Carrier upkeep needs to be completely removed. I have life outside the game and don't want to be held hostage.
Sure, if there is no other way. But we sure will try to persuade FD to make carriers useful to a wider circle.don't buy a carrier if you cannot afford one![]()
I don't have any problem with the initial cost. The upkeep is just ridiculous.don't buy a carrier if you cannot afford one![]()
As of now, is there a way to mothball your carrier? So that you can mothball it so it is no longer visible in the game, doesn't cost anything, and can be reactivated once you, say, return from vacation?
That rather depends on how you play, doesn't it? I made the bulk of my 10.5 billion from hauling and other activities over the course of my game to date (wasted a billion or so transporting my ships to Colonia and back, out of sheer boredom). Did a bit of Void Opal mining when the new mining was introduced, but the bulk was already made. I've been longing for a new feature to give me a reason to log in regularly again, but that doesn't mean that I'm happy to be forced to play on a weekly basis and engage in activities that I wouldn't otherwise for the honour of owning a FC. Can I afford one? Yes. Can I afford or am I willing to meet the real-world/real-time demands that it would make on my time? Possibly not. It may be manageable with the new pricing, but the whole concept rubs me up the wrong way.If you can make 5 billions to buy a FC, you can afford the upkeep.
If you can grind 5 billions, you might as well grind for extra 2.2 billion and have 2 years of upkeep already in your bank. With the money you own you could probably afford a FC till the game dies. That rather depends on how you play, doesn't it? What an original thread topic. Thanks for the breath of fresh airCarrier upkeep needs to be completely removed. I have life outside the game and don't want to be held hostage.
I didn't grind my 10 billion though, that was my point - I made it over the course of 2500 hrs or so from various activities. You may be correct about how far my balance will go - I haven't studied the new costs, but I still have an issue with the concept of upkeep in principle. If you can grind 5 billions, you might as well grind for extra 2.2 billion and have 2 years of upkeep already in your bank. With the money you own you could probably afford a FC till the game dies.
What makes you think they wont nerf mining? The double and triple hotspots are gone in the beta.If you can grind 5 billions, you might as well grind for extra 2.2 billion and have 2 years of upkeep already in your bank. With the money you own you could probably afford a FC till the game dies.

Telling me that I can choose not to buy one if I don't like it is like saying "I made this cake for you and here I'll just put this down in front of you, and boy doesn't it look nice. I know you've been waiting for a very long time for something nice to eat. Just imagine how good it must taste. However you don't have to eat it, you can just look at all the other people eating their own cakes I made for them."
