Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

I'm using the Cytoscramblers on my Chieftain and I like it. Perfect use of the 3 small hardpoints to me!
Yep. I imagine they would be perfect for the two small hardpoints on the Mamba as well. Then just stroll up behind a ship ,, and then... ZAP!!! No shield. Time for the cannons.

Right now I'm grinding rank for a permit, in the gold plated Corvette. Went to a low res and some jerk stole 3 ton of my bromellite, so now I only have 52 left and I need 50 for the engineer :p Stored a shield booster and swapped it for a point defence near my cargo scoop. Should hold those stealin' limpets away. The Corvette with two MCs overcharged autoloaders, and the rest of the slots filled with beams is a beast, but I still haven't found out how to shoot hatch breaker limpets..

Holy cows and christ on a bike....

Reactive Surface Composite for the Corvette cost nearly half a billion. To put it into perspective, my current engineered IN VERREM has a value of 521 million credits, adding that bulkhead = 965mn, resulting in a raw armour strength (lightweight alloy, no engineering) going from 4477 to 5632.

Just wait to see how much more you can squander on a Cutter.

I don't get it.

Can someone explain to me what the numbers stand for in raw amour strength.

If you take the much cheaper military grade, egineered heavy duty G5 with deep plating gets it up to 5563, so the difference to reactive surface composite with the same level of engineering is zero, standing at exactly the same value of 5563 raw armour strength in coriolis.

Military Grade engineered =169 mn =1846 Bulkheads = 5563 raw armour strength
Reactive surface engineered= 443 mn = 1846 Bulkheads = 5563 raw armour strength

Ok, to whom it may concern ;) Riddle solved.

Resistance:
Reactive - Explosive 44.7%, Kinetic 46%, Thermal 29%
Military - Explosive 29%, Kinetic 34.6%, Thermal 39.6

Personal ccnclusion, with Grade 5 bi-cycle Thermal Resist- fast charge, Reactive does make sense.

I went heavy duty and engineered it - that other stuff seems so expensive - and I only do RES combat in solo. I'm guessing all that fancy armour'd be better suited to the PvP afficiandos although I could be way off.

Yeah but now that I fly the IN VERREM, she will get the full treatment, at the end it is a few hour strip mining painite with cost at Liu Yong lower if I pledge, which I plan anyway for weapons.

Really should try CZ, especially the medium CZ with spec ops are good fun!
There is a trick to spec ops, if you want an exciting time attack them in alphabetical order, Alpha first, and they will all gang up on you, leave the Alpha till last and usually it and the others ignore you and your victim. It helps to wait until they are picking on someone else first.

I was looking at some builds by a well known CMDR (Exigious) who knows his PVP stuffs. The main difference between his PVE and PVP builds for his Krait MKII was the armor. The PVP version used the Reactive armor, and the PVE used the Military stuffs. I remember reading a whole thread about it, but can't find it now. Anyway, it does apparently make some difference.
