Once again 1 step forward and 5 steps back with FDev game play

Okay, the tone of what you are saying when writing. A bit aggressive. I just like to keep conversations civil. Like if we were talking face to face.
Aggressive? Tone?
Ok. These are words on a screen... You are the one implying aggression from your interpretation of words on a screen. You cannot understand 'tone' and 'sound' from the words I write. You can only place upon them your own inferences guided by your own delusions and misconceptions of what you are reading.
You might actually have to unpack what I have said and really break down your argument as to how I am relating aggression in the words you quoted.
Suffice to say... If we were face to face I would have said exactly the same thing and you would have had more 'data' to provide you with a complete picture of... Non aggression.
Frankly, i have no idea what you are going onnabout.

If you were face to face, would you be naked though?

Dud u not tell the op that you hoped he died over and over again?

OP - crap ship loadout
- doesnt understand basics of high/low wake
- 'forgets' to throttle down
- responds to peoples helpful comments with bad attitude
- Blames the game and the developers
- general all round snarkiness
No wonder people get snarky back.
Hope he continues to fly badly and lose more ships.
Sorry just found what u said, still a bit mean-spirited tho....

Ok Ill take that one. A bit mean spirited.
But at least im not mass murdering communist.
I mean that generally, as in not directed at anyone in particular and as in at least in my real life I am not a mass murdering communist.
Unless you include spiders in that.
I hate spiders.
No mercy to those things.

And he payed for it. Next time he wants to try a T-9, better to have some wingmen, at least until FDevs implement mercenary escort NPCs.

Actually I agree with this.

I've always wondered why FDev hasn't implemented NPC Mercs for hire.
It could be per run (out of dock, till next dock), or until the player dismisses them, just like crews.

Oh please save the platitudes. There are plenty of ways to play risky if that's what floats your boat. But not many ways to just chill on a Saturday and have some fun without looking over your shoulder. If you look above at the loadout you'll see I was rigged for some mining too. But guess what, you drop in and what comes along, and NPC to demand your haul. And so again, only way to mine is in a war ship. Only way to transport, war ship. etc. etc.

Unfortunately that's the game universe. I deep core mine mostly, and I get interdicted 50% of the time on the way back to port with the haul.
I could do it in a T9 for the big haul, but I'd prob get massacred just like how you said. So I do it in a Python with a military hull and A-rated everything.

Sure, I might have to do 3-runs to get the same haul as a T9. But at least I know I have the ability to fight back and survive all of the time.
You just have to arm yourself, wing-up, or fly a ship with the ability to defend itself.

If you ride into Indian country without a gun, who else can you blame?

So I returned after a long hiatus to do some flying around and maybe make some credits doing deliveries. I bought a type 9, loaded it out, and then stacked some delivery missions. Had 3 out of 4 done, had made 3 million so far, and was on my last delivery when I was interdicted by a Chieftain NPC. The reticle went completely off screen, I had no chance in the type 9 to avoid the interdiction. Then I made the mistake of not throttling down and the ship went into attack mode. Not that I wanted to lose the cargo and mess up my reputation on the mission. But no chance to get away, so it was $11,000,000 to rebuy. And there it is +3 -11= - 8 millon for todays fun. What a game. So enjoyable. The only safe way to deliver is in a ship that can fight like the anaconda which holds about half the type 9. So big crates are USELESS unless you are in a wing with protection. As I've stated before, all the ways to make bank have been plugged and all the ways to loose big are very active. Nothing's changed in 6 months.View attachment 132021
The lesson you have learnt here is not to fly a T9. I suggest getting yourself something a bit more manoeuvrable after a long hiatus as you will be rusty.

When I stack missions in my type 10 defender I always get pulled and then battered by some monstrous ship. However I find if I have a good rep in the system I am going to then the NPC police show up and we get the job done.

It seems we have had different experiences. I fly a T-9 loaded with 720T of what ever is cheap and sells high at the time in open mode all the time. I spend about 20% of my time these days trading but even when it was 90% I had no problems. I fly in a bubble within 30 LY of SOL. No wings for me - not trusing enough I suppose - and I'm not putting myself or my cargo's safety in the hands of people I do not know.

I've been successfully interdicted by a cmdr just once and got away after dropping out of SC.

In my experience the key to successful trading in open is to be very aware of who and what are around - especially when you're in a T-9 (I've never lost an interdiction attempt in my engineered T-7) so any potential threats can be avoided. You can't fight with a T-9 (at least I cannot) - part of why mine is named, "Lumbering Toad". It's not that hard to evade an interdiction by an NPC but for me very difficult to do against a cmdr. I don't have cmdr interdiction encounters all that often because I avoid them when in a merchant vessel but the ones I have had I've won or wore them down all except that one time. Tough to outfly 'em but you don't really have to - you just have to fly well enough that it takes minutes and minutes for them to win and most don't have the patience and just give up. But even if they do win making a high wake out of the area and only taking a few hits is easy enough if you've prepared for the possibility of getting jumped ahead of time. There's a very good you tube video about that. Don't recall who made it. Just search ED trading and you'll find it. The guy's advice is golden. It works and works well.

Trading in a T-9 can be very lucrative. It can also be nerve racking if you're hauling around milions worth of cargo (which is part of the fun). My only gripe is that fully loaded, mine can only jump 18.6 LY and that's with a G5 A rated FSD.

Don't give up on trading - it's a very lucrative business especially if one uses EDDB to find good trade routes.

This is a 500mj 5A Prismatic-equipped T9, surviving an attack from a PvP-fitted Corvette.

It has shield banks, and strong armor underneath. It carries just over 700 tons of cargo in its most heavily defended loadout. 750 when player threats are less likely.

You can survive in a T9 even without engineers— you’ll just have to sacrifice a little more cargo than you would without.
