I'm loving your outraged indignation at their outraged indignation...you know what...yes I'm going to do it
I have outraged indignation at your outraged indignation because they have outraged indignation....the circle is complete...you're welcome
Protip: None of the paintjobs are "worth" any real money at all and they never will be.
They are part of a "pay what you can" funding model for a larger purpose, like NPR or other community supported projects. You aren't buying a souvenir coffee mug for that $30...
One on the left side, please... I think.Shocking or Pastel ?
I agree with those who feel that the store icon in the station screen is way too far. Frontier this change needs to be reversed as soon as possible. I have bought several cosmetics for the game and have been happy to support you. I am also not angry with Arx as a concept. However, it should have been obvious from the outset that experienced CMDR's were going to be upset by the overabundance of Arx in the game UI. Please try harder to understand your experienced players Frontier. We are still your bread and butter as far as Elite Dangerous is concerned. We aren't feeling the love right now.
The fact that you folks didn't throw experienced CMDR's a small bone doesn't help either. Even a gesture like when the 2nd seat was added to the Keelback I think would have been great (i.e. fixing the type-7 for medium pads would have been a nice one, tweaks to the missions system for space truckers, anything really).
I am feeling a little taken for granted here Frontier. Not good.
I don't spend my free time with the expectation to get constantly asked for money. The blue store icon was designed specifically to stand out and grab attention which is why people (including myself) are up in arms about UI language and design. This is immersion breaking and distracting.
The ARX conversion is not pro-consumer, as the only reason to do this is to obfuscate costs and be able to jack up prices later, while playing on the psychological strain of keeping a balance in an account that you don't control. (I buy 1500 arx, spend 1035, I have some number left and the transaction is still "open".)
Those who turn around and think that this was done to "Benefit Players" have been fooled by EA, Ubisoft, Tencent, etc.

Mate, stop watching Angry Joe videos!
but if you have a product that can be duplicated with a simple 'copy and paste,' it isn't worth anything.
Look at this assumption that I watch Angry Joe. Shame the assumption is wrong.
There's nothing wrong with Angry Joe laugh at the comedy, don't take the outrage seriously as its just part of his act (clue's in the name).
You can trust the score out of 10 though*.
*warning video games are extremely subjective your preferences may not align as closely with Joe's as mine do
I like @Bigmaec avatar, but I think mine is more appropriate for this thread

Speaking as someone creating digital art which could in theory be copy and pasted, you're wrong there. Otherwise I wouldn't make money. The truth is, that all digital assets are ultimately worthless, FD might have spent thousands of development hours creating them, but if you have a product that can be duplicated with a simple 'copy and paste,' it isn't worth anything.
It's true your purchase could be lost (will be at some point) when the game is dead, but that applies to the game itself too. Is the game worthless too, for you?Hence the need to restrict supply and artificially boost values by sticking them behind a paywall and in a skin/decal viewer designed to show them off to the community in the best possible light in the hope of stoking some desire, but it should be noted when you buy digital extras you're not getting anything real in return, if FD ever pull the plug on the servers you'll have nothing to show for your hard earned cash.
Contempt. Reasonable response? To a minor change to a product you say you've spent lots on in the past? I mean we're not being fleeced, are we? Contempt, it's bizarre. This is something that I've wilfully ignored since 2014 and bought lots of ship skins etc to support FD, but I'm so 'impressed,' with this latest update that I'm never going to spend a penny of any real world money on FD ever again. At the moment I have nothing but contempt for FD, because it's so obvious they have nothing but contempt for us.
I suspect they do, even if one customer is unhappy. In this case it just happens to be you.Edit: Rule 1 of business is: 'Understand your customers.'
Its a tough job, but someone has to do it. I regret that i only have one avatar to give for something or other.Well, selflessly changing one's avatar will certainly help others in the forum identify the heroes in our midst. * wipes away tear * Thank you all for your service.
