Okay, so that one is a data error in EDDB, then. It looks like a fairly normal "tiny" base other than that: possible that the mission comes from a faction you've personally interacted with recently? (I'd test but I don't have any "tiny" bases out this way - they're all small to large)

Still, as with many of these wild goose chases, they're good opportunities to find that actually Frontier have put a whole bunch of interesting things in game which players spend their whole time rushing past.

Also Inara reports that Drummond Base has not been updated since Aug 22 2019, 11:32am. ... is someone running around without EDMC running? :p
The EDDN relay doesn't transmit any information relevant to undockable surface settlements, so it wouldn't matter either way.

Ownership information for assets can only be updated automatically if someone docks with them, or to an extent if they're involved in a conflict.

Again, this is all very exciting. I really feel we are on track for "something" to happen. It makes sense it would be up to the community to bring TDW out of their funk. I also thought, long ago, if FDev ever did implement a "gateway" mechanic, like the one spoke of in Tionisla? Was it? I always felt it's access would depend on possible Super Powers, or factions. Meaning, "today some aligned with [X] entity would have access, but those aligned with their opposition won't. Either that? Or we'd all just lose access, if, say, The Club (aligned faction) took over presence. But that's supposing that content of that magnitude does eventually get implemented.

Orders 05-06 July 3306

Day 5 of 5-7 for our active expansion - Nearly there!
All looks good for the expansion so we can continue to concentrate on boosting TDW in Shinrarta Dezhra.

If you do not have access to Shinrarta, you can get some Bounty Vouchers ready to hand in. We are expecting a war when we arrive at the new system and Bounty Vouchers do help. Just be careful not to go BOOM while waiting!

Bounty Hunting & Combat:
  • Bounty Hunting in LFT 926. hand in only TDW bounty vouchers into any station in Shinrarta Dezhra.
  • Scenarios at installations or megaships in LFT 926 generate TDW bounties that can be handed in to any station in Shinrarta Dezhra.

Commodity Trading:
- run profitable trades to TDWs planetary ports in SD 'Neumann Camp' and 'Puleston Arsenal'

Missions & Passengers:
- Lots of TDW missions in Shinrarta Dezhra

Exploration Data:
- Sell to TDWs planetary ports in SD 'Neumann Camp' and 'Puleston Arsenal'

To assist us with monitoring the expansion, please fly around the local systems with EDMC or similar tools active. This feeds data to the third party sites which then update the tools we use.

Keep Spinning The Wheel, Hamsters!

Our expansion remains exactly on target, so there are no additional orders today. If my calculations are correct the next tick is the critical one that determines where we arrive, though we only get there the following tick. Expansions seem to be calculated very early in the Tick process so are determined by the influence levels of the previous day. This may have changed with the recent patches.

Got almost 10million in TDW bounty vouchers, should I hand them into Jameson Memorial or hold on to them until the expansion is complete. Also, would it have a negative effect if I took out a wanted Dark Wheel ship, haven't done it yet just in case.

Your choice. Either help in Shin today, or in our target system in a few days.

Shooting a "Wanted" The Dark Wheel ship in an area that we control has only a minor effect if any compared to the bounty, so don't worry about them too much.

I did not know that. That's good to know. Thank you.

For me, and this is just me Role Playing, I give "wanted" TDW ships a pass. I look at it like they were doing special ops or covert missions "that may be considered illegal in some systems" and just haven't had a chance to hit a Interstellar Factor to clear it. I know they are NPCs so it really doesn't apply but I like the RP. I know I get into that situation myself several times a week working for TDW.

Thank you, just wanted to know where the bounties would be more useful but if it makes no difference then I can get rid of them now instead of flying around like I'm driving Miss Daisy.

I've been leaving them alone too just in case it has some sort of negative effect on the expansion attempt.

I'll just keep running inf missions for TDW from Shin Dez then.
I moved almost my whole fleet parked at Sol to Jameson and Meredith, 28 ships, I'll be prepared when the expansion takes place.
Last time I checked TDW influence in Meredith was 84.8 percent, not bad at all.

Do we have a clue what system TDW will expand to?

Something that's been nagging me is that only pilots who have proven themself could become a member of TDW.
Could this mean becomming Elite or even triple Elite?
I'm only double Elite and 13% deadly in combat, still a long way to go for triple Elite.
Any thoughts?

Thanks, everyone; I really enjoy reading all your comments. I found it to be interesting too- as @Ian Doncaster described: stop-and-smell-the-roses content that most people fly past. I must say that I really wanted to go do the mission; sorry that I didn't post a more descriptive pic of what it actually is (was) - see below if you're interested.
I also suspect that FDEV wouldn't assign missions like this to a player faction. It doesn't make sense to me for a couple of reasons.

I always have EDMC running. I also generally have a browser open with my Inara and EDDB pages on display. I view it similarly as @Psyral does; that these are functions that our far-into-the-future shipboard systems would likely provide.
I tried to update this installation info on ROSS, but I couldn't for some obscure reason (error message wasn't descriptive).

I recorded the audio that I described to you in my previous post. I have not done many of these kinds of explorations/fiddling with data points kinds of things. Is this unusual? Should I pursue it further (perhaps try to do some processing on the audio stream)?

This is the first time that I've seen a black box op with SEVEN as the number of items to pick up. C'mon, please let me click the CHECK box!

Edit: I just checked and Inara now reports that this installation bleongs to the PGMC, in agreement with in-game. EDDB, oddly shows the Pilot's Federation (I'm confused there).
As mentioned by others, the CIA is not reported to have any presence in this system.
Cheers, CMDRs! Enjoy the mysteries...

Edit2
I scanned the data point again today. This resulted in something different, less "rosy" perhaps

Really? just some enc Mats? Wow...

Is there a reliable way/some preconditions to trigger the megaships scenarios ? I stayed around one for maybe 20 minutes, idly hunting wanted ships... nothing happened.

The way I look at it is, if TDW says you're allied that pretty much settles the matter.

I'm already allied to TDW but I meant this in the light of something I recall was been said by Fdev.
If I recall correctly they said that Raxxla is a journey every cmdr has to make.
Maybe being triple elite, or something else, could trigger when doing missions for TDW.

It's nothing but a brain fart, your imagination can rather take strange turns when pondering on these things.
It could also mean that you need to be Elite to get access to them in Shin Dez but they're not only present in Shin Dez anymore, or have they always been present in LFT 926?

I seem to remember that TDW was described as being an elite group of explorers. So if that's the case, then lore-wise having an exploration rank of elite should be sufficient.

Enc mats are more normal for settlement data point scans
Indeed. So utterly normal...

For those of you who like to sell commodities, I noticed that the Chel system appears to be the new place to get tritium on the cheap. The two ports in that system are currently selling it for 4100 & 4376cr per unit. On my two stops at Quimper Landing, their supply was in the 220-unit range. I believe that Ford was approx 180.
Enjoy.
