Related, are we supposed to find Raxxla using clues in the game and lore? Researching Greek literature and the Illuminati and other "external" sources feels like a rabbit hole to me. Is there precedence for this?
Drew Wagar included a number of external references in his Formidine Rift puzzles. It's possible that Michael Brookes may have done the same, as he is well-read. I wouldn't have thought the current custodians of Elite would be so likely to include obscure cultural references, but you never know. The Codex entries appear to have some specific clues....

Sorry if anyone has covered this previously...but to continue the literary analysis of Astrophel & Stella against Greek mythology.

'Allusions are a distinguishing feature of sir Philip Sydney's sonnet sequence 'Astrophel and Stella' Elaborate.'

https://www.enotes.com/homework-help/allusions-distinguishing-feature-sir-philip-467354

'With eyes to see' - does this allude to a classical analysis of the text, to extract classical names used in astronomical navigation or a Homeric journey?

Might mean that Raxxla will not show on any instrumentation & must be spotted visually.

Why are you asking us? We have no idea & there are no clues! Your guess is as good as anbody else’s.

correction: we have many ideas, all are either untested or failed hypotheses. Some people seem to be obsessed by mythology in this quest; personally I think it’s a collection of red herrings...
but I could be wrong.

Ive been looking into this matter, and among all the "theories" and "speculation", it seens to me that some elements in this game totally relate to some of the accounts and things i read about this mitical place.

So i expect some things about this:

1- Its not reachable or can be seen all the time, probrably only at a certain time, with certain conditions u can actually see it and get to it, wich makes perfect sense.
2- It is either close to the bubble or in the bubble itself, or it is a "rogue", wandering about the galaxy, ence only is at the place ud expect in a certain time frame.
3- There will be a huge puzzle to be able to do any interaction with it.
4- It may well be that all ull find is a huge ruin with some kinda portal or such that cant be activated, and once found will take months or years till some clever mind breaks the code and manages to figure out how it works, and even them ull need to ferry or get stuff elsewhere to actually get it running.

Or it could all be just like atlantis, and other myths, just that, something to keep us all dreaming and wasting our time on a quest that cant be furfilled.

And that is the appeal of this!

As with all misteries, i would say, in any game ive played that has them, the solution is always a simple one, i see ppl taking all kinds of aproachs to this and seens a competition to see who comes up with a more elaborated and complicated explination than the other... Keep it simple, probrably will get to it that way.

My plans are not to seek this thing out as my primary goal, but with the clues there are, i will definatly as soon as i get to the bubble and start doing what is my idea, wich ill reveal in due time, ill keep my eyes wide open to see if i come up with something...

But let me give u "food for thoughts", many times, there are more parties looking for a thing than you alone!
What i mean is, take a look at the targoids and their activity, since they have been probring the bubble but they dont all out attack they seen to keep themselves to a certain area, or path, who knows they arent looking for it too, or protecting it, and their activity is in fact a "road map" u can follow?!

Safe travels commanders, and good luck! o7

Over six THOUSAND posts in this thread and you have no ideas or clues? Well that's a sad commentary, LOL.

LOL, personally I enjoy this thread. It's like a little parallel universe all of its own, full of stories, speculation, winding paths and glorious hopes and dreams. I'll take it over six thousand pages of salt and bile (not hard to find in any other part of the forum!) any old day of the week.

Keep it up seekers! It's about the journey... not the destination.

It and the Dark Wheel thread have made for great bedtime reading :D

This leads me to inevitably to one thought. I jokingly thought, in my pants. that is why nobody has found it. This lead me to the phrase from the simpsons about eating my shorts... Then i realized something. Supposedly the simpsons has done everything... So, have they done raxxla? The show must logically/statistically have a hint. What from the simpsons could tell us where raxxla is. If not the simpsons is a lie. Else we might be able to whittle it down! It's just a theory. But if the weirdos who make games and tv are connected logically/coincidentally or personally in any tiny way it might just pull through.

Logically if very little from the show should be relatable to the game the few things that do must be rare and stick out. Else there is nothing to find or it gets weird fast if everything is relatable. But, then again, if it's all related, it might in itself be a clue!

Mmmmh... Ok with the Astrophel and Stella/Spiralling Stars, though a quite far-fetched thing, imho...
Anything can turn out to be the point. It's ED, after all.

About "Raxxla being ingame since the start..etc..", I think there are like two periods in the developement of the myth ingame.
The first, which is so brilliantly related in the FP and following, wth the E/F missions and MB leading the thing, until they were brutally taken off.
Typical FD way of doing things.
And then, after a short interlude as MB left ED, the Codex period. No need to become Elite to deal with TDW faction, (anyway, getting Elite status is easy in a couple of days through Explo/Trade/Mining), and The Myth/TDW relation widely spread by appearing as a major theme in the Codex.
The tiny little bit obvious part, is underlined in red now.

"Having eyes do you not see, and having ears do you not hear? And do you not remember?"

"Eyes to see" is biblical reference (I use it a lot). I guess Codex reference implies Dark System or Dark World.

Could be. As, for an example, Odin who gave one eye to receive.."eyes to see". And many others legends/history....

Strange that You are mentioning Odin because reasons.

"Eyes to see" was referenced by FD long long time ago for Dark Systems among other things.

Indeed. But what I mean is that almost every culture has some kind of myth/legend/history which can be related to ED "clues".
Are we going to try every one we know or are we presuming that the FD story-tellers put some of their preferences in it?
Then the "MB being fan of Norse, Lovecraft, etc.." thing. But he left, so.. ? Do we know DB's preferences in that matter ?

I think the personal journey thing is still valid. The Codex points us to get personal in the way of being invited by TDW.
No brute force will do it. Now, the question is how to actually attract their attention ?

Oh, there’s about 6 MILLION ideas! Maybe some are even vaguely right! :D

See, that's what I was asking about when some random fellow told me you all have no ideas or clues...

Being late to the party, I wonder if I'll make it 6 million and ONE ideas, or if I'll just rehash old ideas as I embark on a little detective work of my own... I suppose I can eventually make my way through these 6000+ posts, especially if I skip past all the weird "One-eye Thor shall lead the way" ideas [haha]

Oh, you wonder ? Keep wondering and when you have some kind of proper idea we will be pleased to read and comment it. [haha]
Odin, not Thor.
