According to the codex the first mention of Raxxla was in 2296. That's just sixteen years after the Non-Human relic was found on Mars. It was no bigger than a child's hand. No other info has ever been given about it besides the date and the size.
The omphalos was a stone. Slightly bigger than a child's hand, but a stone nonetheless.
Most accounts locate the Delphi omphalos in the adyton (sacred part of the temple) near the Pythia (oracle).
Omphalos is also the name of the stone given to Cronus.
There is one landable body that The Oracle station orbits in delphi, but no stations, outposts, or otherwise on the landable.


The Almagest system is controlled by Sirius. It is one of the closest fully functional systems to Polaris. In fact, Sirius controls Sothis, Ceos, Robigo and Almagest, which are all some the closest fully functioning systems to Polaris.
At one point about 2 years ago the entire system vanished and when it came back the data of the system had completely changed.
"The Almagest is a 2nd-century Greek-language mathematical and astronomical treatise on the apparent motions of the stars and planetary paths, written by Claudius Ptolemy (c. AD 100 – c. 170). One of the most influential scientific texts of all time"

Permit locked system Van Maanen's Star is less than 20 Ly from Sol. To get the permit you need to get allied with The Sublime order of Van Maanen's Star in Tau Ceti which is controlled by them and also happens to be the first system we made a successful hyperdrive jump to from Earth.
The system description states: This system was given to the Guardians of the Free Spirit religious sect by the Federation in 2480. They believe in maximum hardship and live underground on several of the inner planets of the system. It is forbidden by Federal Law to enter the system without the permission of the Guardians.
Could these be the Exiled monk type Guardians? if so, are we giving them a place to live in safety?

In the codex they mention Princess Astrophel and the Spiraling Stars. NGC 7822 Nebula is also known as the 'Siren of the Spinward Stars'.

Anyhow. Those are some things I've been pondering lately. I figured I'd share.

...what of course I did NOT do was give the orbit of Delphi 5a a thorough search for a veiled station. Guess I‘ll return to Delphi soon.

Besides someone had the idea Raxxla might be hidden in some kind of Hyperdrive cocoon und suggeste firing a FSD Disruptor at the black hole in Delphi(?). The idea is so daft and full of tinfoil I simply have to give it a try.

Sidenotes:

A) If I understand the Codex correctly TRDW is a truly old organisation. If they were already around in 2296 there base might have been/ might still be quite close to Sol. I will give this a try by first visiting the uninhabited then the inhabited systems within 11 ly around Sol.

B) Concerning „we had to make it a bit obvious“: The Pleiades are the major staging ground for Tharg attacks. Maybe they themaelves are searching for Raxxla there. Another reason to return to Delphi...

Very quick minor point - The Guardian Exiles weren’t monklike. At least not based on anything that was in the logs. Unless there’s something new in the Codex?

Tell him that he needs to start over. It states that it orbits the 8th moon. If true, this only invalidates Gas Giants with 7 or less moons. This does NOT invalidate ones with MORE than 8 moons.

Also, for those that continue to say things like (Quote is from reddit) "If Canonn hasn't found it yet, it doesn't exist"... We have yet to explore even a SINGLE percent of the galaxy. Last post I saw (10 months ago, FDev's Twitter) states that 118 million stars have been visited, accounting for 0.028% of the galaxy. That leaves more than 99.9% of the galaxy left to explore.

To put it in easier terms to understand, that's like saying "Honey, I searched my whole mouse pad for my car keys, but can't find them!!" And having your Honey reply "Did you look anywhere else? Like your desk? Or the Floor? Or the counter by the door?".

While it is true only a tiny percent has been discovered, remember how thick the starclusters are near the center and how sparse they can be at the edge. The bubble is a very tightly packed bubble of stars, travel outside of it and you will find noticebly less stars in the sky. It is easier to find things around or in the bubble then, let's say, the center.

Van Maanen's Star has one of the best established back stories within the Elite universe. The short story On The Wrong Side Of The Law by David Massey (included in Stories of Life on the Frontier from Frontier: Elite II) chronicles Captain Jupiter's encounter with the Guardians of the Free Spirit when his ship experienced an Inadvertent Precipitation from Hyperspace (IPH) and he ended up at van Maanen's while carrying cargo considered to be contraband by the Guardians.

Captain Jupiter got a good look on his view screen at a few members of the Guardians of the Free Spirit and there didn't appear to be anything to set them apart from ordinary members of the human race. He was, however, required to remain aboard his ship and conduct all business through indirect communications channels so there's no telling what might be hiding down there on the surface of Major.

Would be disappointing if the personal journey turned out to start by "just jump into the right system, even by chance, et voilà".

Perhaps the FSS has a special frequency that says "Raxxla" under it that you only see when you jump into the correct system, so you can't miss it. ;) ;) ;)

Hi guys
Off tomorrow on DW2, so my Raxxla Questing will be on hold for a few months, but young Tyko Rasalas (he’s actually a clone, younger and with more hair) may well continue the quest after he’s got his new AspX engineered.

IFF the start screen video is a clue (& I still suspect it is, since it’s the only thing that’s “a little bit obvious”) then it’s more complex than I originally thought. It’s definitely a composite of different viewing angles, and object distances. I followed the star patterns but couldn’t find the three around the Griffin head that seem to indicate something special......

Judging by that picture - it's most likely F-class star. might be A-class, but not so sure.
But there's no picture of a gas giant, so no way to understand which class we are talking about.
Still the moon looks landable, so that's another thing to consider.

Jorki means the opening video rather than the menu screen. The menu screen doesn't have anywhere near enough in it to pin down. The video, however, has Barnards Loop and Witchhead Nebula. The star we've been looking for is the yellow one in between the horns on the elite logo.
