Just finished Duke rank, now 5 more for Feds >:

Got 3 tip off messages during. Did 1 - found crashed ship with thargoid sensor there. Also could access and read ship's log. After relog it says "data encrypted" again.
So we can conclude all those crashed ships around may tell stories by "tip off" when you have key for 1 read.
Then I returned back to station where I got that mail, surprise - I could sell "intelligence data" there. I'm swear I had nothing before. So I think that was imperial spies who hired me.
Ship is at ALRAI SECTOR BR-Y D72 A2 A

I've just finished grinding Imperial Duke rank too, and got 2 tip-off missions.

Only tested one before logging off, because for once it didn't talk about a crashed ship.

Here's the message:
Screenshot_0003.jpg

Got there, 0.37G planet, and it's a Federal Python, landed (it fires but never takes off) on the ground, with no cargo on board, inside the fence of a heavily defended installation (3-4 turrets shoot at you once you get within 3km and they're pretty mean - tore through my Conda's shields in under a minute). Scanning (manifest+data) the ship yields nothing. Tried getting close with the SRV but the turrets started shooting from 1.5-2km away. A transport ship (type-7 from Cupinook Industry) hovers over the installation then high-wakes to Naitis before being replaced by another.

I will try replacing my weapons with fixed ones and come back to get rid of turrets before taking care of the Python. Maybe tomorrow or later. Go check it out if you think it may be interesting.

The other tip-off ( i haven't tested it yet) was a classic crashed ship on Juracame 1 A at Lat 3.12, Long 146.83, expires on August 1st.

I'll post in the dedicated thread upon completion of the two.

I've been searching for rare items only found in piracy like trinkets of hidden fortune and ai relics. Trinkets of hidden fortune have an interesting description that makes me think they are more important than just something to sell on the black market.

The 'stauettes' mentioned make an appearance in 'And Here the Wheel', if I'm not mistaken.

What are you doing with said Pirate rares? Tried taking em to the Guardian sites, see if some combo will get the door open? That is my plan as dont know if anyone has tried it yet but nowhere near starting, just another on 'the list'.
Thats one of the ideas we've kicked around, also at thargoid surface site machines. So far ive just been collecting them on a squad mates FC.

Ill definitely help with that if you want, just hit me up in game or here. I have a feeling theyre probably just fluff, a bit of RPG/D&D element but I have more fun wondering if they are significant and wasting time trying it out.

A journey everyone must make for themselves - wonder if that still applies in the FC era? If it does then its nothing to do with the location or physical journey.

...
I got 5 Tip-Offs in a day doing something similar. I grinded from Baron to King (7 ranks) in a day. One of the tip offs resulted in this scan:

"This is the twentieth wreckage we've searched. Are you going to say what we're looking for or not?
I keep telling you, there is nothing out here worth finding."

Maybe the Gan Romero fluff was not about the guy but the encoded message he received (which we never pay attention to them) and the stolen DBX (which has a series of numbers in top centre front of the canopy "similar" to a IPv4 comms port address but numbering doesn't fit).

Also, a while back we've got a CG to find the wrekages of the Starship One... it was believed Halsey visited Raxxla prior her "accident" and no actual blackbox was ever recovered... just her scape pod.

I guess this is just pointing out to something and we should keep looking for it.

Oh lord I didnt mean to imply Gan was meaningful in any way.

The visions/dreams/audio visual hallucinations are generally believed to be connected to the Guardfians or Thargoids but could be A.N. Other undiscovered as yet race.

Using old 20th C techniques we can also add space madness, psychosis, loss of reality, hallucigenics taken voluntarily or involuntarily, leaking ship fumes causing same, religious mania, alcohol, vivid dreams that are just dreams and a few others....but theres no story there

Yup back in the bubble doing the same thing... gotta get ma trinkets ;)

Just wanted to pop in a give a bit of perspective that's changing my mind. I'm out on the HIP hunt currently underway to get all in game HIP stars into EDSM. I'm spending a lot of time less than 1K away from Sol and am finding a good bit of undiscovered territory. I was firmly in the camp that Raxxla couldn't be near the bubble because it had all already been explored. I'm changing my mind on that. Just today I found two systems that only the main star had been discovered. One had 13 bodies in it. No gas giants with eight moons, though. So I don't know....lore or other reasons are irrelevant, I'm just saying that I found a totally "unlooked at" system less than 500lys from Sol. This also lends validity to "A CMDR has been in the system and didn't find it."

Take that for what it's worth.

When you get in to Hip 34104 let me know! ;-)

So many cmdrs seem to prefer big jump ranges and so many systems in between go unnoticed...

I like to fly out (Neutron Super Highway) about 2000 LY then set my nav computer to "Economical" and short jump around an area for a while. While I have first discovered many new planets and systems, I am still missing putting my name on a WR or BH. Those Wolf's and Black Holes are hard to find undiscovered.
I have even done the whole XXXX AA-A H and stuff too. But after I arrive, I find it already claimed.

I tend to get lazy around the bubble, though. I usually go with something 50+ ly jump range (usually closer to 65) and set my nav computer to plot "Fastest" instead of "Economical". ... Though I generally have my filters set to only plot my un-visited systems... again, unless I'm in a hurry and don't want to take the time to FSS/DSS things.
