Galnet: Core Dynamics Purchases Lakon Spaceways

Can't say I'm a fan of this storyline to be honest. It seems very much like just taking more things away from the one Superpower in the game that is already underrepresented in terms of gameplay.
Of course it could also tie in with the whole expansion into the Coalsack and an alliance between the Alliance and Thargoids, which could involve a breeding program or some such...

Now there's a shocking thought.
Or, the Alliance could start their own ship building company.
New manufacturer, new ships.

although I'd welcome this, I can't see it
I believe they are trying to simplify the game with less variants in game
less ship makers, less superpowers, they have already said engineers will be getting looked into, all the rebalancing that's happened, it points to a simpler game for the FPS masses that'll come with Odyssey

This might be a way for FDev to introduce an Alliance ship manufacturer. It's the only super power without one.

surely they had one in Lakon?

Its about time the Alliance of Kale got a good crisis on.

Edmund Mahon will win the elections. Why? Frontier won't spend a penny on a new powerplay character art

As I explained earlier, if Mahon loses it changes nothing, because its people supporting him. Mahon would go from being a PM to a very powerful Alliance figure.

naaa wont effect us much if it does happen, engineering would be a bit easier, superpowers would be clear cut (what does the alliance bring to the party?) credits would be worth something again, ect ect s'all good!
They're going to retrofit the T-7 to be a medium ship...
give it a bit more cargo plz and/or noticeably better in defence than the python (doesn't need loadsa weapons, just rhino skinned)

Does this mean my Keelback is going to become a collector’s item?

I really don't understand where are they going with that narrative... Lakon is established and popular ship manufacturer in that universe, adored and praised by many players. I don't see any point in "merge" like this. Are they just trying to anger Lakon fans? What's going to happen to in-game ship models and descriptions? Are they going to change all that? Add Core Dynamic signatures inside and out of these ships? Lakon will not exist anymore?

Really, the only logical conclusion I see here is that something's going wrong, and deal doesn't go through. I honestly see no point in erasing major manufacturer from the game purely for the sake of narrative...

General Manures bought Saab unfortunately, angered their fans and proceeded to destroyed it. But they will forever be Saab.

Can't see them taking any ships out of the game though, imagine the forum salt if that happened!

Me and my friend have discussed this at length and will certainly leave if FD remove my Asp Scout :D
