And it shows when people jump in mentioning stuff thats out of date several years but how much ED changed in the meantime doesnt matter. Only their outdated snapshot does.
Star Citizen runs the risk to experience the same. Regardless how much of a game it ends up to be many people will remember the developing time or maybe their own interaction years ago and wont bother with giving it another chance.
This forum being biased towards ED also comes from the fact that so many trolls and white knights think they can hurt the critics by bashing ED so in response we evaluate and discuss the points brought up against ED in the process. Too bad that ED does in fact provides a more refined and complete game then SC does. But that our discussions and arguments center around ED so much is in part the peoples fault who bring it up in defense of SC. Then turn around and cry that this thread is biased.....sorry...not how it works.

Ok I been playing a bit 3.8....and not sure what to said....I like weather implementation it looks cool,New Babbage looks pretty and now there is overall more things to do in SC but still it is kind of boring to run around even on those new places and most of the time you will run/walk and travel...oh yeah maybe occasionally you will lay down in the bed in your ship and press alt/tab to watch youtube.......now I really can't repeat myself again about the negative side of the game but seems like the 3.8 is even more unstable then any previous versions,sometimes I can play 30-40 min sometimes even more but sometimes game will snap or even freeze my PC after 5-10min of playing,seems like there is no rule when and why is going to happened also there is a million of new bugs....all in all if you already payed for SC 3.8 is worth of trying.....

Its kind of a dry read and you gotta accept that he is using negative language to paint a certain picture but either he is lying through his teeth regarding the data (at which point he would become sueable by CIG for defamation) or he provides accurate data and CIG cant do anything else then hold still and hope it washes over. Regarding the numbers this project isnt going anywhere. Without becoming analytical I had that gut feeling for years now but CIG will have the last word on this question of course.
I m just not going to accept some SC white knights trying to move the goalposts to suggest that what the PU is right now is a complete game, already better then game X and look to other games shortcomings to somehow elevate SC in the process and that even if SC fails its some kind of success. It lacks respect (these other games still released, SC didnt). It lacks knowledge and its often outright delusional. I am not respectful to SC either but I am in the position that I am going to have to eat my words if CIG ever delivers what it promised. For that to happen I expect 100% completion, not 20, not "a good try" and certainly not the realitiy that some delusional fanboys dream up. Also even if I m not respectful toward a corporate entity that doesnt make it okay to offend or attack me personally, something that the common SC fan seems to think is acceptable.

Yeah - about those timeouts - I think they’ve reintroduced a networking bug from quite some time ago. On multihomed systems (i.e you’ve got more than one network card) you’ll be playing fine for about 8 or 9 minutes or so and suddenly hit complete instability. Workaround is to disable all but one network adapters.
That is from last year.
I feel for the CIG devs who are having to crunch all the way to Xmas morning to get 3.8 in somewhat of a playable state

The physics is completely spot on though, can’t argue there.
