Post Odyssey dreams?

Proper salvageable stuff. So, for instance, I find a crashed ship on a deserted planet somewhere, I can strip the modules out. Some may not be as good as the ones I have, some may be better. Inject a bit of random luck in, this might work best for new CMDRs, giving them a path to land on planets more, have a snoop about.

SRVs all the way. Give me one with changeable modules, caterpillar tracks. All that.
A big jet on the back and skis for ice worlds.

(1) Stealing ships and SRVs (And other vehicles if they existed...)
(2) Boarding / Stowing Away /Storming other ships (including tethering/tractor beams/hatches/ space walking with cables/jet packs and the like)
(3) Caves/Underground/Overhanging Cliffs etc. (odyssey is still convex only by the sound of it)

Robotics. And in particular robots with body curves of my liking. To be purchased in every station. Together with cockpit accessories like a dancing pole. Furthermore I want orbital launched fusion bombs which I can drop on stations to skip the FPS which I don't feel like doing at all. And last but not least being able to load seismic charges into cargo racks.

- Ship interiors: is the first want for elite for all new players?

- Animated gas giants: A little mobile app called "solar walk 2" has had them for years, and it makes me wince about elite every time. They look good. Would love cloud city type environments and gas mining. Bonus points if the cores are used as wormholes by thargoids.

- EVA: so we can float over to and sit on a rock in a ring system and look at the parent gas giant. Also one of the first wants.

Do you mean moving clouds? I am not sure you would see much in real time unless the wind speeds were some significant fraction of the speed of light? Certainly some separated cloud and/or haze layers would be good. I agree they do look a bit flat atm.

Sure could live with "as you got closer". Too many look like table tennis balls at the moment.

Bonus want:

- Glamping kit: Skyrim camping mod. Build a subnautica style mini base. Include fire (inside teepee shaped glass object), bed, vending machine, coffee machine, aquarium, observation room. Refuels the SRV while you wait. Can be upgraded to include scanning functionality to pinpoint specific material nodes. Set up a mining extractor or two which works in real time. Log out. Log back in. Press button to collapse structure into cube and collect materials. Permanent version available via engineering upgrade and powered by meta alloys or biowaste as fuel.

Not really needed, but probably would be modded in really quickly if players had the chance. I'd even buy this. Yes i already did buy it with subnatutica :)

1) Serious efforts with QOL improvements (bookmarks, HUD colours, storage, fleet carriers)

2) Crime & Punishment development with consequences and "careers".

3) More (good) "surprises or discoveries" anything that keeps the game fresh. Mysteries, varied CGs, ongoing narrative, weird objects, alien artifacts.

Fix crime and punishment, like Eid says, high security systems should be safe and anarchy systems should be vicious. A commander with notoriety should have their ship insurance removed to make the cost of dying a concern.

Open only and crossplay, once crime and punishment work there is no reason not to unite the player groups and get us all sharing the same galaxy.

Scrap your utterly terrible network code and implement a proper client server configuration that doesn't fall over when you try to instance with someone 3 doors down the road.

Bonus suggestion: fix the bloody bug that awards combat bonds for the wrong side in CZs, it's been like two years.

1. vr support
2. more vr support
3. additional vr support with a vengeance

because fixing the damn vanishing ship target chevron that has been broken for years would be a totally unexpected surprise i absolutely don't count on.

I can't believe Frontier have beaten me down so much that my "dreams" are so unambitious (and I can't believe they don't "have any plans" to do this for Odyssey launch) but ...

Better bookmarks.

Please? (It really isn't much to ask)

Or at the very least more bookmarks... :)

•Boarding and ship commandeering. I want fights like the opening scene of Star Wars A New Hope.
•ability to fine tune ships. Walk to the Engineering room to tweak thrusters for more speed but less agility or more vertical thrust to get off high G at the expense of speed. Ability to manually tweak weapons convergence by walking to a control panel not accessible from the pilots chair. A manual alternative to AFMS.
•actual dangers out there in the void. Hostile regions of space inhabited by Romulans/Klingons/Wookies/Thargoids or whatever analogues frontier cooks up to make space interesting and dangerous. Idiot NPCs who want my tasty biowaste are getting stale.

1) VR on foot
2) Extend further landable planets
3) Consolidate power play, squadrons and BGS, so that squadrons are part of a faction, factions part of a power and add Thargoids as a power. Territory conquest is driven from the BGS.

1. Immersive deep co-op exploration mysteries with a hint of danger. Exploration skill and co-operation needed.
2. Merge Player driven community goals with strong Narrative driven background simulation. A layer on top of missions and community goals.
3. Phenomenon details: Aurora Borealis. Comet tail hazards. Atmospheric planetfall effects. "4000 different sounds of snow" - Adaptive and mathematically overlays of sounds that can tell explorers what temperature and consistency of i.e. snow just from the sound the footsteps make. This will make great immersion, but will require sound to utilize compute shaders from material and environmental data.

I have 2 active accounts (thanks to epic 7 in total now :p) so i get another go.

- VR for PS5: Can overstate how good this would be. Okay, I just want to justify a ps5. Haven't been excited about a console since dreamcast.
- Redo the galaxy map to fully support the bgs / powerplay, and by extension sandbox activities dependent on state.
- Increase the number of stars generated in the system background wallpaper.
Its about time. Just a little dated now.

Editable bookmarks, preferably with a similar colour coding to the one already used for States etc.

Smuggling. Make it harder, make it worthwhile, make it fun.

The ability to spend vast amounts of real life cash on outfits, sunglasses and other daft things for the npc crew sitting next to us that so many of us want that you’d probably make a small fortune from.

None of the above are BIG asks.
