LOL - awesome, flattering and somewhat tempting suggestion but, if we were to have an Elite: Dangerous representative (and that sounds like a brilliant idea!), then I think perhaps that would be better served by one of our streamers like Obsidian Ant, Bognogus, Exigious, Ghost Giraffe, Down To Earth Astronomy, etc who can present something a bit more multimedia and who know a bit more about astronomy than I do. Genuinely, thanks for the shoutout tho' - that's very kind of you!

Ok folks, how about it? Whether Alec or someone with good astronomy knowlegde, or even a fuel rat ( which I would like a lot too, he/she needs to bring a fuel scoop! LOL )

My line of thought is this:

If enough people like that idea, there should be a way to cover expenses, via crowd funding, and if we start that, I would write to Frontier, suggesting them to participate in covering costs.

Perhaps it would be nice to have two, one from Frontier, Kate Ross?, and one from the community.

Just an idea.... but Elite with it's long history and user base to go there, all I can say, if I would be in Management at Frontier, I would have picked up the phone to ESA already.... well, ideally I think David himself!

The journey is underway.

With some research, I understood B3 in Synuefe NL-N C23-4 is the place to be. So, without any more delay, off I went. The journey, as I'm sure most CMDRs are familiar with, goes something like this:

• "Frendship drive, chaching. 4.3.2.1. Engage"
• Honk.
• "This could be an interesting system! Let's explore!"
• "Oooo look! A TWW! CRs!"
• "Fuel scooping"
• "Fuel scooping complete"
• "Warning. Temperature critical" Beep beep beep"
• "Frendship drive, chaching. 4.3.2.1. Engage"

And so it goes on and the journey, a mere 18 jumps in the end, took longer than expected.

So, I arrive at the place I need to be and see there are four ancient sites. Hmm. Let's see... The first one I arrive at looks like this:

That didn't seem to correspond to what I'd researched. Angle up to 90 degrees, throttle 100%, escape vector bound.

Try another site. Um, no, I don't think so. Move along.

Colour me confused - the shindig is supposed to go down at Darmstadt. That's Wine country - if you can call it wine... And we're talking at least three days, including arrival and departure.

Spent some more time mat gathering and engineering on the alt account. I'm having fun with it. It gives me reasons to do stuff I haven't done in a while.

This is Longsight Base. I think. Anyway, I liked the gritty spaceport vibe of it.

The 'conda now has almost ok shields and grade 3 dirty drives and is carrying a full complement of weapons. No engineering for them yet. But the ship is starting to feel more like an armed miner than a sitting duck, hehe.

Stopped in at an old haunt, another place I haven't been to in ages. The feeling of nostalgia was actually pretty nice

And I found out something I didn't know before. If you scan a ship from the SRV turret (by targeting it and pointing the turret at it), you can sometimes get data that way, just like when you scan a ship from your ship.

It's also amusing to pick up something like Flawed Focus Crystals and have it be a "NEW DISCOVERY!!!".

Fun fun.

Well just following Mr To'F in the Combat ranking grind. Taken 10wks. My crd balance is now a clear 1.5B crds. Does this buy me a Fleet Carrier DIY kit...??

The effort to get through the ranks from expert to master is crushing...
My laptop system cannot sustain frame rate above 40 FPS, and is usually at 20 and below.
In the heat of battle the FPS goes to 9 and below. Targets can be on the opposite side of the sensor consecutive screens.
This can easily result in bounties and notoriety for target friendly hits.
The road to Combat elite seems it will cost a new power laptop....humm..does 1.5Bcrds get me a ...maxed out ROG Zephyrus S (GX701GXR)

Woohoo! Well done! It's taken me nearly two years to get that far!

As for your lappy... I don't think you need state of the art to get fantastic FPS. My rig is 4 years old and plays as smooth as so a modern system, even a budget model, should do well.

But this ROG Zephyrus S (GX701GXR) will be one of those moments like...
Should I buy the jam doughnut or the quarter slice of black forest cake....with coffee
Should I buy the beige old volvo or the flaming red Lamborghini......I went with the volvo...so far working on the alt account.
Should I buy the green Adder or the midnight black cutter...with the whaale tailly....got that at least.

It won't even pay for the packaging.The closest one is 78 billion earth light miles.
