Nah, we can hope for all microtransactions to go away and all money be generated from regular awesome expansion packs.
Hope is easy, you can hope for anything.

I dont think thats really true, judging by the last patch i think one might truthfully say that its continuing to be molested, or interfered with.
But unless the optimal end state is ED being unplayable, i dont think you could say that its continuing to be developed. At least given the recent "improvements".

Having one element be a different color is the problem. (I still use the default, but only because the tweaks screw with radar colors...)

With all the bugs there are to fix let's protest the store that actually works. This is dumb. Who cares where the store button is. We can't engineer our modules. Let's focus on things that matter, then you guys can pat yourselves on the back and act like you're doing something important with your protest. Either way what you're protesting sounds like whiny spoiled rich kids crying and that's going to be my opinion of all of you with this icon. Congrats babies
The idea with protesting the icon and the store boycott is that we demonstrate that we arent going to fall for a cash grab delivered with a broken game, then they realize that their income might be dependent on delivering quality software and we dont have to put up with more broken game updates.
So you see there is a connection between the store boycott/protest and the fact that you cant engineer modules atm, if FD starts to think that their income might be dependent on the quality of software they deliver and not just on the amount of cosmetics they sell, we might end up getting a better game.
And remember they already have our money, so the only way we can affect the quality of ED patches is to demonstrate that we arent suckers.

It was either buy for cosmetics or a subscription model. I prefer to buy cosmetics when I want to.
I really do not understand this microtransaction phobia people have.
No one spends money unless they want to. Obviously no one who is protesting planned on spending money anyway so the protest is pointless. Boycott actually playing the game if you want to achieve something. As long as you're playing they look like they did good.

The people who complain loudest are almost invariably ex-players so FDEV will never notice their boycott at all.
Those were the options presented yes.
The reason I have a "phobia" of micro transactions is that it always affects the games development priorities. It's a necessity to design things that will work with that model in mind.
If all the money comes from expansion packs, the focus has to be on making truly good and regular expansions.
Before this update several times i stopped myself from buying paint jobs because i didnt like the direction of the game and the updates.
Occasionally my will power would lapse and i would end up with a paint job for my FDL or corvette, but since they put this arx scam in place i dont think i will buy anything else, the transaction is just too complicated and i like to know up front what im paying for something.
So maybe your right in thinking that, but pre arx i did sometimes make an impulse buy.
For me its not so much a phobia as it is distaste for a scam. I bet i have 20 paint jobs for my corvette alone, but im not touching the arx scam.
Imo obscuring the real cost of an item is tantamount to theft and im not condoning that with my participation.

The real cost is easy to work out with some very basic maths.

But i think you are right in implying that arx is for people who are bad at math.
