Heh - what are the chances this is somehow related to the upcoming "scarcity" of barnacles?
Obvious salt farmer is obvious.Hence - instead of simply reducing the spawn rates they 'implemented' the nerf by forcing players to shoot and then watch materials disappearing to force more time investment.

The colliders on those shards are definitely wonky somehow, and I wonder if it's one of those things that varies with the graphics card you're using. My last visit to a shard site I didn't see any falling through the ground, but something like half wound up stuck embedded in the shard after shooting them. Fortunately the SRV cargo scoop also has a very generous bounding box, so it's easy enough to fly past and pick up the material when that happens. Did get my SRV stuck on shards a couple of times when I botched the landing though.
They (whoever They are) say it’s still faster than any other method to collect Raw mats... since you flew out there (30 jumps?) fill your bins up!
Clipping into the ground?
Some pilots say they don’t have the issue so I don’t think it’s a nerf.
I've seen it at all ranges. I can drop mats from long range, then hit 4 or 5 in a row that poof into thin air. It seems to balance out at around 50% so I often need one more hop to get a full cache.I have experimented with different approaches to collecting, and it appears, but this is only a personal feeling, the longer range you shoot them from the more likely they are to disappear, but even up close some still disappear, so if it does have an effect I don't think it's the only one.
Are you farming by reloading the instance over and over? I thought they nerfed that if so.I'm collecting crystalline clusters - polonium at the moment. I've shot several that just disappear as if I destroyed them, never fell and don't show up on the contacts list. Last time I was here doing this I never saw this happen. It's happening now over half the time.
Is this a new nerf feature or a bug?
