Africa & India could make Italy's problems look like a walk in the park due to the special social & economic characteristics of these two Third World behemoths.

I've been thinking about that a lot... It this things spreads through central and south africa, it can be a catastrophe that makes europe's troubles look like a cakewalk.

Africa does have a few factors in their favour though, they don't have the population densities of europe, their major cities are for the most part far apart, most of their population don't travel much, they don't have nowhere near the tourism of airplane traffic as the rest of the world, and they most likely have better immune systems due to much lower meds usage and being used to living in much harsher conditions.

The point he was making is that the poorest communities of the poorest countries have far higher death rates than that already from other preventable diseases.

There are also additional complications from refusal to vaccinate in some areas.

That could actually be a (small) silver lining to all this the anti-vaxxer movement could implode.

Not sure how your first point contradicts mine.

Won't blame China, but bashes anti-vaxxers who had eff all to do with this outbreak. Personally, I think all of the things that relate to personal health and lifestyle decisions is going to come into play when it comes time to sort out the final tally. I tend to put my money on people who've taken care of their bodies and lived relatively healthy lives.
