8 freaking years.. My Gods.. Everyone I knew that was hyped about this game when it was first crowd funded has given up and moved on. I've given up checking the mail for my promised USB key fob.. My T-shirt wore out many years ago.. And I refuse to keep DL'ing multi-gig, bug riddled updates. After 8 years it's still a demo. If this was any other project ( aside from maybe a GOVT funded one like the SLS ), CR and other top MGMT would have long since been yanked and replaced.
It's approaching $400 billion dollars and 8 years.. they have NOT lacked for capital or talent ( $400 billion buys a ton of talent ). Nor have they lacked for time. If it is none of these things ( Time, Talent, or Money ) then it can only be poor management and lack of planning. I'm not inside CIG.. but I've worked as a consultant on enough multi-million dollar IT projects to recognize the stench of feature creep mixed with wretched overtones of mis-management. Think about this : SpaceX spent the same amount of time and money developing the Falcon 1, Falcon 9, and Falcon Heavy rockets, which have been flying for a while now.. ACTUAL ROCKET SCIENCE, and revolutionary rocket science at that, in a shorter period.
I'm of the "Wait and See" point of view. I'll wait until you have an actual game I can see. Not a demo. Not a "beta". Not a new feature. A freaking released, actual, playable as promised AAA game.
