It never gets old... hahah
Did they? I missed the stream
I watched the stream, but I apparently missed this promise...
Too be fair, they stated multiple times on the live stream today that re-adding VR support was absolutely on the radar.
Yup, i would be quite happy if atmo landings would be still possible in VR without legs feature....at least until they solve legs VR support!Haven't kept up with the rest of this topic. I would assume we can fly down to planets as normal, however exiting the ship (like entering the SRV) will be restricted, the option could be greyed out when running in VR.
See these things called manners - were they not on your school's curriculum? And it did not have that at launch. See, there are things called "businesses". And they make cost/benefit analyses.

I'm happy to adjust the number if anyone can provide a source.Way more than 3%
See, you got me all wrong. I'm not upset at all. Way too old to let silly things like games upset me. I'm off to play RDR2 in pancake mode.Yes thanks i am one that can not play VR for heath reasons as i can not walk as i lost a leg in a real war not a game many years back so yes i am alright jack i still work and have a very happy life thankyou
I would never let a game get me upset as you have to really think what is important to you
Thanks
I will not buy Odyssey until it has VR support. There are many Elite Dangerous players who only play in VR. There are very very few who experience Elite Dangerous in VR who have any desire to move back to playing on a flat-screen. "Not at launch" doesn't mean that you will ever actually implement VR support. Please at least commit to adding VR support for Odyssey. There is a big difference between "not at launch" and "we will implement VR support for Odyseey, just not at launch". I understand there is a fair bit of time and effort involved but a significant number of your players would immensely appreciate it. VR is only getting more popular and there are many people who bought Elite purely because of the VR experience.Greetings Commanders,
Thank you for your overwhelmingly positive response to the announcement of Elite Dangerous: Odyssey. We’ve been really excited to share this and it’s amazing to see that you all feel the same way!
This is just the beginning and we will be sharing more details and information in the coming months that you can look forward to.
We’re seeing all your streams, videos, posts and questions and, today, we wanted to answer a few for you straight away:
Is Elite Dangerous: Odyssey coming to VR?
Currently, Elite Dangerous: Odyssey will not be VR-compatible at launch. We’re big fans of VR and we are truly proud of the amazing experience that we currently offer in Elite Dangerous. However, the new gameplay, mechanics and features that will be introduced with Elite Dangerous: Odyssey means that we had to re-examine if we could deliver that same experience without compromise, which, for launch, means Odyssey will not be VR-compatible.
Will there be Base Building in Elite Dangerous: Odyssey?
Base building is not currently on the roadmap for Elite Dangerous, however we have plenty of new features planned instead such as on-foot exploration, new planetary tech, social hubs, combat as well as more to be shared later on! We’re looking to put our best foot forward with Odyssey and if you’d like an overview of what to expect, you can check out the website or Steam page.
Will Elite Dangerous: Odyssey be included in my Lifetime Expansion Pass?
While Elite Dangerous: Odyssey is a paid expansion, we're happy to confirm that yes, this expansion will absolutely be included in the Lifetime Expansion Pass for free.
Stay Safe, Commanders o7
I agree, but seeing as FD delayed updates as a result of a petition to fix the ridiculous amount of unresolved historical bugs, because many of the complainants were prominent YouTube content creators, that could have been bad publicity for FD, what chance have people like us, in a minority got? Here's to hoping that they reconsider this ill-conceived decision and/or commit additional resources to play 'catch-up' and release VR compatibility shortly after launch.
Source maybe? I don't think they actually said so.
Ah yes because people with lifetime expansion passes want sub quality content for all that money they paid.

And how much extra would it have cost in time and money to produce? What are the numbers? So if Fdev would have shown the video playing Odyssey in both 2D and VR, the VR community would have exploded with excitement, it would have brought a ton of new players to the game. Just another missed opportunity.
If what you've had for years now is sub quality content to you, why did you not try to get a refund, or why are you still here? I responded with the correct information. Whether you like it or not is irrelevant to me in context and undeserving of sarcasm.
You are obssessed with money and rentability but space opera games are also about new technology, experimentation and innovation, and vr is part of thisAnd how much extra would it have cost in time and money to produce? What are the numbers?
This is exactly like when people who bought 3D televisions get angry because there is no 3D content. That's the risk of buying expensive bleeding edge tech. Corporations aren't required to make risky decisions because of you.Yes, that decision is downright insulting. I deliberately spent quite a lot of money in Frontier Store to SUPPORT FURTHER DEVELOPMENT OF ELITE.
I didn't realise FD had only been working on Odyssey since Winter. How much does the average VR setup cost these days?
How many people have lost their jobs during this pandemic?
