"The Stones"

Excuse me if my question is already asked but do we know how Adamastor is traveling from Chukchan to Synuefe XE-Y c17-7 Did it jump (what jump range) or light speed traveling?

Not sure if this has been mentioned but what if the object Carver and her team found at the crashed Thargoid ship was what actually CAUSED the Thargoid to crash in the first place?? It did seem to affect the human minds at the Geo Base, so could it have affected the Thargoid in a similar way too? Or was it just a malfunctioning Thargoid probe or sensor?

@Vetinari, and who is that Arthur guy btw? I do not get it

I only remembered "Star Heritage" and Artangs because there was such a character as Arthur King from the Dark Wheel

Arthur is the CM isnt he, I may have misheard and been calling him the wrong name all the time. Benedetti, Bruce & Arthur isnt it? Sure they call him Arf but could easily be wrong. He wasnt on todays LS but Bruce referred to what he had said on Thursday eve LS.

Given the timing of this event, it’s only 14 years before the appearance of the Quirium drives. It could absolutely be that this shipwreck was the source of the Quirium fuel and it wasn’t necessarily that the “formula was lost” but that our scientists were never able to replicate it well enough and they just never found another crashed ship...

Again revisited crashed Thargoid... checking those dark corners, staring at it trying to figure things out... and all I can see is... through it :)

I don't think we have a date for the appearance of Quirium drives. Unless you know of a source for it being 3125?

Just to clarify, the Carver logs are just private memos on base, he isnt sending them, Azimuth already knows about the crashed alien shiip and artifact. On the 27th, Carver at survey base is informed not to send any more messages and to await the arrival of the Adamastor which was by that time a day into its journey "under a private flag" I assume then the clandestine mission, if not exact co-ordinates, by the ships captain is known from the outset

Can I ask where the references to the missing log on the 27th come from? I know we are 3 days on now, but I must have missed something. You can be vague if its too spoilery.

27th, there's a log from the geo survey 23b, Carver says that they found something and are retrieving it, and that azimuth demanded that she stopped transmiting her findings
Maybe I misanderstood your question, but that's it

Notice that the Adamastor was damaged by the tugs used to put it into a safe orbit...... causing on-board power systems to explode, damaging cargo holds and spilling debris. It seems like the Adamastor was therefore in OK shape prior to almost crashing into Chuchan 5B
*externally.

Also taking to account that the cause of the damage (goid thingy) was out of it presumably, so funky things stopped happening

So from todays LS, all in one place:

37.20 - Bruce - "Theres one piece of information or detail that the whole story sort of points to that no-one has really commented on which is quite surprising in terms of what the whole story means for the history of Elite and the in game lore. Thats a bit more of a clue than Arthur gave at the time but I wont say anymore than that...."

42.00 - Stephen - "But like Bruce said there are some things that people haven't necessarily maybe, not that we've seen, maybe think about with especially with like, the certain ships that are being used, the certain areas that are being used, err, these kinds of things"

42.23 - In Twitch Chat CmdrThatchinho -Lore-wise, by my reckoning, we've got... FTL comms confirmed, a new earliest date for when LPs were around, minimum extent of the bubble in 3111, megaship jump per day ranges from that period, confirmation of a private company having knowledge of Thargoid existence in 3111, and a few other bits and bobs...

Bruce responds within 30s - "Cmdr Thatchinho is starting to think along the right lines I think Arthur was poking at the other day"
--------------------------------------------
At the Adamastor in Chukchan:

46.30 Stephen - I dont think this has just been because its been flying about for years that its damaged, because some of the other ships were in better condition. So this definitely looks as if its received some sort of attack
Bruce - It does seem that way for sure
Stephen - ah, interesting. But anyhoo now that...

Very shortly after:

47.00 Bruce - So there are 2 locations that you might be able to discern from the initial set of clues.... erm....I don't want to spoil too much, I wont say more than that because I dont want to spoil what you may deduce from the information

Bruce - Blimey, Accredited Astronaut has quite the nose on him, quite the snozz. - after a few rewinds became apparent this was not referring to a chat post that had sniffed out the truth but instead to one of their in game avatars having a big nose. Not everything is relevant :)

Then the LS broke, after return it reset the clock. On YT & Twitch I think its in 2 parts so this is the 2nd part if so

04.29 Stephen reading from chat - "Is it possible to decrypt the message from the LP?" - I dont know, is it?
Bruce (leans into camera) - Should be

At the final SRV Site:

09.55 Bruce - chat about the SRV and occupant - But it stands to reason that unless someone has discovered this before and pulled a body out, or that they survived, I mean it looks like a death crash to me Im not gonna lie, then it all stands to reason that there would still be somebody inside does it not?

So for sure we know that a 200 yo human (dead or alive in the escape pod, do these have a lifespan?) has been found at the SRV and that Stephens avatar has a big nose, beyond that is speculation or what you think the hints mean.

I got plenty of tinfoil from it, not least the revisit to the Megaship and the clear expectation from the CMs that there is info there...perhaps without the knowledge that its bugged and isnt working properly.

The Log on the Adamastor has logs

26th Departing
28th ...
30th Entering System with K class Star

So the implication is there is a missing / deleted log from 28th. I think thats what youre referring to? Carver was told to shut up on the 27th (when she records it in her log as 'Taylor just relayed a message'. I have a lot of suspicions about Taylor but thats tinfoil, it could just be necessary narrative, but if youre gonna have a spy or a plant, who better than the comms person who you have direct communication with and nobody suspects?

Thx. Probably more than enough info for where I'm up to. But what geo survey? Is that further on after the LP, but before the Sidewinder in the timeline. If it is then that's too far on for me. I'm still trying to make sense of the LP and sidewinder clues pointing to a certain nebula.

For the decypher addicts and while waiting for the divine intervention...
(apologies if already posted by someone else)

Is true that this story triggered my curiosity, on the other hand out of the 5 last days, 1 was gameplay and 4 clueless wild guessing
