If you get used to it it's easier than the old system. You basically scan to allow you to selectively pick close range planets like before. And the pay out is exponentially higher. A high end teraform or earthlike are 3,600,000 credits. That is full fss, discovery, efficiency etc. It's the same as before except you don't waste time going to targets you don't want to. Nice once you get the hang of it. You can also reduce the stuff you fss scan if you are good with it probably. I'm not but I think it's possible. I just scan them all to get my name on stuff. Easy as most visited places only have the old discovery and alot have partial system scans. I have lots of stuff with my name on it now. 8)
I just got a system with 9 mill credits from like 4 big hits. It had previous discovery, but if it had been a totally new system it would have been 20 mill for one system.

The supposed people who found raxxla (suspicion falls at children of raxxla) ordered a hit on Jason. With Alex subsequently hunting down (or rather Rafe arranging for bounty hunter to find him) and killing the bounty hunter.
With Rafe later pretty much recruiting Alex into Dark Wheel.
The amount of pretense in that sentence...ugh the cringe. UUGH THE CRINGE.

Regarding CMDR Guru951's latest statements - As a former member of the (now disbanded) 46&2 group, I would like to apologize for all of this. I'm currently trying to understand what determined Guru to behave this way, as he has disgraced our group, abandoned his brothers and continues to torment seekers with misinformation and delusions.
From what I've managed to piece together, Guru did indeed NOT uncover anything of note, let alone the greatest mystery there is (RAXXLA).
For now, all I can recommend is steering clear of CMDR Guru951, and anything he has to say or offer.

Yeah, I know all this. Played it 50 + hours, the whole beta. Nothing to do with credits. Already a long time since I don't care for Cr.
For me, Exploration is dead in ED. Then, ED is dead for me. But I am glad you enjoy that stupid and dull minigame unworthy of a 2019 major space game.
Have fun making big £££ pointing and clicking at blue blobs !

I must admit that after almost 500 scans using new (FOR f...k SAKE) mode im a bit bored. I suspected that feeling will come.... sadly. Now we have faster tool but there is still no sand in this sandbox...
Do you think that Fdev will polish this experience in the future ?

There was even less sand without it. At least now you don't need to sniff every planet to map the system.
Hey. Thanks for clarification, i respect that but it was obvious that he didnt found anything. Probably he take to much "knowledge" about Ancient Greek mythology and get confused and in the end frustrated.
Lets remember that ancient mythology is a mess.
Fdev are using ancient mythologies and symbolism very hardly. There are LOot of things you have to combine and consider if you following that path, for example i didnt saw any mention about LOGOS - Dark Wheel logo is "Ouroboros" . Main corporations contains Dragon Eye symbolism. One of the old raxxla missions is called Silent song of the spheres witch reffers to Musica Unversalis - ofcourse it is ancient philosophical concept... and many more. It easy to get confused.
Raxxla is Probably hidden by some form of BGS, probably. I hope that is not the only way to find it because it means that withut FDEV clues we are walking in the dark..... forever

Sure; No more need to Explore. Just play the minigame at a standstill. Coool ! Next patch: "Extended FSS." Scan the whole MW when still docked at Eravate. You will love it !!

Actually, I don't care, but I bet they'll keep getting this game more and more arcade-ish. That's what the kiddos like.

may I remind - to those still feeling unhappy about the new scan-mechanics - EXACTLY this change is in the biggest interest for those trying to solve

The "old" System led to a dataset full of cherry-picked systems, unreliable for any statistic analysis. The new system will boost that dataflow by factor 10 at least...

RIP Guru, it seems the fruitless results of his efforts have broken his psyche completely. you confused the hell out of us the whole time.
As far as the main topic goes; someone said something in a twitch stream that really made me think the other day. The idea that Frontier paid developers upwards of hundreds of thousands to work on content people might never see is absolutely bonkers. It is more than likely that Raxxla will be added as some sort of future content, or it's something so small and unfinished that it wouldn't really be a huge deal to actually find it.
At first I disagreed, because Raxxla was a big mystery in the original Elite back when the game was tiny and barely had anything, but I think that's just what it was. A whisper. A mention. An idea that isn't even fully formed. I'd genuinely put my money on it not actually being in the game, or it being something so insignificant it wouldn't matter if we did find it.
