And how was this rejection letter worded exactly, has anyone actually seen it?
It's in his video, available from the usual sources:

saying they only have limited keys to give away ... weird. Like they decided there are 500 members of the press / streamers, but Yamiks was 501.

Fair enough, it does seem like a bit of a crap answer.
Although it’s still pretty bad form to post the contents of that message publicly.
As if crying about it to anyone that listens is going to further ingratiate himself with FDev and get him on the list.

I couldn’t care less if he had 1 million viewers and apparently neither do FDev.

At the end of the day he tried to use his ā€influenceā€ to blag a free copy and they said ā€œjog on mateā€.

Whether you or I care about how many viewers he has is beside the point. What I’m saying is that given his significant number of viewers is made up of their customers, they should care, at least enough to hand him a key that costs them nothing. That’s my opinion anyway.

It’s likely Yamiks is going to purchase Odyssey regardless, but the significance of the key is that, as far as I understand it, it’s given to content creators before any public release, so they can get content ready, which helps market the game and make sales.

Factabulous has posted the response from Frontier, so you can see what I mean by insulting. The denial of the key was premised on an artificial limit, and his bizarrely not being included in what they refer to as ā€œcore content creatorsā€.

It's an odd and IMHO rather silly move from FD. Of course Yamiks can just buy the alpha and make his videos anyway so it won't actually stop him reviewing and commenting on Odyssey. What they have done though is send him a thinly veiled insult (guaranteed to rile him up) by suggesting he's not a significant enough content creator whilst simultaneously sowing the seeds of a narrative that they are somehow fearful of criticism or have something to hide.
Whoever sent him that response can't seriously have expected him not to make a loud fuss about it, surely? Should have just given him a review key.
