I decided to stack a bunch of war-time missions for TDW in Ross 154. A couple of hits to start, with one being in Alpha Centauri, the famous (infamous) Hutton Orbital system.

Well, true to form, the mission target was >0.11LY out (that's > 3.47million Ls)! The next time I encounter one like that, I think I'll just ditch the job instead of taking the (large amount of) time!
Charlotte: be nice! We're working really hard for ya!

Ian a few posts back has it right - Ross 154 is within 10 ly from Sol - and was I believe the last available system without either a permit lock or a competing player faction.
We've already tested jumps from within Sol's "20 ly" cube as both LHS 397 and LTT 5455 meet that criteria. The slim hope is that now we are in Ross 154 we may be able to grant permits - unlikely as The Federation grants permits to Sol and not some upstart faction!

Our target system near to LFT 509 should be our next jump. We have a secondary alternative if we miss, or for some reason the first doesn't work out.

I am immensely proud of the work we have collectively been able to do. With very few miss-steps we've directed expansion after expansion exactly where we wanted. We have arrived in our target systems with minimum fuss and not stepping on too many toes along the way. Most importantly, we've provided a whole bunch of content for all to enjoy!

The main stages of this project are reaching a conclusion one way or another but we intend to continue in perhaps a more relaxed manner afterward. The area of space beyond LFT 509 is lots less crowded than the inner worlds near Sol or Lave. A few more jumps and we should be out past areas claimed by other factions. There we can build a quiet little empire of our own just in time to test the BGS changes that walking will bring.

RL issues and the shift in tick time to around 3am have prevented me from being as involved in the latter stages of this project as I would like but with Micha and then Wolfdragon taking over and Kai and the crew behind the scenes continuing, the project is in good hands.

Keep Turning the Wheel, Hamsters!

Permits for what? I don't get that part.
In the particular case of Ross 154 the slim hope is that, once we take control of the system, TDW may be able to issue permits for Sol system. Ross 154 is 9.69ly from Sol, which is just within the limit for permit issuing.

To be honest, I wouldn't hold my breath on this one; I'm hoping that we'll get a result once we get within range of LFT 509.

I haven't been rank-watching so this caught me a little by surprise, especially since I'm not a combat-focused player. The countdown is apparently ON.

Maybe I should ditch the wartime missions, go grab my Creampuff (combat ship), visit our CZ, and see if I can blow thru this countdown! 🚀

Well, what do you know...

Fitting that the message popped up when I destroyed a spec-ops ship in the CZ (ranked Elite). That makes me triple Elite!

Enough waving my flag. Back to work...

It's still strange to think of how many things I have not yet done in Elite Dangerous.

In the last expansion we also tested the permit locked system Witch's Reach, does anyone know the owner of this system?

ROSS 154 Invasion War concluded 4-0 CONGRATULATIONS CMDRs!

We will now begin the climb to take control of ROSS 154. There will be at least two conflicts that will occur during that climb, let’s work to steamroll those 4-0 just like the invasion.

The ROSS 154 - SOL test has two parts:
1) Permits - Once TDW has control, since we are well within the permit giving distance, we will see if there is a permit mission that pops.
2) SOL Expansion - From ROSS 154 we will trigger an expansion to see if it is possible for TDW to enter the SOL system. IF that is unsuccessful, we will contact whoever controls wherever we land to determine if they would like us to stay and be guests or if they want us to leave.

LFT 509 Test Site - While the climb in ROSS 154 is underway the Legions will be conducting the operations necessary to shape our next jump. More details to follow later. If you would like to join one of the Legions and assist in this effort, please join the Elite Week Discord and post your interest in the dark-wheel-text channel.

Please remember:
Do NOT work for other factions in TDW systems, unless requested below.
Do NOT hand in bounties for any faction other than TDW in our systems.
Do NOT hand in trade goods or cartography data to stations that we do not own.

Bounty Hunting:
Bounty Hunting in any of our controlled systems. (ANYANWU has a Compromised Nav Beacon)
Hand in TDW Bounty Vouchers at ANY STATION in ROSS 154, HR 4979, LFT 926, or LAVE (Bounty vouchers do not require station ownership).

Conflicts:
LFT 926 - Support Collective of Independent Agents with ELECTION MISSIONS
LP 787-52 - Support Wong Ten Democrats with CONFLICT ZONES and WAR MISSIONS

General Missions & Passengers:
ROSS 154 - Any missions for TDW to increase INF to climb the ladder for control of the system
ANYANWU - Any missions for Alliance of LTT 5419, we need to keep them well above 2.5% INF to stop their retreat. The Retreat State is making them bleed 2.0% every day and the Infrastructure Failure isn’t doing them any favors. Missions here to push INF into them will offset that bleed and keep them climbing above the natives.
ANYANWU - Any missions for Aegilips Co to boost them above the natives. Lower priority than Alliance of LTT 5419.
LP 787-52 - TDW too high here, any missions for Mikir Free will help boost them above the natives for system stability and lower TDW INF to the desired 60-65% INF.
PHRA LAK - TDW is just a bit too high, any missions for the native factions on the bottom end of the Inara system faction list will lower TDW, <60% INF is desired.
ARQUE - Any missions, we want to be #2 in system ~20% below Alliance Rapid-reaction Corps.
LAVE - Any missions, we want to be #2 in system ~20% below Lave Radio Network
LAVE - Any missions for Defence Party of Lave to make them #3 in the system

Commodity Trading:
Profitable trades into HR 4979 - Iqbal Hub (All Pads)
Profitable trades into LFT 926 - Meredith City (All Pads)

Exploration Data:
Hand in at HR 4979 - Iqbal Hub (All Pads)
Hand in at LFT 926 - Meredith City (All Pads)

General Remarks:
  • All TDW Controlled Systems: Until a planned expansion is announced, TDW should have no greater than 65% INF to avoid any unintended expansions.
  • ARQUE - TDW is to be #2, ~20% below Alliance Rapid-reaction Corps
  • LAVE - TDW is to be #2, ~20% below Lave Radio Network
  • WOLF 433 - TDW is to be #2, ~20% below LHS 2541 Alliance Combine
  • As a general rule, when factions in a TDW system are in conflict, we want the native faction (Blue N by their name in Inara when looking at the system) to LOSE. Where two non-native factions conflict, neither winner is “desired”, depending on INF level after the conflict, we would likely boost the LOSER to avoid retreat (happens at 2.5% or lower). Two native factions in conflict can be ignored.

Please continue to use EDMC or similar tools to keep local data up to date.

Keep Turning The Wheel, Hamsters!

It looks like we won the war, so well done CMDR's. (y)

I don't know why but everything I've tried to do in game today has been a disaster, from crashing my little cobra on the way out of the station to nearly killing myself in the CZ.
I was in open (which compounded the shame) so apologies to any cmdr's who I disrupted!

I guess we have all had our share of days like that - I know I certainly have! I still remember the first time I got to be in a wing. I felt like I was bumbling everything, as if I had zero hours behind me, and that everyone else must have been rolling their eyes.

Sometimes it's a good thing that there's really no upside down in space so that our peers can't instantly tell when we're just off. 🙃 🚀

@WolfDragon suggests we will have two conflicts to take charge of Ross 154, but I think we may benefit from something happening now.

The two minor factions at positions 2 & 3 in the system (Independents of Ross 154 and Ross 154 Group) are at war. They both have 11.6% inf to our 9.6%.

If we work hard while their war is on, could we not leapfrog them both into 2nd place?

(Looks like they are in day 1 of their civil war, so maybe that gives us several days to jump over them both?)

As Ross 154 Dominion has a ground installation, we will most likely conflict with them before we could jump over the other two in conflict. That being said, depending how the INF goes after their war, we might still be able to jump over them both, but I expect to conflict with the winner of that civil war, and then have the conflict to control the system.
