That was beautifully put. It's funny, because you feel there are no clues based on what was said, and I believe the opposite based on what's said, yet we both understand the human experience element to it and (I hope) the importance of that in this journey. The intricacies of the brains somewhat flaw with its need for pattern recognition really is compelling and complicated. It's a thought and worry I struggled with for a long time personally. At some point though, things just make sense, like the way Philip K ties quite nicely into our storyline. And the Pink Floyd connections which tie very well into the Architecture of Raxxla you speak of, we can be certain that this was intentional and the clues exist to support it. Mythology and Floyd are designed to lead you into yourself, and this is not me saying that Raxxla is inside you, though the quest for it can lead you there, and at this point from what I've heard from people along the way, I'm not alone in feeling this. But Floyd and the mythology are designed to get you to ask yourself the big questions people should be asking themselves while they can. Meanwhile, most of us are just wasting away in our rooms while the ivy grows over the door. :)

Great eye with the Prism connection. Lets not forget that Hope, such as in the Gateway system, is also a diamond.

Hope wiki- "The Hope Diamond is one of the most famous jewels in the world, with ownership records dating back almost four centuries. Its much-admired rare blue color is due to trace amounts of boron atoms. Weighing 45.52 carats, its exceptional size has revealed new findings about the formation of gemstones. "

Side track, Or that old British tv show,(Click here for the youtube) the Strange World of Gurney Slade, which also happens to be a system in game, we find this-

"The series follows the character of Gurney Slade, played by Newley, through a series of mundane environments (sound familiar?) with fantastical elements. Slade is the only continuing character, and is often heard in voice-over expressing his thoughts. Though we learn much about the character's inner life, we learn very little of Gurney Slade's history or background. He appears to be a character in a typical family-oriented TV show who abruptly tires of the artificial environment he's apparently trapped in; the first episode opens with Slade breaking the fourth wall of a television sitcom and leaving the set, to the protestations of its director.

Slade spends the rest of the series simply wandering from one (generally sparse) environment to another, ruminating on life in an often free-associative way. During his wanderings, he sometimes encounters a range of odd people (and at least one talking dog), all of which may be entirely creations of his own imagination. At one point, Slade is put on trial for being a TV character who isn't funny; other episodes consistently introduce meta-fictional elements into the proceedings. The series concludes with a final episode in which Slade, in a TV studio, appears to be little more than a machine-like performer whose every move is controlled by outside forces."

That though Slade was nutty, he was a Crazy Diamond. But he would likely be deemed a good man.

Glad to see a fellow constellationeer (made that word up) on board. I've got somewhere near 30 under my belt at this point. Argo Navis my personal favorite.

You chose the "reasonably obscure goal to work towards" package and at this point I'm not sure what package I opted in for.
I thought it was the "Quest for Atlantis and a unique life experience" package. Now I'm unsure.

Will someone please turn the machine off? Tech support?! Tech support!!! I just wanna wake up!
For the memory of a lifetime...World Craft World Craft World Craft...Call now.

Talking of 'constellationeers', I was very happy to discover that a commander by the name of 'Delta Lupi' had been first to map all the planets in Delta Lupi system :D

If there aren't clues why are we ALL treating the toast like a treasure map? A secret map hidden in a few lines of text would be a clue.

This idea makes me ridiculously irritated.

All ? Nope ! I already said that I am sure that the whole text refers directly and only to Raxxla. Besides, I assume TDW doesn't know where Raxxla is.
Only map ever in ED is (was) encrypted inside SAP 8 core containers and Trinkets of Hidden Fortune. :p
we should be looking for a tidally locked moon :D
'Raxxla is something different'.
Comet ? Asteroid ?

Raxxla is something different - not founders world (in context)

The thing that intrigues me is why is the “alleged toast” in the Raxxla codex entry, rather then the Dark Wheel codex entry where logically it should reside? Yes, the last two words are “To Raxxla”, but that is contextually insufficient reason for moving it, so I surmise that it is actually a clue. Or rather a hint as to where to look for the start of the journey.

Edit: there’s a comet in van maanen system? Tyko’s currently working for the permit; I’ll have a look, don’t think I’ve visited a comet yet.

Edit2: No comet at Van Maanen Star's Thurston Gateway. It orbits the white dwarf star, with orbital period 2630666 days, semi major axis 32798984192 km.
Still, rescued some poor blighter who'd no fuel on the way there.

Correct me if Im wrong but the Codex was the first in-game feature to mention Raxxla, all it does is 'maybe' confirm its there, what it actually does is confirm its a myth that many people have wasted their lives searching for...since 1984 approximately....so what it actually does is re-introduce a much loved bit of lore back into the game but in the same mystical sense it always was. It doesn't actually do anything else.

Some things a tiny bit obvious is the quote, not it a tiny bit obvious. Read into that what you will, I certainly do :0

Saw another YT vid recently that I have happily read into, at one point the Q comes up in chat about Raxxla and DB as usual deflects....then takes a drink (and in my mind is thinking, what can I say?....then says 'You don't know what it is yet'....to my mind he has thought while drinking and the only information he can give safely is that. There was no need for that comment, the drinking broke up the flow of that question, in my mind DB decided to give that info.

So we dont know what it is, let alone where it is, but makes me wonder if the 8th moon will mean anything, and theres more than few tidally locked of them Ive found, just mundane now.

Remember Salome? 2 years people spent delving into ancient myths and legends to solve it and it turns out to be a 'print it out, chop it up and move it around a bit' columnar based solution that had nothing to do with any of it, sometimes people miss the obvious looking for the clue.

Codex was the first feature to mention the word "Raxxla", yes. Before that, it had been called " The Myth."
The One Which Has Not To Be Named !

"You don't know what it is, though"... the next incoming question in the chat. Imho.
He was just calming a suddenly very nervous Will, who was fearing that he should have filtered the inconvenient questions that could make his Boss feel uncomfortable.
'What a silly question ! ' . (What a silly answer !) Just look at their faces and body language. They both feel quite annoyed.
This episode is the one which makes me think that, currently, Raxxla is fluff most.

The Floyd thing was easy to tie in because of the themes which they wrote about - once you start with the Dark Side of the Moon album cover and Salome coming from Prism system everything else is just 'join the dots'.
Join the dots to make emerge a... pattern ? :p
Aaah those patterns ! We can't escape from them ! (As you very well explained..)
"You have to make it a little bit obvious" according to MB. This implies that the clues exist.
No, I don't think so.
There will be no clues you already said, " Mmmh.. that's true. But I think you have to make some of it a tiny little bit obvious, so people know what they are doing ".
Exact wording, I think. So no clues.
The problem is, nobody currently knows what he is doing, so nothing obvious is left (since they took the E/F missions off,) for now.

One can get a pattern from almost anything in ED. There are so many names to chose from.

A funny pattern I found when looking at El Dorado, goes as follows:

El Dorado is also a poem by Edgar Allan Poe: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eldorado_(poem)

Eldorado
Gaily bedight,
A gallant knight,
In sunshine and in shadow,
Had journeyed long,
Singing a song,
In search of Eldorado.

But he grew old—
This knight so bold—
And o'er his heart a shadow
Fell as he found
No spot of ground
That looked like Eldorado.

And, as his strength
Failed him at length,
He met a pilgrim shadow—
"Shadow," said he,
"Where can it be—
This land of Eldorado?"

"Over the Mountains
Of the Moon,
Down the Valley of the Shadow,
Ride, boldly ride,"
The shade replied—
"If you seek for Eldorado!"

As can bee seen in the Analysis section, the word 'Shadow' is a key as it changes meaning in each section. It ends with the "pilgrim shadow" who points the way through "the Valley of Shadow".

The Valley of the Shadow of death is originally called 'Sheol', in the Hebrew bibel. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheol

Sheol is of course a moon in ED. It's in the DC-65 76 system, orbiting the same ELW (Jessica's Folly, terraformed) as the station 'Alex's Rest'.

It's at least nice to know how far Alex got. ;)

Mmhh.. Being pedantic, I'd say right name id not Eldorado, the Eldorado and such, but El Dorado.
Watch this, different wordings and translations may help when searching systems and so.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Dorado

I don't think there is an 'EL Doradus' system. Not in RL and not in ED.
Only 'EL Aquarii'.

As mythology goes, the names El Dorado and Eldorado are both used without any significant distinction.

A thought I had just a moment ago about the possible prerequisites of a dark wheel invitation.

Has anyone achieved all the trophies/achievements in game yet? I'm sure they are the same across all the platforms. It would be useful to confirm this as I've know other games to use something like this. In gta5's story mode if you 100% all the goals you get Easter egg alien space ships around certain parts of the map at certain times.

It would certainly be a test of skill be and courage considering there are quite a few to achievements and it's not something that is usually known to be easy to do in games.

Thoughts?

Edit: nevermind. It seems there isn't really that many and looking at them they don't seem all that difficult. Bummer would've been nice though 😔
There is still one trophy that I think gives me hope

That's right, "the golden man"
supposedly because the Aztec king was coated in gold dust before bathing in Lake Titicaca annually as part of some ritual or other.

there are no trophies in-game for PC players. There are a load from EDSM but that's not pukka. Might be related to system permits, but there are about half a dozen apparently without a granting authority.
