Roadmap leaked??

I'd definitely go with the latter. The structure of the CM isn't rigid and there have always been crossovers, plus they have recently advertised for a Community Manager position. Though we only have 2 CMs for Elite really and the other games have 4.

Elite Dangerous has a larger community than the other three combined (assuming Planet Zoo with have a similar size to PlanCo & JWE) so naturally requires much more CM attention

So the idea that a community manager would be covering more than one game is alien to you?

No doubt and it makes sense but they are hiring 1 more cm to replace ed and adding a whole new game to this list obviously this is speculation and me being the armchair game dev cm that I am knows best.....

It just reads to me that they will ramp down planet coaster I mean the last update they did were new rides but I don't remember seeing anything else major announced for released it does appear to be a game in decline (from the outside I would note I rarely play planet coaster so I'm not a specialist)

Yeah that's totally what I said...... great interpretation there.

I said theres a misbalance 3 cms for 1 game and 3 cms for 3 games makes no sense why not have 3 cms for 2 and 3 for the other 2?

Planet Coaster was released, then JWE which obviously was used for animals, a Safari or Zoo DLC was dismissed as coming for Planet Coaster. Add them all together and the next logical step was this being announced for the game being released this year. Plus of course the amount of time that people in the industry would have known about this for means it's much easier to get about.

The "leak" is still as transparent as it was the day it surfaced.

Nah, it's def firmed up a bit with this. The 'Planet Zoo' title was completely guessable, but they get bonus points for being in the right ballpark for announcement and delivery.

The JWE DLC info being exactly on the money definitely shores it up further though.

Personally I'm waiting for a few more hits (such as the alleged JWE DLCs for 2019, which are pretty detailed). But the leak is standing up at the mo...

Agree the thing is though if I look at the "leak" it does make me think what would happen if they announced it now?

The community would discuss the pros and cons of spacelegs and base building?

That would be a truly shocking twist to the forums it's why I hate fdevs communication approach

Guess we'll find out if the leak pans out ;)

My suspicion is we'd see similar stuff yeah. IE:
  • Ludicrous turf wars between 'Hard Legs' & 'Hard Atmos' guys.
  • Much dramatic leaving of game by 'Hard Atmos' guys, and refusal to let others have their things...
  • Ludicrous theorycrafting in the absence of details.
  • Everything going sour as the info spike runs out of juice.
  • Recriminations when the DLC doesn't match all the theorycrafting ;)
Just the usual stuff. I can see why they don't fancy it ;)

(EDIT: Or more specifically, I can see why they don't wanna try and feed a hype wave for that long with teaspoons of info. Let alone deal with the bonus 'but you promised' stuff re fever dreams & features that don't make the cut ¯\(ツ)/¯)

They may not fancy it but it will happen regardless why not focus the noise to get useful feedback.

Tbf though would require the dramatic shift in approach asking the community management team to care even slightly about the community not just about marketing

Yeah I kinda expanded on that a bit in an edit:

More specifically, I can see why they don't wanna try and feed a hype wave for that long with teaspoons of info. Let alone deal with the bonus 'but you promised' stuff re fever dreams & features that don't make the cut ¯\(ツ)/¯

Maybe but probably not I mean they kept the fact the docking computer now does takeoff as well secret for an unnecessary amount of months the chances of them confirming this are nil love a good speculation though

I apologise. I wanted to mean you in a general sense and didn't see a way to do it.
