As long as they project the brands in to 3300, and don't just advertise current goods, then I don't think it would be a problem at all.

As above, Bladerunner made it work really well ;)

Personally I don't like sneaky ad poop getting shoved into my pc.
Then again I do understand they need the money.
So long as it's not like origin... I'm cool with it as long as they blend it in.
. Be kinda wierd looking at 2014 games or something in 3300

Alot of people won't like the idea tho.
It's a good thing no one actually reads the Eula these days...

As long as ED doesn't serve me adverts based on my previous searches on Google, Amazon and Ebay i'll be ok with that ;)

No problem with it here either - as someone mentioned it'd be like Blade Runner. It's actually not hard to imagine a beer company or something like CocaCola still being around in the 34th century.

Absolutely, billion dollar brand names just won't disappear.

and if it is mixed in with in lore advertisements it might not be so "stand outish"

"Energy Drinks" was a trade good.
Would it be that bad if one of the unique trade goods was "CocoCola" available in their system available for export?

How about we have floating billboards outside the entrances to the stations. ....

Oh wait, we already do ... Question: is there any difference between fake ad's and real ones?

If FD can make good money from in game advertising then I am all for it. Vanity microtransactions are also fine by me.

We need to remember that this will only benefit the game. I would be nice to only see advertising themes that are in keeping with the game but to be honest, when coming in to dock I am far to busy to take notice of advertisements as I am checking the scanner for potential trouble.

Yes there is ... ED stand to make money off of real ads which can be used to further develop the game :)

I don't need to see tampon ads or new 2014 car ads or call of duty ads when the game takes place 1300 years in the future.

"Tampax Rocket - Freedom to Travel The Galaxy"

"Call Of Duty: Remembered - VR Retro-Gaming Expo of the franchise that crashed back in 2020, because they ran out of ideas in 2008"
