Animal Wishlist + Petting Zoo + Herding and more interactions

Porcupines, Prairie Dogs, Penguins, Seals and Sea lions, Mooses, Tamanduas, Manatees and my all time favorites Capybaras. A petting zoo area would be cool as well and of course birds like eagles, owls, vultures etc. Maybe even like the vivariums so you can build different sizes of aviaries and put the birds inside. More and better interactions between the animals like herding or baby animals following their parents.

Seals and sea lions will not be added nor manatees as this is a mostly land base game with very few exceptions it would just be to hard do introduce marine animals and habitats to the game. Plus seals, sea lions and manatees are ugly asf 😂.

Nah I’m joking but it would be almost impossible, and birds could not be added due to the fact that they would fly away unless their wing were clipped which is often seen as cruel and inhumane unless an aviary system was introduced which would more then likely be impossible. Thanks for you input though, some great ideas just a few issues.

Seals and sea lions are land based + water based animals like the crocodiles, hippos etc. I think this would be possible and not that unlikely for the game. But I see your point with the Manatees, still would be funny. :D

And with the birds, an aviary system with different sizes (small, medium, big, very big) and a similar system like the vivariums should make birds not that hard to be added. Or even modulary buildable aviaries just like the enclosures but with a closed roof. I think the bigger difficulty would be to animate flying birds, but I have faith in FD, they already did great job in animating the animals by now. :) An aviary dlc would be awesome and would make the zoos more interesting and realistic.

Wow! Who died and appointed you the voice of Frontier? Maybe try to be a little less condescending.
Both marine and flighted bird expansions are fully expected by the community. Frontier appears to have laid some groundwork for some of these systems already. A fully enclosed water tank can already be made out of fencing pieces. Roofed buildings that contain animals can already be made. The physics for collision are already there. Building an aviary would largely be as simple as changing the provided glass pieces out for netting and other alternatives. The big new feature for birds would be the flight and perching animations. With the ground breaking work that has been done on the free-form climbing animations I believe that the Frontier team is up to the challenge.

Yeah it would be amazing to have such diversity in the animals in our zoo personally I have nothing against the idea just on launch it will be nearly impossible due to a whole new set of animations and features. Maybe in a dlc although it is one of the less requested. I don’t understand that guys reaction I just gave him a bit of feedback on the ideas.

P.s the bird thing sounds kinda cool having bald eagles in you zoo would be amazing especially if there is a aviary system this would also allow for nearly unlimited animals to be added with 10000 different bird species in the world such as hummingbird etc, imagine having your main attraction being an albino eagle that’d be pretty cool.

Frontier has already chosen to do volumetric water vs shader based like they had in their previous games, so clearly they're already thinking about how animals will interact with water. Saying adding marine animals is "almost impossible" is inaccurate. There are already hippos and crocodiles/gharials in the game that swim in water??

And for your bird comment, what do you think peafowls are? Lol. Peafowls can fly quite high and long distances, so the fact they don't in the game could already be assumed their wings are clipped.

I definitely second all of the animals that you've called out here and I really hope they add an aviary system, not /fence piecesjust for birds -- but for small mammals (ex: monkeys, arctic foxes, animals in the weasel family, small cats, etc) as well. Those are pretty common habitats in zoos (e.g., a lot of primate houses in the U.S. are built to be entirely indoors with outdoor exhibits along the building perimeter so the animals have both indoor/outdoor exhibits).

I know we can build the domes for that sort of effect, but I'm talking about something on a smaller scale with fine mesh for the fence (and ceiling).

It's probably my biggest wish for the game if I'm being honest about it.

Seals and sea lions to me wouldn't be to hard unlike adding most birds or impossible as yes they spend a lot of there time in the water but they also spend a portion of there days on land to sunbathe or resting even giving birth its kinda like the gharials in real life like crocs and aligators. They would spend a lot of there time in the water only to come on land to breed sunbathe find water if there's dry up or sometimes food of it close enough to water.

They would most likely be like the other animals that can go in water but with a few differences like they would go in water and swim but unlike where most can come on and walk about on land and stay on land and walk about for ages. The Seals and sea lions will most likely be programmed to stay near water and be in the water a lot more only coming out to feed on the feeders or sunbathe basically they wouldn't go to far from water so i dont think it would be hard for them to be put in.

also yea its mainly got land based animals but dont mean they wouldn't add Seals and sea lions yea a lot of zoo animals are mainly land based but there are ones that have Seals and sea lions though i dont think they will be added in strait away kinda like with Jurassic world evolution they add new creatures over time in dlc or free update. Most likely will be a arctic dlc or something like it though not all Seals and sea lions live in the arctic so they could come in a coastal dlc or anything down the line.
