oh my god, how bad can it be? is the corvette also bad? is there are a chance piloting it efficiently actually takes more skill thats why people hate to learn it?
OK first off, remember that people here have been partying together for a while and we are familiar with one another. You're just learning people here, so you don't get all the back-stories. And just so you know,
@Old Duck is a VERY good and experienced person to get to know.
Second, that's not what we're saying - not at all. The Anaconda is a
spectacular ship; in fact it is so good it breaks the laws of physics - it's half the mass it should be. But combat in ED is a precise balance of speed, energy, tactics and knowledge...and only the
best can use the Anaconda to her fullest advantage
. And to anyone reading yes, that's Ganx. He's practically unstoppable in that thing. She is much slower to turn than almost any other ship and requires solid knowledge of linear vs. angular positioning. You CAN'T outturn an enemy, so you need to get distance to reduce the angle-of-fire, and work to keep your opponent
in that angle. Done well, the Anaconda is superb. Done poorly, it's a coffin. That's what we've been saying throughout this thread.
Every single ship in this game
can be the BEST ship in the game depending on individual preference, role and ability. Newcomers tend to think that the larger ships are better. Experienced players choose more versatile craft. TOP players often choose large vessels, because by that time they've learned how to deal with the limitations.
If you want to fly the thing that's great - I'll do my best to help you get better with it when we meet.
