I have observed that there has been a great deal of mapping going on since 3.3 came out, with most systems I pass through in the Bubble and even in between the Bubble and the Pleiades all having 'first mapped by' tags around even the most remote bodies. Yet we have not heard anything about discoveries related to The Dark Wheel or Raxxla (and not even any new Generation Ships, although I know someone found one in beta and then went there in live and discovered it). This absence of discovery suggest to me three possibilities:
  1. The Dark Wheel station and Raxxla are located in an out-of-the way place that has not yet been visited in 3.3.
  2. The Dark Wheel station and Raxxla are in a system that is not accessible.
  3. The Dark Wheel station and Raxxla are easy to overlook and have been missed by anyone passing through the system.
One of the first few things I did in 3.3 was to visit the Panacea Medical Centre to hear Salome's last words. This installation was only revealed after I had mapped the world it was orbiting (HIP 17519 A1a), so I think that The Dark Wheel station may be similarly hidden. It would be easy to overlook, especially if it were orbiting the eighth moon of a gas giant around a very distant secondary star. That said, I have also seen 'first mapped by' tags around very distant secondary stars in nondescript systems in between the Bubble and the Pleiades, so although I think this to be the most likely explanation, I am not convinced that it is the correct one.
.
In the New Year I plan to do some reconnaissance inside and around the edge of the Bubble (but not significantly beyond it - I'm assuming it would have been reachable with much earlier and shorter-ranged hyperdrive systems than a modern engineered FSD) to try and find The Dark Wheel station. The description in the Codex about being approached and having a discreet test administered and passed (without knowing at that time that it's The Dark Wheel you're working for) suggests to me also that a regular-looking mission might send you there, or have a chained (follow-up) mission that sends you there. If I'm wrong, at least I'll be getting some mission rewards for my time!

Michael Brookes did say that Raxxla had to be a bit obvious didn't he?

Score another point for Raxxla being along the outer edge of Barnard's Loop, the most obvious galactic feature visible from the Bubble.

Commanders,

The Nomads of Oisir have been working diligently on deciphering The riddle. It has not been easy and the path has not always been clear or sure. We will not reveal all we have uncovered yet, but we will reveal an important discovery we have made in regards to The Club.

As it has unfolded thus far, triggers and the implications suggested seem to be pointing to what may very well be one of their jewels, the namesake of The Club itself. It has also re-confirmed, in our minds, its ties to The Federation and to the Sirius Corporation.

In one of the many steps in the riddle, you will be guided to the Orion Constellation, the mythological master of the dog, Sirius - specifically to Orion's Club. This is revealed in the opening line of sonnet #19:

"On Cupid's bow how are my heartstrings bent," - when pulling the string of a bow, the bend is in your hand.

To find The Club and the Federation controlling the system, along with their Earth Defense Fleet, go to Chi Orionis, the tip of Orion's Club.

In time, we may publish future developments, as we deem just.

Does anybody have any clues as to what this is?

Here is text morse code for anybody wanting to chip in:

Personally, I think this might be a clue to Raxxxla imo

And on a lighter note..
I don't know why i keep coming back to this. After fiddling with the Canonn decryptor tool i got some chinese characters. I tried to translate them and i got this:

Ƒ coconut揷 淧 䡙 Jian 䛍揷 諽謆 䓕 and 쵷 accused accused 䣇 and Ƒ mortgage Jian Ƒ 揷coconut 䣇mortgage Jian 揷 mortgage 䣇 蜟 coconut 뉇 ѧ 揷 뉇 蜟 淧 䓕

I think it's a Pina Colada recipe.

I'll show myself out.

I see this idea a lot, but I honestly speculate that with how long they've been undiscovered, The Dark Wheel may have utilized Raxxla's fabled power to move their station indefinitely. Perhaps they learned how the technology worked, or moved the tech on-board. The most likely explanation is that they've remained hidden for so many years because we're chasing shadows.

I'm moderately surprised no "dark wheel" has been found too. I don't think it's in the Coal Sack nebula, it seems Felicity Farseer connection was noticed and lots of probing has been going on in the close nebulae. Maybe some other place far away, like Heart nebula, then. Codex entry seems to suggest such thing could be found, eventually.

I think bubble/frontier exploring is worth it, as well as tip off missions. For those with eyes to see here means finding some value in crashed ships, Thargoid sensors, things that are of some obscurity, rarely mentioned and often without canonn website entries. I even discovered a secret plot to mix onionhead into energy drinks, scanning some settlement data beacons. Stuff like this could have been out there for over a year now, and often has been discovered by somebody already.

Polaris, polar star, Stella Polaris mean very similar things as omphalos, or the navel. Stella Maris. Neuer more valiant.

It was my understanding that this riddle was made up by Stoyben on the Canonn Discord, but I'm not 100% sure on that. Not really sure about any of this, to be completely honest...

Polaris is the nave of the sky wheel. At least the northern one.

It also actually had an alien(Thargoid) portal, in FFE.
It would surprise me If it’s not somehow part of the quest.

I don’t think it’s the starting point though.

It was and it was also player-created after all. False alarm for this one

What was the system like in FFE? Any gas giants with 8+ moons?
.
I'm not sure what would surprise me about the quest to find The Dark Wheel or Raxxla, except finding that permits are _not_ required. Even if they are not themselves found in locked-off locations, clues to give you a chance of finding them might be. I think I have all the known obtainable permits (CQC system excepted and that was changed in 1.4, as it used to just be an empty system with only one star) but there may be unusual ways of getting some others that have not been found. I've read (on the permit-lock list thread on these forums iirc) that a very small number of people got the Mingfu permit but were not sure how they did it. Maybe I should do a quick tour of those I have and see if the FSS picks up anything noteworthy.

I looked around the Orion Nebula and Orian Dark Region. A lot of unmapped planets that had biological things on them. Not connected but that does tell me very few people actually really look for things. Going to check something out. Then off to Heart and Soul Nebula I suppose. Anything I should be on the lookout for over there?

I don't know for certain it was made up, but the image it was on was definitely not from in game, so if could have been from anywhere, and I suspect a piña colada recipe is more likely to be it's answer then anything Raxxla related.

It had two ammonia worlds. That's all I remember, without checking in game.

Stopped at the one populated system in the Heart Nebula, 7.5KLy from the bubble, and...

Somebody is either extremely dedicated or extremely bored. (Or expecting trouble, I suppose...)

uhm.. i believe im onto the vicinity NOT precise location but narrowed down close enough for a thorough search - non of which is guess work but the results of overlaying certain known materials and ending up with an 'X marks the spot' - fine on a 2D map but a fairly large area on a 3D map. I head out tonight - will be a long voyage, maybe even 'a 5 year mission.....'

Anyhow - i firmly believe i have it nailed. updates to follow.
