Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

LOL, furthermore cementing that you have no idea of how well Stuart follows the game.

Its my experience that on average skeptics follow the project much closer than the faithful.

Its a bit like how many atheists know the bible better than those who profess to be religious.
The most irritating thing for me is when they get proven wrong they'll fall back to the age old, "Oh I haven't been following SC development that long" or "I've only been following development since 201x"

Perhaps a long time ago when the PTV and the PYR were not in.
It's like if I was claiming in Odyssey that FDev will remove the SRV where in fact FDev is just talking about a new FPS gun for Odyssey.

I start to understand a lot of things if your infos have those sort of 'accuracy'.

The card Stuart was talking about is about a cutting module for the PYR. It might be used to cut doors in FPS missions and perhaps boarding ships.

Your sentence is for Stuart, the young backers or for both ?

"might", "perhaps". Man, you don't know how much that's relieving to see those simple yet meaning words along with SC features. The kind you almost never see, and I guess one day one could be banned from spectrum for typing these :)

Nice thread, with white knights pulling all stops: Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/i26b02/citizencon_2016_rant_while_drinking_beer/g02mbbg/?context=3

That "Bluegobln" citizen is really pulling the "you don't understand game development" on me haha. And starts comparing CiG with... SpaceX, of all things. Lots of entertainment, i cant be bothered to reply anymore (too deep in the Reddit tree..) but that gives you an idea of the convoluted reasoning they have to keep by now to continue supporting CiG and think they are doing a good job.
Like when i ask "Did spaceX trash their whole design entirely and start a completely different rocket after each "iteration" ?"
The reply is: "Did CIG with their ships? Nope."... Of course, the whole game development is about ships (*). Makes sense, in a way. Gives us a window on the expectation of this kind of people, as long as their 3D pixels are being delivered, it's ok, and we can call that "iterations".

(*) (edit) besides, they did redo each and every ship over again, a few times...

Just another proof that you don't really follow the development of the game.

Neither does CIG apparently, if years after having played through all missions of one of their games, they just noticed they need to lay down a plan on how to go through a series of steps on how to best setup a roadmap that could properly show the things they plan on doing for the game they supposedly had almost ready a mere four years ago. I'm always part baffled, part amazed at how, years after years of having witnessed the silliest and poorest shows from them with regards to excuses and explanations, they still manage to come up with something ever more glorious. The roadmapception and SQ42 no-show are the peak performance equivalent of "dog ate my homeworks".

I've been corrected once here for using too often 'will'. So in a lot of sentences, I use those words now. It's more accurate indeed.

The fact "might" and "perhaps" are still more accurate than "will", really is one of the why's this thread managed to reach a v12 of itself...

Yes, but several month ago I could have said 'CIG will deliver a new flight model' and it would have been true. I could also have used 'will' for the planetary tech, the weather, the hunger/thirst, the caves, prison, etc.
The vast majority of what the devs talk about is delivered.

Delivering a new flight model, over and over, is seen as a positive by the backers.
Yes, as long as the model improves over time.
Like in every software, modify version after version to have better fonctionnalities...
You want the alpha to stay forever in its current state ?
