Can someone Fix Pulse wave Analyzer please

Someone told me Boris was in charge of fixing the PWS. ;)
"Go mining but don't go mining. If you have to use the PWS then use it but don't use the PWS. Fly forwards, use the PWS then fly backwards but don't use the PWS. Use Lasers. But if you have a carrier use subsurface missiles. Don't use subsurface missiles. Use core mining if you fly backwards but don't use the PWS. But use the PWS if you want to. Don't use limpets. If you are Imperial, go mining. Everyone in independent systems stay at home. But use the PWS. Unless you have to then don't use the PWS."

NO ONE WANTS TO USE THE PWA INCORRECTLY...... its a complete waste of time and not efficient. Deep core mining is no longer viable, there are better ways to make money...... try to keep up

Epitome of what's wrong with the human race, LETS STICK A BANDAID ON IT INSTEAD OF FIXING IT. We all know that there is a work around, and that work around ruins immersion. Also, you make less money because it takes longer.... not worth it. Its not fun any more. So please don't be condescending and under rate this problem. This is literally my favorite thing in the game to do. It was the only thing that was well balanced, time/reward. Its one of the few things in this game that they nailed, and you wanna throw all that out the window and fly backwards......
The proposed workaround wasn't so much "LETS STICK A BANDAID ON IT INSTEAD OF FIXING IT" - because incase you hadnae noticed, that purple caped knight with an imperial emblem emblazoned shield isn't standard Frontier Developments issued staff member forum avatar, so guess what sonny - I'm not a frontier employee, so I cannae fix your damned scanner. I can, however, present creative workarounds, and kindly took the time to think up one and share it with y'all.

As for the tone I used, the condescension is an appropriate reaction for a lazy whine thread started by someone that thinks a sardonically delivered suggestion on how to ameliorate one's problems is "Epitome of what's wrong with the human race". But given you either couldnae be bothered to go look for the latest info on the PWA bug, or obstinently refused to ignore that info, it should be of little surprise to me that you would be so capricious as to sneer at my suggestion - with or without its sarcastic wrapper.

Actually getting readings from it didn't take much thought. But they're whacked out when you do get them to show. Some fade out partially due to shader orientation or fogging.

Ultimately, it turns a tool that's required to make core mining the most efficient into a very inefficient process.

I'm not upset it's taken so long to fix. I mine almost exclusively through necessity and not for fun. But I never experienced the pwa in its fully functional state and watching videos of it make me think "man that's a lot easier than this right now". I managed to get some cores after a short time but it'd be much faster if it just worked how it used to, right?

C but it really does need to be fixed.

Edit: I've just thought of the term for it... "Geeksplaining"

I'm not much of a miner, sure, hanging in ice/rocky rings is cool because they are pretty but I do not find genuinely mining enjoyable, so I don't do much of it. As such I am amazed to see someone of your intellect fall into the "I mine almost exclusively through necessity and not for fun" trap? The two things you acquire from mining are materials and credits, plenty of other ways to get both in-game. For example, if you are mining to stock up on chemicals, deep core mining isn't the most efficient way to get them, laser strip mining is faster - which is basically flying through a ring lasering every rock you can and having your swarm of collector limpets collect everything. A slightly more engaging way is to run passenger missions to surface beacons at fumeroles, ice geisers etc, then you scan the beacon, land, drop the SRV, go harvest that site for all the chrystaline shards, piscoeus cobbles etc, You realise there's only a handful of "models" of deep core asteroids, at this time I cannot recall is it 1 or is it 4, so you can learn to recognise them in the passing.

If it credits you are after, Elite's economy is awash with credits, there is no need or necessity, play the GAME, have FUN, don't turn it into a job, the only two activities I can think of in Elite that yo don't make money at are PvP and maybe Thargoid Hunting - but if you are good AX and hit don't pick up too much damage against higher tier interceptors I think even that slightly more than "washes its face"?

I mine only for unlocking engineering and I own a carrier so I thought it'd be useful to know how to put fuel in it in emergencies :)

I don't do it for a main pass time and so the pws being broken isn't a priority for me. But I understand why it's frustrating for someone for whom it is.

Youre slow, Ive posted this a few times now, this isnt about anything other then keeping the problem up front and in view. I am not sneering at your suggestion, i simple dont want it. I just want the PWA to be fixed. simple. no work around, no enabling lazy behavior.

Also i have another fix for you, turn the PWA around. :)

HEADS UP ILL PROBABLY POST AGAIN WITHIN THE WEEK.

So i turned the PWA around, everythings all good. (i wish)

A couple of friends of mine recently got the freebie and went of to try mining.
Talk about trying to explain how the PWA is broken.
I got them to do laser mining instead.

They gotta get this fixed pronto, no more excuses.

Mining threads crack me up, 10/10, would read again

I bet you're great fun at parties.

I know a great work around, how about devs release new set of ship kits for each ship in game and they will include wing mirrors.... wack it in livery shop, do a 50% off for a limited time and boom 🤣🤣
