Just a new experience really for this particular scenario. Some have tried to follow the Thargoids into witch space, but afaik no one has successfully made it.
Edit: Also Thargoids are a late addition to the game so reaching Raxxla using Thargs is unlikely.
Only unlikely if we are assuming Raxxla discoverable, rather than just existence from day 1. It's all still possible

At the time of the Eafots mystery, was first discovered/first mapped tagging bugged? From everything I've heard on this thread, I'm struggling to believe the amount of undiscovered goodies

There was no EAFOTS "mystery". The message was just to put us on the right track along the RR line towards the deep Rift and the Zurara. I wouldn't say EAFOTS is properly in the Rift... (Besides I'm still convinced that the "original" Rift position should have been one arm closer to the Bubble...)

EDIT: oops ! Ninja'ed by the psycho-penguin !

"Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light."

Drew wonders if his interpretation is correct, and they are signalling: "Yes it is".

The greatest challenge in this game is making sense of what it is; a video game, an Elite remake, a space simulation, a strategy game, arcade space shooter, rpg tabletop computer software. You have to believe in some fantasy to keep going. There had been such history in such rpg's and elite novels and personal journeys and space-trading clones, they thought the context was obvious. All those old fansites for older games are like that. All this "science" stuff is way too serious. That's why they are calling us illiterate, not talking enough fantasy, and novels. Elite itself, much in there is recycled ideas and tradition, Brabens pride is the contribution to the genre in form of a game made out of this stuff, and they've been crazy. But then, Braben probably isn't lying when he says "it's there", something like Capitol or New Africa or Olgrea 7 C or what you have probably fits the criteria. Thus also Palimpsest. But this time they were not reptilians. People forget, die, and legends are born. The citation in the beginning is not relevant.

Yeah I'm sorry, I was being lazy. Let me try again....
First mapped = answered
Given the abandoned settlements in the eafots sector, that were tied to the club, I am struggling to believe how many undiscovered goodies I am finding. Was the first discovered tags bugged during the period of high activity in this sector?

We should not be down hearted. Nothing has changed. Gan is very different to DW and R. For a start and probably most importantly he was ONLY in galnet and NOT in the Codex...
That's the disappointing thing. To find we've been fed so much fluff over the last five years via galnet, and what appeared to be a new strong storyline is just more fluff...
well, it's just too fluffy for words.
Must be dragon-related!

Tin foil hat time...
Welcome to the thread, Cmdr. ( Don't worry about your English, I already got our excellent fellow-threaders used to make an effort to understand my own pidgin English. ;) )
Imho, each of the verses of the toast directly describes Raxxla through images.
We hear the song/whisper of Raxxla everytime we use witch space. (I suspect that somewhere in the MW, its song must be more intelligible/ decode-able, sonogram.)
Raxxla sits inside witch space, which, by the way, is the deepest possible void.
The icon represents the six bridges, jump paths, that lead to Raxxla, along its singing (curved lines) and the dashes which are its natural obfuscation because of sitting in witch space.
Or, Raxxla sits in normal space but "sings" through witch space and is reachable through six specific jumps, where its song is louder/understandable.
Imho.

So now you're a pigeon?
Not another mad bird! :)

No, they weren't bugged - there's just a LOT of systems in EAFOTS.
I'm guessing you were expecting it to be like the Bubble - most everything explored - but even when it was the focus of activity, there still weren't that many commanders in the area. Plus the Conflux and Hawking's Gap areas were drawing attention too.

Basically, space is big ;)

Edit:
Also, since we disagree on everything, you'll no doubt be unsurprised to find that I never thought there was anything to find in EAFOTS beyond the bases (which we were spoonfed anyway).

yes, I never understood that EAFOTS clue, it seemed to pull us back towards the bubble...WHY?

My take on that was that prior to the Tionisla clues, everything about the Rift had been out-of-game. Those clues were intended for people NOT aware of the Rift mystery, not for the 'old guard'. Hence everything just amounted to a big arrow saying "Over there".

In NGC 7822 checking out ("piercing") all the black holes. Thought I'd found an undocumented, unscannable planet - turns out to be the Iris Neb a couple kylies away! FD still haven't corrected the bug where distant nebulae show up unobscured (even highlighted) by closer nebulosity. (first seen during early FRifting visit to Soul Neb- thought I'd found a Dyson Sphere! lol)
Darn, it takes a long time to travel 300kls in each system to check this hypothesis!
:(

Maybe you need to find a system with two BHs, then line them up and 'pierce' them both :D

Be grateful they fixed the bug with nebulae disappearing altogether.

Nah.. No pigeon nor Chinese/Asian .Was just to make a little variation instead of writing again: "my teribble Englich". ;)
While we're on the subject of birds, why does your avatar pic look like a headless orange penguin?
Not headless. Look closer. See his eyes? It's the drawing of a fat and immoderate beer drinker penguin ! That monstruous belly just hides most of his body ! :p
