Dear CMDR Puffler,

I know that this situation looks awful, and you don't hear or see anything connected to Guru and Raxxla. But could you please read at least this letter - at least because I can help.

I can hardly imagine what could happen with Guru to behave his so. But I really think that investigate this can be still useful. But, of course, not only through ancient Greek Myths. It is really a hard work to look through every name you see to find a connection - I've tried it on my home station, and found what Guru could name a Key to Raxxla. So not. But, as you see, the weakest part in every conspiracy is human. Even if it is all bull, making a riddle that will create a hype wave among several Discords, explorer groups - from USA to Russia - is not an easy task. So creating a kind of masterpiece always leaves traces. Some photos, strange words, and so on.

You are a happy man, CMDR Puffler. You are the chief of 46&2, and you are the man who has not keys to Raxxla, but keys to Guru. Of course, I understand you wanted to be famous not through your subordinate's craziness, but well, happens. I can help. I can take all this on myself (and, of course, on the shoulder's of Guru's fans), if you just contact me that we can exchange with the materials, clues and all the work Guru left. Don't worry, you'll not fill sorry for that. In the memories of all CMDR you'll be known as Guru's Savior, a man who did everything right.

The idea that Frontier paid developers upwards of hundreds of thousands to work on content people might never see is absolutely bonkers. It is more than likely that Raxxla will be added as some sort of future content

If you don't believe FDev would task development with adding it in the past, why do you believe they would add it in the future? This makes no sense.

In any case, just because the development team wage bill is undoubtedly not small as a whole, that does not mean it cost hundreds of thousands of pounds to add something around Raxxla to the game. That would depend on how much effort Raxxla took. Even if no-one ever finds it, if it meant MB could say 'it's in the game' without lying, think how many players and how much time has been spent looking.

If you get used to it it's easier than the old system. You basically scan to allow you to selectively pick close range planets like before. And the pay out is exponentially higher. A high end teraform or earthlike are 3,600,000 credits. That is full fss, discovery, efficiency etc. It's the same as before except you don't waste time going to targets you don't want to. Nice once you get the hang of it. You can also reduce the stuff you fss scan if you are good with it probably. I'm not but I think it's possible. I just scan them all to get my name on stuff. Easy as most visited places only have the old discovery and alot have partial system scans. I have lots of stuff with my name on it now. 8)

I just got a system with 9 mill credits from like 4 big hits. It had previous discovery, but if it had been a totally new system it would have been 20 mill for one system.

I agree the FSS is worth getting used to, however I watched Ed Lewis’ final ED livestream last Thursday & was amazed at the speed with which Will was scanning around each system. Clearly the FSS has been optimised for xbox controller ‘cos it’s a bit tedious moving around the scan space using a joystick! I have a bug report raised on this; come on FD, give hotas users some love!

It's probably the slow down effect combined with the hatch like thing on controllers. I use a mouse and keyboard to move. It slows down to hit targets and you can zoom in and out with the mouse wheel. I go slow to see the ground targets, but if you ignore them it's very fast. and you can move with the keyboard and push the mouse to move even faster. I might have ignored or lowered some sensitivity settings with that one.

Yea, I kind of wouldn't be surprised if it's optimized for a controller. That kind of makes sense. They are always playing with them in streams. I didn't consider that.

I actually have problems going too fast. If I ignore scans and go as fast as possible just hitting targets it starts to lag bad and kind of slows down how fast I can scan systems. But, yea, thinking about it, I bet they developed the whole system using those controllers....

Does your hotas have a proper hatch or just the 4 direction type. That might help. Might even be better like with the mouse. If you can move with the hatch or something and then push with the joystick you can get double movement control with one hand if it's precise.

I think I derailed the thread a bit. 8p

Should I say my raxxla finding search I'm doing. It involves the spiral decoder thing(And similar techniques.). Although that pretty much says it all. Coordinates are all around the bubble and within 8k ly. It's quite odd how all such coordinates I come up with end up near the bubble. Not just near the bubble but making a square/rectangle around it...

I actually took the Raxxla vs Rabbit name and found the difference between the letter values. Same thing. Surrounds the bubble...

Difference is 22,22,3,19.

That potentially gives 181,2222,319 with varying positives and negatives(still needs the double letter thing applied potentially). Perfectly hits the top and bottom most extreme stars above and below the bubble. And even makes a sqaure search area at the top and bottom of the galaxy just over/below the bubble. Also plane raxxla does the same. 181,2453,1230 or 181,2424,121. Vary all positive and negative values and you get a shape around the bubble each time. Always with vary sparse areas with a few stars in sight.

I'm getting an anaconda when I get back to the bubble and checking those out. Very interesting systems potentially. Just need to find the jump distance as there are barely any stars at those spots. Some system have not been visited according to eddb. So, either they don't have the data or they are hard to get too.

Aslo, raxxlas numbers add up to 80.. Maybe we need 80ly jump capability to reach raxxla.

may I remind - to those still feeling unhappy about the new scan-mechanics - EXACTLY this change is in the biggest interest for those trying to solve
this question here - sheer amount of data.
The "old" System led to a dataset full of cherry-picked systems, unreliable for any statistic analysis. The new system will boost that dataflow by factor 10 at least...

Spot on Xenia!

I must point out to everyone complaining abou the FSS that during the Formidine Rift hunt we had a great amount of discussion on exploration and the need for better search& discovery tools. I made a thread to summarise the points for FD https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...earch-improvement-requirement-amp-suggestions.
I think the new planetary mapping probes are the bees knees, but there does seem to be a problem in that it has failed to localise some things I would have expected it to, like an INRA base and Jameson’s Cobra, although I’m sure the FSS did indicate human signals for these on the planets (well, actually said Guardian, but we must allow FD the occasional silly bug! )

To my mind the problem with the FSS is the slow scanning speed using joystick, and the tie to a separate analysis mode where you’re isolated from the hud. I forsee a new form of ganking - wait for an fss scan to start before attacking the explorer who cant see the griefer sneaking up on him.

I hope some days in near future, people who are still looking for Raxxla will understand they won't find it until FD has decided it. Until it fits their narrative. Once they will have realized that, they will be more relax.

Mother goddesses tinfoil

The virgin mother goddess that gives birth to the universe, seem to be an important aspect of the Dark Wheel toast.

One goddess that seem to fit nicely into the story, is Neith.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neith
https://shirleytwofeathers.com/The_Blog/powers-that-be/neith-the-first-one/

Neith is a primordial creator, war goddess, goddess of hunting and weaving. She is the mother of Ra, Apep, Sobek and Heka. She is said to have always excised and to have created everything.
Her tempel in Sais had the inscription: "I am the things that are, that will be, and that have been. No one has ever laid open the garment by which I am concealed. The fruit which I brought forth was the sun"

Other interesting descriptions:
- “Opener of the Sun’s Paths in all her stations”
- "deity of the unseen and limitless sky"

I recommend reading the links above, as there are lots of details.

In Astronomy Neith has three representations:

- Asteroide 1122 Neith: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1122_Neith
- Neith crater on Ganymede: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neith_(crater)

and my favorite, the hypothetical Venus moon Neith: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neith_(hypothetical_moon)
This one would be fun as a basis for Raxxla, as it was observed by a dosen top astronomers between 1645 and 1768 and was never seen after that. There are also a few bits of orbital and size information, that makes searching possible(if it didn't jump, that is:D).

I have more on Neith, for a later post. It may not be directly Raxxla related, but may help us understand some of the ideas behind the ED universe.

I think mouse is better than either joystick or controller. I use my HOTAS for IL2 BoX as well, and joysticks don't last forever. I can't bring myself to use a joystick for what is, essentially, a turret. I wouldn't use the joystick in a rear gunner position in a WW2 plane either. It's unnecessary wear on the equipment, and doesn't feel right either. Most other FSS controls are mapped to my throttle, and the combination does work pretty quickly.

Hmm, which INRA base did you check? The Hermitage one worked fine for me when I checked it, and I also found one of the other ones completely randomly while flying a new alt out to the Pleiades. (Wasn’t looking for INRA bases at that point, Hermitage is the one I know off the top of my head, and I haven’t got any of the other systems memorised, so didn’t realise where I was until I actually reached the base.)

That's nice, could it be one of those temporary moons that planets capture time to time?

Also as far as we know there are Reptillians living on the Raxxla (or is this not canon too?). If this is their origin and home planet, it should have got a stable orbit and star, the system should not be too close to the center of the galaxy, maybe not close to any nebula too. IMHO it's an atmoshperic planet.

My bet is it's in an unlisted or permit locked system on the galaxy map. and to obtain the key (a high wake or permit -high wake is both a key and a gate, I actually like this idea-) is behind a quest line, I don't know which kind. I also strongly think that being an elite (preferably in cobat) or triple elite is essential. And only a tiny bit of the quest line is implemented and waiting to be discovered to start the hunt. So we can't just jump to a system and see Raxxla being there. There are billions of people living in the bubble, millions of exploreres, traders, pirates wanderin around. If it is in a system that can be jumped to, it wouldn't be able to stay as a secret till now.

I mentioned these before, one of the harder struggles behind implementing atmospheric landins is volumetric, proceduraly generated clouds, as been said by David Braben back in 2012. Volumetric Lagrange clouds in 3.3 gave me hope about atmospheric landings or at least entering gas giants' atmosphere's in 2019 as the new era of elite dangerous. Considering TDW and Raxxla made an enterence in codex, I'm thinking of Raxxla will be found in 2019 as an atmospheric planet. That would be a hell of a new era :D

Commanders,

Regarding CMDR Guru951's latest statements - As a former member of the (now disbanded) 46&2 group, I would like to apologize for all of this. I'm currently trying to understand what determined Guru to behave this way, as he has disgraced our group, abandoned his brothers and continues to torment seekers with misinformation and delusions.

From what I've managed to piece together, Guru did indeed NOT uncover anything of note, let alone the greatest mystery there is (RAXXLA).

For now, all I can recommend is steering clear of CMDR Guru951, and anything he has to say or offer.

I'm thankful you clarified this. Especially, because at Canonn, it created sorts of a sect. Believers, throwing their blatant faith around without being able to accept facts. Not only that, but even labelling everyone, criticizing either Guru or his theory, as trolls.

Sad to see Canonn ended up being rather a church to non-evident based bull.

That being said,

Etherealreality: You're one poopy Ambassador.

Yeah, that means you need to... do something (not getting a permit, there isn't.) in order to be allowed there. That's why Polaris is the N° 1 of the iconic Raxxla candidates. Imho, of course.

Pics or it didn't happen!

All right then.

The safest assumption here is that your group hasn't found Raxxla, and the comment above is not a misleading effort to compensate for Guru having broken their vow of silence.

Which means we got a fellow CMDR, namely Guru, who must not be feeling great right now, so let's be delicate.

Hey Guru,

i have no idea who you are, but you seem to be a smart fellow. My guess is you got that formula one in your head, and it can do beautiful things, provided it gets the right fuel and a proper track to express itself. But, well, sometimes, life doesn't hand you that environment you need to create the beautiful outputs you're capable of. So the car starves, or roars in vain, and it's a mess. I've already seen such things happen. You're not the first, you won't be the last.

I just wanna say: don't isolate yourself. You did something that was unexpected, from your friends, this forum, and probably yourself a few weeks back. See the good side: nobody was hurt. Your ego was, and, well, it's fair game.
Right now you'll have the temptation of seeing only the bad side of all of this. Don't give in to it. It is a defining moment, and it can be a positive one, full of lessons. Don't assign too much importance to what happened. Seen from Beagle Point, it was no big deal. But don't push it under the rug either. You don't live in Beagle Point. Just give it the exact amount of attention it deserves. It can be a moment when you decide to learn to master that powerful tool you have, and use it in a positive manner. You can learn to make your formula one become a four-wheel-drive when the terrain requires it. Or a compact car when fuel economy is preferred, and the streets get narrower. And you know the best part? You are equipped with exactly what you need to make that learning.

Come back here when you feel like it. I and others will be glad to greet you back. Sure, now we know that you have that race car in your garage. You weren't gonna hide it forever anyways. Some people will understand it, some won't. It's always been like that. Nothing has changed in that regard. It was Ursula K Le Guin who said something like "There's a point when you have to choose whether to be like everybody else the rest of your life, or to make a virtue of your peculiarities.". So yeah, make a virtue of yours.

Be well, Guru.

This ! I myself am not ashamed of having been searching for Raxxla in the Rift for months, previously to the Salami affair. And I even know one who has been looking for Cass A SNR for weeks ! Yes, I swear he did !
