Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

They do actually have more than 1 planet. 3 landable IIRC and a gas giant. Plus over 10 moons!!!!

One of those planets actually belongs in a different star system though.

PS: Planets are not to scale.

3 landable planets: hurston, arccorp, and microtech
1 non-landable/non-approachable gas giant: crusader
1 plantoid/dwarf planet: delamar (this is the one from a different star system)

Nice catch there.

By only allowing players to play chess the rules of the game need to be enforced by the player. You know the state of the AI in Star Citizen? They can barely stand upright without t-posing and you think CIG would manage to teach it chess? lolz
TBH do we really care about that chess board ? It's decoration. Adding a chess AI in there would crush the game performance (Leela or Stockfish are not really light on CPU usage..) for something that's clearly not part of the scope. It's ok that you can move the pieces (although in a very tedious manner) - i suppose you could play with a (patient) friend. There's plenty to be said about CiG incompetence without resorting to attacking them for things that arent part of the game that they wont implement.

This is the rework? This is what we have waited the better part of a year for?

Well, at least the scroll bar is more visible now. That's what caught me out when i tried it. I didn't know you had to scroll the panel to see other floors.

Terrible design though. Never been in a lift in my life which required me to scroll. Just a load of buttons to press with numbers on them. Its a solid design.

Some fans have been touting it as 'the first mini game' for ship interiors. So it's worth pointing out that it doesn't really work as a mini game ;)

It kind of speaks to how slight the game mechanic additions have been this year that anyone feels the need to tout it at all.

It also underlines quite neatly that the big ship of the year, the MSR, is once again just a set of assets with its own flight model. None of its proposed, unique, gameplay actually seems to work. (I mean yes, you can place your cargo in the 'public place', or the 'secret place', but it doesn't make any functional difference.)

But hey, sliding chess set access to the secret place! (Just turn left at the scanner room that doesn't do anything, just past the server room that also doesn't do anything either. You can't miss it!)

From the leaks discord, Evocati is being reorganised/reprioritised:

Greetings Avos! We are going to be employing a new system to test complex features and gameplay. Temporary strike groups will be formed based on the specific needs of individual features, with those groups having limited access to builds dedicated to the feature being tested. Strike groups are created out of your patterns of participation during regular Evocati. For groups that require just players in the build, we will pull from those of you who have played the most. If we need detailed bug reporting, we will grab those with the most participation in issue council. Strike groups will use temporary Discord servers and invites will be sent via e-mail. We hope to start using these very soon, so keep an eye out!
