CM Arf: Elite/Horizons (PEGI 7?) CMDRs won't instance with Odyssey (higher PEGI rating) CMDRs on non-atmos planets because of rating restrictions

Well that's an easy one, you don't actually see these SUPPOSED slaves or civilians nor do you see their screams of fear or agony in the chat so in essence they are just boxes on a ship which, you are shooting, just a piece of metal flying through space sadly in this case it's a literal case of a visual representation of it all.

If that were the case, FD could provide erotica for reading in-game as long as they used only medical/scientific terms. The ratings system is just dumb, centralized "morality" committees for vidya were doomed to idiocy from birth.

I dont get it. They already said the planets are generated completely differently in O compared to H, so there never was an ability to share the same surface anyway.

Doesn't exist. It's more likely to be the flat earth people
I still really want this to happen one April Fools Day

All landable surfaces are being regenerated (airless Horizons planets included). If I launched the game in Odyssey and you didn't, but we both went to the same airless planet, you could be in your SRV and I could be on foot in the same spot. Now we just know that we won't instance with each other. I wonder how this would work if two players in this situation were friends, but one didn't have Odyssey.

No matter that the same spot could be a km deep crater in O and 15 km high mountain in H...

They are being generated vastly differently between the two versions. If we stand in the same spot, you in H and I in O, we'd see totally different things/valleys/hills/canyons/et cetera.

Isnt there the most easy solution to this... just limit odysee content to the new landable planets in odysee?

Instead they're still planning on putting fps everywhere and implementing networking filtering?

This isn't my understanding of it. Even non-Horizons players could see the changes to Horizons landable planets without owning it, they were just barred from approaching. I don't see why they would gate the new planet generation tech and effectively have two separate visual systems.

This is the impression I gained from listening to the livestream details too.
That the new planet tech is shared between base game & Odyssey, only 'atmo' planets were 'locked' to Odyssey.

It had to be separate instances really, otherwise an Odyssey player could shoot a non-Odyssey player without fear of getting shot back, or a non O player could spy for their friends without any fear of getting shot, depending on how they modified non Odyssey players to interact with Odyssey players.
