Hello everyone! I hope it's OK if I post a quick PS4 Exploration Squadron recruitment!

I recently returned to the game after a long expedition to the opposite side of the Galaxy. I've played since the game was released on PS4, explored in deep space literally for years, and engineered many ships. I know a lot about the game, and I'd love to share my knowledge and meet some nice folks that might be looking for a new home.

There's no expectations of members, we're just looking to explore the Milky Way and have fun and help one another. Every single member of the squadron is considered an equal; there is no hierarchy. We have our own minor faction at the edge of civilized space for anyone that might like to stay in the bubble and help us expand it. I have a secondary account which I keep in the bubble, but my main account is almost always out exploring deep space. We have a discord where we share tips and screenshots and just chat.

Phoenix Flight Explorers reject exploitation of all living creatures as well as tyranny of any kind, including dictatorships, slavery, and genocide. We see exploring the cosmos as a peaceful celebration of nature and believe that if humanity continues to exploit creatures, we are at war with nature.

Applications are opened to anyone sympathetic to the cause of this community. Full membership is dependent only on the individual being respectful to fellow members. There are no requirements and no internal hierarchy; all members of Phoenix Flight Explorers are of equal importance and standing. Helping other members is encouraged to anyone whom is able to do so, at the individual's discretion.

This sounds interesting but exploring is rather lonely profession. We usually don’t do exploring in wings. How do you interact with other member explorers? Or could we create new deep space colony on PS4 using fleet carriers??

Well, yes, you're right. Exploration is a very solitary activity for the most part. "It's lonely out in spaaaace!"

BUT I have been on some really great expeditions with really cool group meetups in deep space and it was some of the most fun I ever had in the game. Also, I met some really great, intelligent, fun people that love exploring. I just kindof wanted to breed that sort of environment with anyone that might want to join a squadron.

Also, although the squadron is 'primarily' for exploration, we have our own minor faction in the bubble, and we're working on the BGS with it, for anyone that might be in the bubble taking a break. Combat/trading is a good way to relax after a long exploration trip.

We have a discord where we can talk / share exploration photos / share advice. I basically just want to help anyone that might want some insight or camaraderie.

Basically, I have a squadron set up anyway, and I have been doing a lot of BGS stuff by myself anyway for the minor faction, and I was just inviting anyone that might want a home, that's all.

My main account is out near Beagle Point exploring, but I keep a second account for having fun in the bubble. I can wing up with folks back in the bubble on that character. And other times I can help people on discord or in-game chat.

Really no overarching plan or motive other than having fun, meeting cool people, and helping out anyone that may be interested.

Greetings CMDR, a fellow PS4 player here though much less experienced. I’ve done enough sightseeing and took part in a DSSA expedition that’s ranked me up to Elite Explorer and yet there is still so much the galaxy has to offer. I’m intrigued because, as a casual PvE role-player my play has become a little... directionless, since I’ve returned to the Bubble.

I’d originally aligned with the Alliance but though their politics feel fairly closely aligned with my own I’ve been feeling a little more... anarchic of late (in the communal sense of the word, rather than the murderhobo use...) and so I’ve used the proceeds from my last big exploration trip to buy myself out of my Alliance contract (needed more ARX to remove the Alliance nameplates from my ships) and go independent. The ethos of your group, opposing tyranny and oppression and seeking to expand the frontiers of deep space align nicely with my own attitudes as an independent pilot.

After flying my armed merchantman in defence of the ultimately futile Marlinist evacuation I’m currently lying low trying to earn my Sirius permit and unlock a couple more engineers, hoping that the Corporation’s protection can keep Imperial attention away from me.

I play a mix of Open and Solo, leaning more towards Solo to keep would-be gankers away from my anti-meta builds but have been enjoying being a semi-active community member, with great interest in the potential for wing-play and multicrew to make my cockpits feel less empty. I shall look up your squadron and you can put me down as a definite maybe...

This is perfect's post so wont take up much air time hear, but you really should try open more mate. Yes you might get ganked... but! There are ways around it and even beat them without fighting "its a lot of fun gettingone over on them".
Two things to remember with gankers 1 its a learning experience. 2 never throw salt ;)

Never thrown salt, never will because it’s just a game and credits and pixel spaceships are just a fantasy to escape the dreaded ‘real world’. But what non-contextual ganking/PvP ‘invitations’ (which in my limited experience is simply an interdiction followed by a volley of plasma fire) actually cost me is time which is a more precious commodity these days I’m finding. I’ve posted my thoughts for all that they are worth on a few threads recently, and in short if unwanted PvP is going to disrupt my immersion and blazing my own trail across the glorious galactic sandbox, I’m going into Solo with no shame.

Of course, if I had a squadron of likeminded independent CMDRs to blaze a trail with I’d have more reason to play Open, as organic co-op opportunities seem harder to come by than just letting your hardpoints do the talking.

Anyway, that’s enough thread derailment! Apologies to the OP! Back to recruitment!

I need a week or so to finish some business in the bubble and then I will be going over to the guardian sites for some tech. If you want to join me you are welcome. I will be going in my carrier and staying there for few days. Once I am done, I will be loading on tritium and leaving for a deep space exploration. It will be a mixture of deep space exploration and mining if I see a nice mining spot. In a carrier is not as fast as with an engineered exploration ship but is a fun and it is always nice to have a base close where you can change your ship or some gear and do some repairs. I am usually not in a hurry.

Hay gonuts are you trying to snipe a player from someone elses forum? Think you are! I mean it's open forum so i guess you can... but kinda shady don't you think?
Plus you already have your own post running so..... beside it doesn't much sound like he wants to go fighting gankers all day. He did after all reply to an explanation thread..... just saying

No trying to steal anyone. Simply a Discord invite. In fact, if someone is only looking to do exploration (like DSSA), I'd encourage them to join OP's exploration squad. Just simply trying to form collaborations and get a community going with other non-ganker squadrons and players on PS4. This has been the most active PS4 thread in months. Us good guys need to stick together, as there are too many gankers in open right now on PS4 for anyone to fly in open that's not strictly-PvP.

Yeah i know who your group is. And what your trying to do. But you have your own space for that. And you would alienate othere Cmdr's by invading there space, by filling someone elses thread with your stuff is all im saying.
I have 3 pending invites from your guys, this put me off as Mr perfect is just trying to find like minded players.

@Mr. Perfect in the age old tradition of leaping before you look I've hit the 'Support this Squadron' button on Inara to declare my interest. I've had a quick look at the player-faction in your home system and a cooperative government sounds right up my street, and a good place to make a home. Once I've finished grinding out the rep for Sirius Corp and received the permit I'll head out your way and see if I can start to lay down some roots there, and take a look around the locality.

I'm primarily a PvE player with little to no experience, or even desire at this point in my game for PvP, and I like roleplaying my CMDR to a degree and building and flying spaceships that are somewhat 'anti-meta' because they're what I like and enjoy imagining spaceships to be. The chance to generally drift about with a likeminded player or two for some co-op would be lovely, and even though I'm steering back away from Open for the time being it is a little disappointing because I've built at least one of my handful of ships to take full advantage of multicrew. I'm slowly getting the hang of joining up the various aspects of the game, from outfitting and engineering, exploring and PvE combat, and a little bit of mining and subsequent trading. Learning about playing the BGS with a squadron and faction to support would be a nice new tick on my Pilots' Federation license.

Rest assured that at least one CMDR has heard your call, and will stay in contact as I make my leisurely way over to your corner of the Bubble to see if I can be of service to you. Feel free to send me a friend request via PSN, my name is the same as my forum name.

I heard you saying: "Phoenix Flight Explorers reject exploitation of all living creatures" and as I am interested to join, I might not be following strictly your ideals. As a scientist I like to research and poke things and sometimes dissect 😊 . So i Have Thargoid combat ship and once in a while I go to Witch Head to kill some interceptors for purely scientific purpose, to investigate further their biology and hearts. However I am purely PVE player and I play mainly in open, so if you are still OK of having me I will join 😊

Heyy Cardio! It's OK, you don't have to follow any ideals, it's just flavor text. You might have to hear me complain about how it's extremely unethical for humans to genocide an alien species, but other than that...

No, seriously, every member is free to do literally anything they want at any time, it's just a game, we're all just lookin to have fun XD

We'd love to have you Cardio, the more the merrier. Just lookin to meet nice folks and play some space. o7
