It is up there with every AAA game and every few years they have to scrap it and start again as new titles get released, to stay ahead of the curveOh, here's a good one. Someone trying to dismiss CIG's statement about SQ42 being almost ready for release in 2014 because... wait for it.... they expanded the scope of SQ42 in 2017.
I mean, not only is that insane by itself, you can't excuse stuff in 2014 because they changed their minds in 2017, but also because we've had no evidence at all they have expanded the scope of SQ42. They talked about it being due to requiring fully landable planets, but nothing we know of requires fully landable planets in SQ42. The only thing CIG have said in relation to SQ42 was how they scrapped all the missions in 2018 because they were not good enough. Contrast with CR's statement in 2014 that he would put SQ42 up against any AAA game out there.
Its just bull on top of bull and some backers eat it all.
Mmmmm... very tasty Chris, please, can i have some more bull?
...a marketing campaign can only last so long...
...All of us, including myself, are in close-out mode...
That's the joke?![]()
Its a half truth. Sadly, my system isn't even up to their minimum specs, so I actually do get most of my SC entertainment reading this stuff. Would I rather get my SC entertainment from SC, itself? Yes, and I think many others would to.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
I wonder how many more upgrade cycles and increased requirements backers will have to go through before the game is released.
Buttery smooth... 55 fps in loreville, with a Ryzen 3700 and RTX3070.
My buttery smooth rear end.

Looking closely at the new planned features for this year it seems Boats, Land Claims, Player settlements, and naming ships are big money makers planned for CIG. Boat tech is being developed and there are several "unnamed" vehicles... Land claims have already been a thing, but the settlements and specifically the items related to it on schedule seem to indicate at least one type of housing. Next quarter we get ship hull names. My quess...Free one time name, $5.00 to rename. Just my guess. All in all, boats would be a huge money maker as no one has ONE and the theory crafting would drive high demand. Land claims were already a good money maker (though expensive for many) so smaller plots might sell even better. Settlements would likewise be a huge draw. It will be interesting to see what is done with these items on the roadmap.
That is a fair point, but it doesn't quite explain the multiple maths failures in the last column. It also raises questions of why they're not defining their FY or why, if it runs to March, this report couldn't have been published 6 months ago rather than now, as a happy upbeat message to counterbalance the fumbled community event fully expected delays on… oh… everything.Re. 2020 not 2019, I'm guessing that's referring to their FY2019 which might well have ended at the end of March 2020... three days after the extra investment was announced. Timing entirely coincidental I'm sure.![]()
