IMO Guru's text is all very nice BUT
No Beacons in the game at launch
Different lensing effect at game launch for Black holes
No Obsidion Orbital at game lunch.
Etc, Etc
.
So none of these clues could have been used at game launch, and its been in the game according to Fdev since day one.
and findable since day one

He highlights the 'Wing of 4/4' in his pic, No wings at lunch
No FDL at launch

IF these have all been put in since to guide us, then Fdev has lied about not giving more clues ......

Just IMO o7

Edit, And Fdev do not do NDC they do NDA ;-)

To be slightly less flippant for a moment...

What, if anything, do we expect Raxxla to give us when we find it? Some super-power? Or more of a super-big-tick-in-a-box like you would get for finding a Codex item? Maybe the answer is "Nothing except satisfaction".

If that is the case, then is it possible that Guru's post and screenshot is actually part of a satisfaction "cut-scene", in the way that finding a mission target ship or location gives us a ship that says "I'm glad I've found you, please follow me"?

What makes me wonder if Guru was really onto something here was that we know that Raxxla is the "place that is not a place". What if it is in fact a person or ship, that is obviously motile, and therefore not a place in the accepted sense of the term, but who can deliver you the benefits or secrets of "Raxxla", whatever they are? If you follow my tinfoil here a little further and indulge me, then what if what Guru found was a series of un-announced missions and mission objectives, which, when completed in the right order, allow you to meet "Raxxla"? And that the document about the Demeter / Persephone rituals was something of a roadmap into what those missions were, when placed in the context of the Elite bubble?

Or maybe I should just go and pour another glass of whiskey...

While investigating his claim I made my way to the Persephone system, honked, and used the FSS to scan the two bodies (the star and the planet Kore) and the DSS for Kore. Interestingly enough when I went to the Cartographer it had said I had been the first to discovered a body in Persephone. I am chalking it up to a technical glitch as all has been discovered and scanned before, but I was hoping another CMDR could fly out and try scanning the system and report their findings back from the cartographer. I did not scan the Nav Beacon as it seems to nullify the rewards for discoveries. Thank you.

Raxxla is a Dyson Sphere

For those needing a debrief, here you go.

Seems it turns out to be the "other remote possibility", then.
OMG, poor boy !!
Ermm...are we all looking at the same thing? Cos that link's just to a reddit thread which links back to, and speculates on, the post in this thread and has zero extra actual info.

Unless I'm completely missing something somewhere?

Hi.

I have come to tell you that i have not found Raxxla.

Jokes aside, if it's been found, then cool, it means it is actually out there and findable.
If not: oh come on, Guru! Okay, it was the weekend, but still.
(To those willing to fetch their pitchforks, just please don't destroy the Bubble in anger before i'm back in a month, thanks)

I honestly hope he's found it.

However, there have been numerous times across different threads that a CMDR "... is on the cusp of finding something out... Will report findings here soon". They typically come back to announce they are getting closer, and usually, nothing more is heard. In my experience it tends to get people's backs up. Understandably.

I see this as no different. If I'd have found it, I'd either (1) not tell anyone, or (2) tell people and at least provide a possibly redacted screen shot. I do not see what information has actually been transmitted in said post other than it's been found and there's no evidence other than poster's word.

So, I am out too, but hoping that it has been found.

He hasn't found Raxxla. Elite lore from the 80s does state raxxla is a planet. Frontier won't change a core peace of the game history. And the fact that he won't back any of his findings up except with a PDF and a wing assassination mission screen shot. Sorry but this is attention seeking. He has had that effect.

A non-"mythology" theory to the Codex:

As of right now most people think that the Codex entry to Raxxla has clues that point to some old song book.

A different Take:

'...the jewel that burns, on the brow of the mother of galaxies...':

Common Theory:

Most people are hooking onto this Cassiopeia thing. Cassiopeia is the mother of Andromeda, not all galaxies. I mapped many stars in the cassiopeia constellation by downloading the wiki list:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_stars_in_Cassiopeia

My Theory:
And mapping them in game. Some go by their name, some go by HIP, some go by HD. I then filtered out to the stars that are in Cassiopeia's forehead region based on some overlays. There are over 100, and I either jumped in and others had mapped, or mapped interesting things myself. Note, there are a lot of Rogue gas giants, and black holes in Cassiopeia's stars.

If Cassiopeia is a clue or isn't, we must find the reference point for the Dark wheel toast to know where "the brow" is.

I think "mother of galaxies" is referring to a black hole. To form a galaxy, you need a super-massive black hole. These are in game, and have been, like rogue planets. A "mother" being the thing that makes a galaxy, is the black hole.

"Astrophel and the Spiralling Stars"

Common Theory:

Some obscure reference to a real life poem book.

My Theory:

"Spiralling Stars" is what happens when flying around a black hole. I think we are looking for a certain black hole, to see a certain set of 'spiralling stars'. I think there is more here to find in game. Like some some settlement logs about the in-game children's book "Astrophel and the Spiralling stars".

I went to both the Spiralling stars cluster, and Casiopeia stars out near the heart and soul nebula. There are at least 4 black holes in the Cassiopeia stars, if Cassiopeia is a clue.

"...of Atlantis, El Dorado, and the kingdom of Prester John.."

I think this is a clue. El Dorado is mentioned in another codex entry. As is "omphalos" (the entry about how Cartographics" was formed). I'm not sure if the stories are a clue, but maybe the capitalized letters correspond to something.

Omphalos Rift

Omphalos Rift is a device, theorized to be a portal. That means Raxxla itself is not a portal. I think Raxxla holds the "Omphalos Rift". and the Raxxla is the key to.

The Raxxla Codex Image

I think the image does have a hint of Raxxla and the Omphalos device. I think it depicts the device at the center of a Rogue Gas Giant. I think this gas giant has been in game since launch, but it's functionality hadn't been fleshed out until recently. From the launch interviews where Braben appeared, I believe they made improvements to Raxxla in the 2.0 launch, and this recent launch.

In this recent Beta, there was a bug showing guardian ruins in a gas giant, and was promptly fixed. I believe this bug was some form of the Raxxla function update, that is also being used for thargoid/guardian play with upcoming atmospherics.

Fernweh

Why use the word 'fernweh'?

Because it doesn't have a direct translation to english. I think its a hint to the system name that contains Raxxla. A system name that makes sense in some language, maybe German, but doesn't translate

The Darkwheel entry

"...Some gas giant..."

I think the gas giant is actually Raxxla. "some" is a choice word, meaning someone chose to that word over a bunch of other common phrases to say "a gas giant".

Main Theory:

I think we are looking for a system with a Rogue Gas giant and 8 moons, and a close-by system with a black hole (~20-30 lyrs).

The black hole's location is tied to a certain set of stars relating to an in-game book, which we don't know a lot about yet.

hen a pilot targets a wake, and then jumps, it follows the Wake's pilot. that means this functionality/trigger has been in game for a while. I think this function is tied to Raxxla. Similarly, we will need to target a the target the system with the black hole, 'through' the gas giant, and then start our FSD. As we jump to the "Jewel that burns", the gas giant opens and reveals the Omphalos Device. The Rift "Omphalos Rift" relates to the rift that opens in the gas giant.

This could explain why/how the Dark wheel could utilize and keep it hidden for ~1000 years. Even if you find the gas giant, it does nothing and appears as nothing, until you jump through it, to the black hole. Which also goes along with Braben's quote: "of course, but you don't know what is though."

It could be the other way (similar to a low wake target) where we have to target the Gas Giant thorough the black hole within the same system. Which would mean a system that has a black hole, and a rogue gas giant.

Out of curiosity, has anyone seen a phenomenon where a star in the galmap has another star next to it but then has it disapear after looking at it for a while? Like it's absorbed by the other star. I keep getting this. (NVM, I think it might be because I set the galmap settings to high quality.)

I'm also getting this. It's a previously visted star with the lines coming from it without focus.(I think that is just a neutron with the map being funny.)

And I wonder if the cost of planets has any signifigance to anything in game... https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...ants-w-life-pay-less-than-Gas-Giants-w-o-life

The key to any problem, or puzzle, is to get to the root of it. Where did this all start? You really need to work from there to fix it, or solve it. Did you know that the first mention of
Raxxla in 2296, **as stated in the codex**, was by Art Tornqvist and a woman named Cora. Did you know that Art in Greek storytelling was in itself a central character to convey meanings within their stories? Did you know that Cora is a variation of Kore and that Kore is another name for Persephone?
Did you know that we found a Non-Human Relic on Mars sixteen years before the first mention of Raxxla?
Do you know the story of Mars? Have you been there? What does the Oracle tell you about it?
Your Oracle of Delphi is the internet. Fact. Google and Wiki at every step. Braben is one of the founders of the AI revolution and the internet, an AI, is our Oracle.
Do you even know the story of Demeter, of Persephone/Kore/Cora, of Hades, or of how the initiation rites were created? Do you know who each one of them were and what their special talents, skills, or abilities were? And do you even understand exactly what the initiation rites are? If not, than fix all of that. Wiki has a great amount of information on them. It all started with Demeter, she gave birth to Persephone and to the initiation rites.
Many times contacts and characters appear when you arrive at the correct stations,
**"Welcome commander...."**
What do their names mean? Who are they and what do they say? What about their economy or faction? Meaning, greek, myth and symbol. What does the Oracle tell you about them? Good intentions, bad intentions, no intentions, just not applicable? Does it resonate with what you are doing? Do they align with the step and the subject matter, and especially do they apply to the path you're on? First name, last name, stations, unique body names?
Have you punched all the possibilities of the step, people, places or things into your nav? Do they have different name spellings? Does your navigation panel find more than one possible location and is one of those locations better linked to the step you're on??? Do certain names, words or objects have symbolic meanings, or myths or stories associated with them? Is it in alignment, in any way, to the step or possible location??
The journey begins when you consult the oracle and the importance is in getting the right location, action and sequence. The people you meet along the way are very important and should be, for the most part, pretty obvious connections, but it will be a bit heavy on the cryptic side at times, so that's on you to figure out. It would be wise to explore your options. The Oracle/internet/google will spit out a bunch of possibilities when you try all the key words and it's up to you to decipher which one is in alignment with the story, steps, and subject matter, if at all. If not, than there's a good chance it's not the one.
And believe it or not, there are in fact blatant signposts along the way, I used these to determine if this was all in my head or an actual thing happening, because this was an actual thought I struggled with.

There. That is the remainder of what I will give. A set of tools and a sense of direction to help clear this mess I've created. Let's hope it works. Not all of you are going to succeed.
If you lack the ability to see in metaphor, well than good luck. If you lack a secondary monitor or oracle device to use while you plot your courses, it will make this much much harder. It needs to be used constantly.
This whole experience has been rather horrible tbh. So best of luck, be happy that you're not in this position. I thought I was so smart and now I see that pride and ego has gotten the best of me, and of others. It would've been better to stay completely silent.

Everyone wants a free ride to the galaxies biggest treasure and that's not how it works. Prove yourself and you might find it.
Raxxla may have been in every game there has been, but it appears to me that the methodologies of accessing it have differed from game to game.
The NDA/NDC is stated in the initiation rites it's not a form to sign or a box to click, it's more of a matter of respect for something bigger than myself, and I expect the next person will come to this same understanding.
It appears the Dark Wheel has in fact metaphorically killed off my CMDR through this process, much like Alex Ryder, Jason Ryder and the rest.

Best of luck to all of you.

Wait a second. I've heard this whole spiel before! Especially the braben being some pioneer of the internet.... I can't quite remember from where though.

That or guru is braben in an alt account tooting his own horn.

BTW, IR TEH eLIte ExplorER!!11!! Took me about 4 days of gameplay! Picked up all terraforms, Water, Earthlike, Amonia and eventually started also adding rich metal and Class II gas.. Seems to be where the money is. Visit a long away destination and pick them up and you are golden for cash. Takes a while though. I have 310 mill and started at like 28 mill before the trip. Almost back to the bubble. I'm at one of the nearby nebulas and visiting them all on the way back.
