Just in case anyone is getting a little tired of the negativity that is allowed on the forums, there is a discord created for all Raxxla hunters. It is the Independent Raxxla Hunters discord and is moderated enough to cut down on people who are rude and damaging to the community. To give you an idea of the kind of community and openness that we have a user provided to everyone, without restriction a Library that provides searchable access to galnet, beacons and other resources.

I commend the effort, but maintain what I've always said about having a discord - not everyone uses it, and it splits the conversation and information over different locations, which I don't think helps.

(I'm not having a go at you for creating it, I hasten to add!)

For that reason, I'll personally stick to this thread (and being vaguely amused by the idea that doing so implies I'm not independent! :p ).

No offense taken, it another option for those who will use it. Though personally, I would join just for access to the automated library system.

Aside from the story arc in the Dark Wheel novella included with Elite 1984, was Raxxla ever known to have been found in any previous released Elite versions?

Thank you, JulesD. I was 99% sure this was the case. I wanted to be 100% sure. There's so little factually known about Raxxla, and so much "blown out of proportion" assumption on the subject. I felt it a prudent question, regardless of how obvious it may have appeared.

And this just so happens to be in the Northern Crown Constellation.

Oh and I found Korra in Demeter.
I featured this on my stream last night.

Hello, time for my first Raxxla post.

Haven’t seen anyone talk about the COLOR of the Raxxla image in the codex. I think it’s worth considering that because of the similarities in color, night vision may be involved in a step to finding it.

ALSO, I see everyone talking about looking for a gas giant with 8 moons. Technically, can’t a star be considered a gas giant? And again, any one body that orbits a less massive object could technically be referred to as a moon. This idea of gas giant and moon is a bit of a stretch but good to consider I think.

From my understanding is a Gas Giant is a failed attempt of becoming a star. It is possible that the so called star on the codex is actually a Gas Giant in transition to forming either between being a star itself or a in transition to becoming a Gas Giant due to the failure of becoming a star itself.

This explains the idea why the orbit of the station is always in the dark side of the 8th moon due to the possibility of it being dangerous during it's transition. Which also explains the use of lower power outputs it's using critical systems like life support. The possibility to this is if the Gas Giant does succeed to becoming a star the moon Blocks most of the EMP blast from the succeeding Star formation. This helps from ruining any other systems that are not online and be able to access back up systems if other systems do go down.

Making it less of a pain to fix primary systems on the station.

I think permits are the way to unlock systems, follow the novel and here the wheel The Dark Wheel have a new name, I find this faction a good kandidate
Pi Mensae brotherhood

I'm going to have to spend good coin of the realm and buy those books..

Can you give us a snip Rudi to support your statement?

thanx, YB

The question: why in the Shinrarta Dezhra system the second star has a code number, and not a name? The dark wheel base is on the eighth satellite of the gas giant (their base is always on the dark side of the satellite...maybe). Access to the system only for the Elite (sending to the first Elite book; You will never see them without a rank, although relatively recently they have had expansion into the neighboring system, Inara check). If the player is new, then for him it will be a discovery - he will find the Dark Wheel for the first time (as in the legends). The system is located in the center of the habitable bubble, and is under the " our nose". Something unusual was not found in this system, maybe I was looking badly ( at that moment I heard a rumor about the system HIP13044, in some sense, I was shown the mystical system when I was at the base of the Dark Wheel, it came out mystically).

Let me dive into this "quest" in a light way, and ask u that have spent ages in this, cause some recent events on my travels kinda made me look into this, cause im one to think that there is no coincidences when it comes to certain things.

I have decided to do something close to the bubble, (mapping and exploring expedition), after doing 2 major distance travels of exploration, since in my fairly recent and little time in this game i saw that for the most part, the areas around the bubble are almost not explored at all, since ppl it seens preffer to go on long trips rather than actually knowing 1st what is around us (the bubble) and then move out from that.

And this story is all about finding this mytical place and its secrets and for that we need to dig into whatever data is available but also check all the systems out there.
I read alot about this at work in my downtime and i have huge respect for the ppl that spend this much time in a "virtual quest in a game" such as this one is. I am a old gamer and i spent hours on those adventure games for DOS, that were so interesting but hard, but rewarding when u actually got things done, so this lures me.

All this thargoid activity in and around the bubble has to have a connection at some point to this, is all tied up for sure, in some areas of space, when i get to them the thargoids, are not passive at all, they really come after me! This for me indicates that there is something around those places that they are protecting, or lokking for and dont want us there, MAIA is an area where i see this, and for me it is my starting point in search of answers.

I see the rank system and all this locked areas, some u can open with game events or achievements, others are perma locked but i bet there is a way to unlock those, we just didnt figure it out yet, and many clues or even the answer can be in those.

I have little to no clues or directions to take, but im sure that the more data i collect on systems, the more im helping out ppl like you that are searching for it.

So...
After all this "nonsense" and waste of your time, any pointers or directions on what i should be particularly focused on finding or reporting back to you when im doing this?
Any help appretiated.

Was just wondering if Raxxla is indeed a place, or merely a map to the place? Could it be that the name itself refers to separate star systems, with the target point equidistant from all six? Would tie in with the Codex image, and have been in the galaxy from inception.

'Course this has already been theorized, I'm sure

Welcome to the thread, cmdr.

My advice at this point is just to enjoy yourself and proceed with your investigations as you personally see fit.

Some stuff you might find will be new to some, and may well be old news to others. If it’s new to you then it’s new to you and you should have the fun of finding stuff yourself (where that’s practical).

Just be aware that there’s a great many mysteries, and not all roads necessarily lead to Raxxla.

Best of luck, cmdr. o7
