Roadmap leaked??

Exactly this totally understand secrecy about negative things i.e stopping development but the contingent that "wont be buying spacelegs" still wont buy them telling us now instead of later doesn't change the fact its spacelegs
I am taking a guess that there are two types in the "won't be buying Elite Feet" camp:
  1. Say they won't buy it, but will buy it anyway because they enjoy the game
  2. Say they won't buy it because they're part of the perma-salt and only come on this board to complain and/or are "other game" fanboys.
I think when people see whatever Frontier decide to show us is in store for 2020, the majority will be wanting a part of it.

Lego gaming ip is owned by warner bros. Company that produces lego games (Travelers Tale) is owned by warner bros.

Makes no sense they'd contract out a lego game to Frontier.

That's the main part that makes me skeptical.

If however, for some reason, WB have decided to outsource to FD, then it might be a good time to buy shares in FD. That's two major IPs rolled into one. Star Wars and Lego.

My guess is it will be walking around on planets with FPS against the Thargoids. They already have the nests which can be entered. If you locked down the stations so you have to land, get into the SRV or other vehicle to leave them then you don't have to bother about internals of buildings, so you can focus on the FPS combat experience. At the same time you can offer the facility to build bases as another strand of walking around gameplay. The base building could be used in the FPS fight against the Thargoids.

You forgot won't be buying it because they've already paid (7 years ago in my case).

The most compelling “proof” that the leak might be genuine? Frontier's complete silence about it.

Another company would’ve immediately released a statement claiming that the leaked information do not represent their actual business plan.
Frontier stay silent on a lot of things. Not denying something is not confirmation. Why should they comment on it? That would just give it credibility, something this thread has been doing for 470+ posts longer than is justified.

not a fan of space legs tbh but think in someway would be good for the game.
Base building i hope they dont put in there would be alot of bases all over the galaxy would be awful. they could exchange base building for creation of larger space stations put in by frontier themselves which intern opens up creation of larger ships!

To issue a statement that says "the leak in question is a forgery and does not at all outline our plans for the future" is exactly the opposite of "give it credibility".

The most plausible reason why they'd keep silent about it is that it is indeed genuine, and they hope we'll eventually stop talking about it. Not the only explanation, I agree, but a plausible one.

The galaxy is so big that you would probably never see another players base unless you were specifically looking for it. Imagine having your own base with a huge hanger with all your ships in it, it would be amazing to walk around and admire your armada 🤤🤤🤤.

I think base-building is a great idea too. Or at least it's one of the most fun aspects of things like NMS and Subnautica. And Frontier are good at building games. Gives them plenty of options to sell cosmetics in the shop too.

I'm not sure what percentage of players stay in the same system for long periods. I'm rarely in the same place twice. So build your own fleet carrier as much as build your own moon base.

Less sure about FPS, mostly because I can't see obviously how it would work, and also because Frontier have no experience of releasing FPS games and I'm scared they'll underestimate what's required. You really want a designer who lives for that sort of gameplay. But a FPS that revolves around playing in loads of different levels of gravity would set it apart from the crowd a bit.

And very sad if we're not getting atmospheric worlds in the near-ish future.
