Where do you call home and why?

CD-52 187 is my unremarkably named home. The combination of industry and agriculture reminds me of my own home in North Wales. Plus it's in a tight cluster of varied systems, there's a lot going on around there.

Mind you, being an explorer, I don't spend a lot of time there. I stop by when I'm passing through.

And when I get back to Colonia in a few months, I'm going to pick out a substitute home in a system there. Not sure which. It'll be fun deciding.

I'm based out of Sol right now. It was a great place to grind Federal Navy rank since all of the factions there are Federation allies. Every mission got me fed rank. I made Rear Admiral about a month ago, then I started to mine Void Opals to build my bank account to get a Corvette. Now I am visiting Jameson and scanning wakes to get encoded data for FSD engineering, but once I get my hands on the Corvette and engineer it I will head back home to Sol and figure out my next move.

* because reasons *

Also .. Eotienses, because my Cmdr is a Denton supportor (Pablo doesn't actually play PP; he's just loyal to Denton and the Empire).

Current 'home', like may others is Jameson because it is convenient. But seriously considering a move to Chris & Silvia's Paradise, just because I like the name - and it is an anarchy system :)

My ship is “home” because it’s the only place my feet touch the floor.

But for background story purposes, Achenar 3 would be where my commander grew up, and Ceres Tarn would be the closest thing that is considered “home”.

The gravity is comforting.
They don't touch the ground; we have foot rests.

I'm a space hobo, my home is wherever the ship I am currently flying is docking. I've only been playing about 2 months now, and I have changed "homes" every few days since I started, always chasing whatever my current goal is. Right now, that's building combat rank, so I've been chasing wars with one Empire faction (to support) throughout the bubble.

That being said, all of my extra ships are stored at Jameson Memorial, cause that's where I bought them all (I replaced the ones I already had with discounted ones when I unlocked the system). I don't consider it home, however, because i never operate out of the system.

LTT 1349 because it has decent outfitting, close to lots of useful POIs, and because the EIC is an Empire within an Empire.

Currently my main base is at Hiyya Orbital in Arjung. I'm there because its in Imperial space and I'm doing a slow rank up to buy a Cutter. It most likely will take a few months but I'm not a grinder; take my time and have fun.

Before that it was Artemis Lodge in Celaeno. I plan on moving back after I get my Imperial rank up. The outfitting is not very good but the economy is good (or was before the Thargoid attacks). If you like interesting stations setting in rings or near them I doubt there's many places as nice and close to the bubble.

Ray Gateway was before Artemis. Ray has a nice selection of ships and the outfitting is good too (w/ 15% discounts).

Zander Dock in Tepertsi. Originally drawn here by the lucrative slave trade, but it also had decent mining, corrupt navs, and wasn't that far to Jameson or Li. It's also a pretty good place to find good transport and smuggling, but I suspect anyplace you're highly ranked with the local factions is probably just as good. Been here for at least three years.

That said, toying with creaming this old guy and starting over (haven't played since January due to boredom), and I'll definitely find a new place to call home.

I had just started playing ED and I did a local delivery mission in Eravate to Tiptree Gateway I think. I was a nervous new cmdr approaching a scary base on a planet surface and suddenly greeted by this girl with a wonderful lilting Lancashire accent. That was when I realised that the game was going to be full of interesting surprises.

Home for me is anywhere where a spaceport orbits a ringed planet where the RESs don't move away from you at 100s m/s. Currently Iota Persei.

I picked LHS 20 by looking at the locations of all the engineers and then looking for a high-tech system somewhere near the "middle" of them all.
LHS 20 is also handy 'cos it has a variety of things like CNBs, IFs, mat' traders and anarchies nearby, which means it's a convenient place to do most of the stuff you regularly need to do in ED.

As usual, though, I'd say you should never make your home IN the system where you do stuff.
Never poop where you eat. ;)
