It's not ignorant to expect a fully working product if you're expected to pay full price for it.
ED is fully working; but like all software, it has a bugs; and like all software on patch day, they've got some hotfixing to do. Again, par for the course since the first bug was ever made.
...I don't accept bugs and glitches as par for the course.
That's just unrealistic. There is no such thing as bug free software.
Bugs and glitches are
normal in software development, whether we like it or not (and as a developer, I probably like it even less than you do, lol).
Now, it is reasonable to expect the product to work and not be consistently downed by bugs, and with that, Elite: Dangerous passes.
There are a few iffy bugs that the devs are working on from this update; again, patch day yesterday, so bugs cropped up that weren't picked up in testing.
It's really not fair to attribute "shoddy workmanship" or "poorly made" to ED because some bugs cropped up on patch day.
I tolerate them as a reasonable person but if you're on the fence about a product then bugs and glitches aren't going to sway you to hop over.
For me, it depends on how severe the bugs and glitches are and how long they've been there; but then my decision is based on experience so I look at it differently.
I don't blame him and neither should you.
If his position was reasonable, or at the very least, not based on misconceptions, or ignorance, I wouldn't but it's not.
Anyway, I've said my piece.
Have a good evening, Cmdr. o7
