October Community Update Discussion Thread

I think that their decision to improve the game by eliminate as many bugs as they can is not a bad decision , probably something that should be done a long time ago.But with even a single tip of what might be coming next year , without fleet carriers until summer 2020 , no ice planets , no new ships??? , i can't seem to find something to keep playing the game.Interstellar Initiatives don't offer something changing even the one with advanced multicannon . Don't talk about arx rewards because it is a joke! Overall the game is very good but the people who have already spent thousands of hours like me need something new until the game changing update comes.

Speak about yourself, please... You use the word "people" rather than "I".... ;)

I have over 10k hours in this game, and I still enjoy the sandbox part of it. :)

And as for Horizon, with additions for a few more years for our greatest happiness.

Beyond gave me LOTS of fun things to do (love the new layers of Mining, improved Trading, and yes... I am a fan of the new Discovery mechanics as well)... Even the smaller updates during 2019 are usefull to me (Advanced DC and SuperCruise Assist) are something I enjoy alot (because I do get lazy at times). :D

Yes, you lied, since you did state, as a response to what I wrote, that "Next Era" has been worked on since 2015, which is a lie. But, of course, you are free to move your goalposts around as much as you want. Typical rule techniques to fit your agenda.
Lol, I've said the last paid expansion was in 2015 and the next is in 2020.

Your initial response to me was that "the new era" had been worked on since 2015... I called you out on that. And this is how you treat me? Moving goalposts.

I'll move on, and I do hope you will too. :)

Thanks, that's definitely useful, but not quite what I meant.

Does the playerbase at large tend to congregate more here, or on other platforms? I see discussion here, but all the major news I see outside of official announcements tends to originate elsewhere.

I would say Reddit, these forums and the Steam Elite community section are prolly the most busy hotspots for discussion and news.

In terms of official news devs also post them to Elite’s social media channels in Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc

I'll just continue flying my ship when I'm in space mood. As long as I can still do that I'm fine.
Whatever complains I have about the game have nothing to do with bugs or postponed updates or combat balancing or the devs in general. I am actually glad they take the time to polish stuff. Never a wrong move.
Apart from that, I just want my space sim. :)
Fly safe, or dangerous, or whatever you like. o7

I'd like the Betas to be well organised. A good guide to reporting issues in a Beta would be useful, and should include advice on providing evidence.

FDev shouldn't be shy about letting us know how we can best help them.
^^^^^^
This, I so hope we get this.

Haven't read all the posts here or on the associated announcement thread, so this may well already have been discussed. But as someone who (a) hasn't done everything currently on offer in the game, by a long way, and (b) hopes to be playing for years to come, I'm not terribly upset abut the delays to new content that I would probably not have got around to exploring for a while anyway.

But I really hope that the "bug fixing" campaign involves some updating and hardening of the core code so that future additions can be made more easily. By which I mean with fewer stumbles, delays and associated drama on the forums.

Apparently, this seems to be Frontier's main goal.

Secure the future of the game.

What i really don't want to see from FD is the attitude of, 'we'll fix the highest community voted ones'. Nonsense, they need to fix as many as they can, not cherry pick bugs to fix. Everything from battle damage disappearing from ships when you change instance (why can't this just work like paint wear, we fix it when we want to?), undercarriage sinking into landing pads, (all ships do this when you land), undercarriage not compressing on landing (featured in cockpit, just not out of it), broken windscreens only seen from cockpit view (not externally), broken missions, keyboard lockups blah blah blah. All need doing, well at least as many as possible...pretty please

A question came to my mind :

What are we supposed to do with the Billion(s) of Credits that were originally earned to satisfy Carrier cost?
In the December Update, will there be some form of new large Vessels as a spare Credit purpose and short-term Carrier substitute? Panther Clipper or something like that maybe.

( asking for a friend ;) )

Be realistic, there will be nothing in December.
