Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Wonders when, if ever I'll find a reasonably priced Logitech GX56 Rhino.
Have a look on Amazon and see if there are any returns...usually listed underneath the main sale price and always cheaper. They're not always second hand either...some arrive at the the store with damaged packaging but are otherwise brand new...but Amazon can't sell them at full price because of the damaged packaging :)

Hey there Citizens
Lookin for a general consensus on whether its considered OK / worth it to build a system to play this game on my Sony Bravia 1080p TV ( I wanna stay sat firmly on my comfy recliner ) ?
Thanks in advance to anyone who take the time to reply.
No. If the game ever comes out, anything you buy now will be obsolete. Alternatively, the game itself will be, and you'll have much better things to play on whatever system you get for regular gaming purposes.

Just build a system if you want to play games. Ignore SC for the time being (and quite likely for all eternity) and, should it somehow come out, consider then if it's worth playing. In fact, that's true in general: never ever build a system for a specific game.

I'd say considering we have no idea what the spec of the game will be on release you'd be premature building a PC for SC right now. People years ago were building PCs for SC that are now outdated.

Some tests on the first icache implementation released in 3.10. It works !

disclaimer: i enjoy watchingthe newer SC ship commercials; the project relly shines there... and i sometimes watch SC videos, because some elements look rather good.

so i watched this video. there is this scene where he gets a box into his ship.

question: how can you drop a box in a ship in zero g? artificial gravity?

All the ships have artificial gravity. In the bigger ships there is a gravity generator that you can go look at.

All ships that are playable in game with the exception of special ships and the new ROC buggy are buyable in game with in game credits.

Know anyone who’s put in approx 429 hrs to earn a Hammerhead? ;)

Or even better, to earn a special disappearing Hammerhead...

Havent really heard of ships still disappearing in 3.10.2 like they were before. Could still be happening, but sure is the noise about it like there was before.

Yeah it’s still happening ;)

Went into the PU for a change of scenery since Control is doing my nut in with all the mensa style puzzles.... and immediately wished I hadn't. It's a bigger mensa style puzzle to work out how to spawn a ship in SC.

All those ships...(list goes down a bit further than shown)

None of them available...

I took the hint from the second screen and went and played some Project Cars 2 :)

A miracle! Normally it goes like this...

I think you mean they have Christopher Robert’s physics grid technology. Which always keeps you the right way up.

(And currently tries to kill you when EVAing over the boundaries. But space is dangerous, amiright?)

whatever that is you are linking to is an unreadable mess.

in 3.9, players with a cat or carrack were making millions of credits per hour. its been reduced in 3.10, but since there is no wipes still plenty of millionaire and billionaires out there.

a single player can make 100k - 200k an hour with the right ship (not a starter, but not something super expensive by SC standards)

Hardly like it was before and an account reset should fix it now. last i heard it was working ok, but havent done it myself.

Looking at the monitor prices I m also thinking about a desktop setup with TV instead. Opting for a 50 inch 4K and am wondering how far away is "okay". I m used to having my monitor on the table. Guess thats out of the question now. Do you think 4 feet is sufficient? Hows the experience if you go further? Wall mounted is an option but then the cable becomes excessively long so I m trying to figure out the correct set-up right now

My tv is roughly four feet away, at 55" inch it fills my view but doesn't feel too close. If I wall mounted it and put a desk in front of it I would even push it to three feet. Its a great way to play msfs. Its native 4k and running it 1080p makes it come out a touch blurry compared to the pc monitor. Hoping a videocard upgrade in the next six months will let me try 1440 and even 4k on it from pc with better results.

So all you need to do is spend $295 or $600 on a trade barge, and then you can earn everything painlessly?

Sounds like a deal ;)

Ok but let's say your 100k-200k earning rate for a 'not super expensive' ship still holds, despite some of the mission nerfing in 3.10 etc. (So what are we talking here, like a Freelancer for $110 or something?). Then using that guy's chart, at 150k ph, I could earn a Cat in a mere 60hrs! And the universe is my oyster? :)

Sounds like a dream. Sure hope nothing happens to that Cat...

Reset not working for this guy in 3.10.2.

But even if reset were to work, you're looking at just losing all your earnings every time it happens instead...

I don't think you concierge guys understand the struggles of the common citizen ;)

Box placing have far less bugs than before.

That was posted yesterday.

But if you want to talk about box placement improvement, (rather than the EVA transition issue), these bugs seem to speak against that...

And ship spawning works better for almost everybody since 3.10.2.

Better than this, maybe...

But it's still being reported as an issue. Better than crap isn't necessarily great ;)
