Fairly good results for what is a limited alpha with an expensive entry fee (not complaining, just echoing some of the criticisms we've seen here on the forums)

The Alpha's App ID is 518340. SteamSpy doesn't track it (it just ends up defaulting to a non-existing app page) and SteamDB pull things like CCU & owners to display on their own page from SteamSpy so you'd likely be on your own with the Steam API in order to try and get any public info on the stats for the Alpha.

Looking at the notes for the API, I probably could setup a basic site to make the relevant data human friendly... But the license to use the API and make public any info would make it a long job before I could share anything!

I guess we just have to keep an eye on the sales trend and player figures to gauge the success rate! And as you point out, the upcoming financials. hopefully they will make a specific statement in them regarding Planet Coaster rather than mix various revenue streams into one entry.

I do wonder (and as someone who owns the retched game) why anyone would want to actually play it! Really, all of the other RCT games are far better, even the old isometric builders! I honestly think I'd get more enjoyment out of the original Theme Park, at least it had a decent management system if I remember correctly :D

Im very curious what Frontier thinks of this. Just like im curious to how much of a succes the game is.
I think the general feeling here is is that the game is doing very well... Yet what does Frontier think? Does it meets expectations? Exceeds expectations?

don't think they will ever answer here on that, but im just curious. (okok, and a littlebit curious because the succes of a game influences the future (Expantion packs)) [mouth shut]

I think the sales of pre-orders/alpha was £1m+ in their last statement a few months ago. For a relatively high priced game that's pretty positive. We should very soon know more, but I think that within a year of full release they'll easily be into profit on this title. It may be a 'niche' sub genre, but still there are millions of players of this type of game around the world, so it's only a matter of time before the word spreads wide enough to snare many more customers :)

I found it!!! http://store.steampowered.com/search/?filter=topsellers

Number 9 :)

Effffing excellent job Frontier!!!!!! I hope this news doesn't sneak onto any other forums....

I'm glad you've been able to see with your eyes. That's right, Planet Coaster have good sales, people wanted a RCT4 and this game is the true sequel of RCT3.

As always, good job, Frontier. [yesnod]

6th right now??

Damn that goes fast! Especially considering people who buy the alpha right now can't even play untill November.
True, but many people have seen gameplays (eg Silvarret) and have seen that this is the game we had been asking for 12 years.

In addition, when people listen word Frontier, caught totally trust.
