Oh, I see what you mean. But like I said in my previous reply, no. That ability would have to be available to ALL players. Effectively killing off the abilities of the FSD, hyperspace traveling, The engineers and almost all gameplay in general. If one of the superpowers had that ability then they could instantly appear anywhere and wipe out their enemies in an a flash. Thousands of commanders could instantly turn up in Thargoid space and wipe them out before the Thargoids knew what the hell just happened. Gangs of gankers would cause unlimitless chaos possibly causing quite a lot of players to quit the game. Thousands of reasons why I think it's not.

Quite possibly. (and such a game breaking event would be unlikely to be allowed).
BUT... if each player 'had to make their own journey' to unlock the ability - and that journey was so challenging / puzzling, then only a very few select 'best of the best' would manage it, then I can still see that being allowed. This would probably mean that each 'journey' would be different enough that no two commanders had the same path to the unlock.
I don't know that I necessarily believe what I've described, but the thought struck me. And I'm a firm believer that you shouldn't self-censor in a brainstorming situation, because although your own thought might be wrong - or at least incomplete - that it may trigger a better thought in another reader.

Don't get me wrong, you have a great idea. I personally would think if your idea was somehow correct (which it may very well be), then to elaborate on that I would say it might be some kind of stationary construct that players could use to get anywhere in the galaxy. Seems to make more sense to me. I believe all ideas are great, you just have to sift through the possible to the impossible and work on what you find feasible.

so we can easily find star systems from the lore of the ancient Egyptians, ancient Chinese ancient Greeks, Roman Empire and the learned Arabic scholars who kept academia, wisdom And knowledge Alive whilst Europe fell into the dark ages tabooing non-Christian concepts for math, medicin and astronomy.
So We can look for references in our myths and lo-and-behold there is a star system with that name falling inline with ancient Greek hypothesis as well as our confirmation bias.
I even started looking up the current “real-world” Island names for homers The Odyssey

It ought to be remembered that there is a level of uncertainty with our tinfoily. If there is a path to Raxxla it could be very straight forward, and that we have embellished upon it with our own imaginations, to the point where we cant see past our own bias.
One step on from your work I would propose someone map these locations and try and draw together all correlations, or even simply draw a line between them all to see what it physically looks like, is there a pattern, does it point to someplace else, are there gaps?
If I ever find the time Id love to, but not sure when. I did something similar years ago regarding certain stars that spelt out Raxxla within a spiralling pattern. But you get the drift.

So I dug up a copy of the story and skimmed over it the last couple of hours and made a compilation of the 18 locations Odysseus takes,from his home and back again.
Sadly it's a translation from a Later Roman text, so the story is about the Hero Ulysses not the Greek Odysseus
The sea-god is Neptune and not Poseidon. The goddes who helps Ulysses is menerva and not the greek Goddess Athena and so on and so forth.

1 : Troy (10 year long siege until he does that Trojan Horse thing, yeah he's THAT guy!)
2 : On the way back home, hold up at Ismarus, city of the Cicons for supplies when some local trouble spills over and he loses a few red-shirts on the way back to the boat.
3 : Struggles on the Seas around Cape Malea and Island of Cythera pushed by heavy winds/seas
4: Makes camp on the Island of lotus eaters (the Lotus plant, some of his men get hooked and don't want to come back. Just say no to drugs kids!)
5: Sails onto the Land of the Cyclopes, Polyphemus (kills and picks up a grudge from old Neptune/Poseidon

6. Comes to Aeoli island, Aeolus Son of Hippotas (they get blown back here but get sent away the second time )

16. Back to Charybdis, Sun god blasts the boat back west with bad weather and Ulysees managed to jump onto an overhanging branch to avoid Charybdis and drops down after the swell and makes a swim for it before Scylla gets the wiser that he was back again.
17. 10 days later he winds up at the Ogygian island of Calypso daughter of Atlas, (spinster trickster witch ) . The Ogygian sea is a weird godlike anomaly of a place, it's nowhere and is surrounded by endless sea, described as the navel of all the worlds waters,

Then we find the location in-game, I guess Calypso Island is raxxala, the central way-point in the sea of Ogygia, which stands between the heavens and the earth because I couldn't find any reference in-game

The Ysidril Tree, right? Seems clue like to me, and to many others. So after a tip earlier in this thread, I have been reading "Islands in the Sky: The Four-Dimensional Journey of Odysseus through Space and Time" Might have to have a few reads of it to fully understand but.... mythological...

You’re assuming that humanity’s expansion would have been by a spherical shell. I think that’s not quite right. It would have averaged out to be spherical, but would have actually occurred as a spiky “morning star weapon” shape, since they would have not immediately travelled to uninteresting places like LYT systems, but would have emphasised GKM systems for colonisation and any scoop-able systems for travel waypoints to reach them, filling in the gaps later as a much lower priority (& missing out uninteresting places which is why so much of the bubble had unexplored systems).

The quest for Raxxla was after all originally, the quest of Jason Ryder and his band of merry Dark Wheelers.
In the context of Greek mythology this probably corresponds better to Jason and the Argonauts and the quest for the Golden Fleece.
Their ship the Argos is neatly depicted in the sky, as the Argos Navis constellation. Argos Navis is now split into the three constellations Carina (the hull), Puppis (the poop deck) and Vela (the sails). Seen from earth, this is Guardian space.

After doing a tour of 6 systems Wednesday that I interpreted from the Odyssey just this afternoon I did a tour of 6 systems that I interpreted from the Argonautica....
Hasn’t produced any DW invitation so far....
P.s. did you report the sysmap anomalies we found as a potential graphics bug (to see what the FD reaction would be?)

There will be no clues = there is no 'mystery' not in a treasure hunt sense, there is nothing to find but Raxxla itself
Simple - Its just there, wherever it is, 1 in 400bn systems and its on one of them, explanations for why its there can come after if needed. Nothing will lead to it
they were just trying to come up with a snappy way of producing party balloons!
Unless Raxxla is within something else! I was struck as I just ended today’s gameplay by the resemblance of the Raxxla codex logo to the guiding lights and hub structure within a station. Wonder if you find this feature within a station (they’ve been in-game from outset) that matches the logo whether that would indicate you’ve found the right system, or whether you “enter” the structure (i.e. a disguised omphalos)?

Apparently) with the gamma came the 4.3billion stars of the galaxy And asteroid mining it i was recall correctly?
So the tools at our desposal att launch are ALL we need to find raxxla.
Not in a a fancy station interior on a planets surface (orbital maybe - I did like that suggestion), or discovetable by an srv,
But rather something that cane be found by Discover scanners and Visual confirmation.
But in this I include all those fiddly asteroid clusters which sap my enthusiasm for finding raxxla.
Because if one was to follow the star systems of “The odyssey”, my bet is, you got to follow it vi the economical routes which are standard for all ship types, and scan every damned asteroid cluster, ring and every USS that pops up, ignore installations and planets surfaces and deep core mining. Just the basic tools we had at launch count.
I intend to do the broad strokes first.
But “Maybe” there is a long and detailed List of specific system scans One needs to Registered which finally unlocks a permit for raxxla(?)

At the start Frontier Developments may not have taken the "Raxxla" situation very seriously and it was a discoverable system / body / station / space unicorn / alcoholic beverage in game. Then later they changed it into something more substantial like the Zarura, possibly locking it behind a permit system. Unlockable by a 'journey' that curtails gaining ranks, exploration and missions to gain attention from the Dark Wheel.
Atm I am ( hopefully ) getting such attention from TDW gaining allied statues with such corporations and entities that I feel they would have their eyes on. Also I explore thoroughly every system I pass through as much to my ability. It's slow but rather enjoyable. I am in no rush.

The idea that it's not an a planetary surface is erroneous.
You can see a lot of surface details from orbit. There is no reason to believe that it couldn't be placed on a surface we can't reach. The only thing Fdev said was that you could find raxxla... Not that you could visit it.
It's also extremely unlikely there are any connections to mythology or books in regards to where raxxla is. Not only would it not make any sense in lore (since mythology and thus the names of stars etc are earth centric and raxxla is decidedly not human-made ....but fdev has stated that there would be no clues to raxxla).
Raxxla is meant to be a needle in the haystack blind search that has a good chance of never coming to fruition. It would be immensely stupid of fdev to not draw out it's discovery for as long as possible...if not indefinitely. Finding it is not in anyone's benefit. The search is.
I just keep my eyes out for anything obviously weird as I jump randomly from system to system. That's no better odds than someone spending a lot of effort trying to find connections and clues where there are none. "You know, if you get invited to join a secret organisation, that can happen to lots of people. And the great thing is, if it doesn't happen to you you'll go "oh, why have they not invited me?" But then that's exciting, you'll think "oh well, ok, I did kill that policeman the other day, maybe I need to get my reputation a bit higher."
The thought was that if you know other people have been invited.....
