Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Taking the Python (that sat in the hangar for two whole years) for a shake-down cruise:

Boom! The moment when the blastewave buffets the ship - you can just see the shield flaring, and the auto-compensating from the engines is apparent.

I'm about 1km from the blast, it barely jostles the ship, but if adds to the experience

I did get a much better shot of this moment with my mining Adder on my 'open only' account, but for some reason the images didn't get saved - I probably pressed F11 or some such in my feverish state o_O

Yeah, like many others (feel better soon CMDR's!) I have the post-holidays lurghy 🤒 so time for an 'early' night before I cough my way into a docking bay without clearance or something!

Wow! Note, the star might already have exploded due to the distance, it takes 700 years to reach us.

Yeah, right. Some people will say anything to get a laugh.
I suppose it makes a change from the other parts they're often found scratching.( Pluto's not a planet??? Urania sends her regards.)

Impressive hardware you have, and a nice Haiku quote it is. Is it from Basho's "The Narrow Road Through the Deep North"?

Corvette goes bang bang
"No! No! I don't believe it!"
Synthesise ammo

This is my haz RES experience so far. Those multicannons really do chew through small calibre ammunition. I feel like I have five "Old Painless" rattling my fuselage.

Just refitted my Krait mk II to take passenger missions in order to get some modular terminals for Marco Qwent. Learning that they're not that common...took a mission with 20 as a reward, turns out the passenger was wanted in the destination system. Went silent running at top speed, messed up the line and slammed into the letterbox entrance. Failed the mission with 42% of my hull left.
Dust myself down, patch myself up and we go again...

, turns out the passenger was wanted in the destination system.

My (admittedly limited) passenger carrying experience is that

a) They are almost all crims trying to lie low, though they don’t ever say that.
b) The odd one that isn’t on the run from the law is a PITA wanting deviations from the itinerary, special items, etc

self-loading cargo was more trouble than it was worth, for me :)

'Criminal Vacations Ltd-your welfare is not our concern.'

Running Pythons outta Robigo.
Observe scrawled sign taped to airlock: 'Customer Services Dept'.

I did always think your sig was connected with taking those dubious passengers that “just want to get away for a while” with their “friends” :D Always gives me a laugh, seeing it!

I hear Robigo mines are a good place to rack up some credits doing that. All the same, I’ll stick to exploding rocks if I want loadsamoney in a shortish space of time :)

Thing is, all this stuff about VOpals, Robigo runs get you money, G5 mats and rep with Sirius thingy.
Not as much fun now, as the interdictions have dropped right off.
I really liked dropping into the tourist beacon followed by the shmack shmack of two baddies dropping in. :D

Nice work!

In 2016 an exciting mission was ended.
The Rosetta spacecraft made its final manouver. A controlled hard-landing on the comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko (67p).
Before that Rosetta accompanied the Comet for more then 2 years. It researched valuable scientific data, brought a lander on to the comets surface and took a vast number of pictures.

2017 Esa released over 400000 images from Rosettas comet mission.
Based on these material Motion Designer Christian Stangl and Composer Wolfgang Stangl worked together to create this shortfilm.
The sequences are digitally enhanced real-footage from the probe.

Watch the beauty of an active alien body, far out in the dephts of our solar system.
