Factabulous has posted the response from Frontier, so you can see what I mean by insulting. The denial of the key was premised on an artificial limit, and his bizarrely not being included in what they refer to as “core content creators”.

Yeah, I guess that's the point that seriously gets Yamiks (and if you look at the comments of that video also Exigeous) so upset, because no matter if you like him or not: He is one of the more well known content creators for Elite.

Although it’s still pretty bad form to post the contents of that message publicly.
As if crying about it to anyone that listens is going to further ingratiate himself with FDev and get him on the list.

If you’ve watched many of his videos, you’d not figure ingratiation with the devs was one of his main priorities lol.

The way I took it is that he’s informing the community about what he sees as important information about the company and its dealings. Whether people think that has any relevance or not is another story.

To exclude him, they made an excuse about an artificial and arbitrary key limit they created, and did not include him in the category of “core content creators”, when by any measurement, he most certainly meets any reasonable criteria for that. It’s a dishonest response and insulting to the intelligence. That it was politely worded mitigates none of that.

Yes Yamicks is constantly hammering on the game; but that's the kind of people we need reviewing it. We don't need the constant fanboyism of other channels that downplay everything fdev does wrong because they think fdev will cut them off. I want two kinds of reviews to look at. One that shows off all of the good things and another that shreds it to pieces. That way I can be informed on all of the good and bad aspects of it.

I thought it was pretty clear, but sure - the more inflated one's ego and self-importance the more likely one gets "insulted" by something that is simply a reality check (same applies to his fanbase for thinking the same).

Yamiks (and/or his fanbase) believes he deserves a free copy.

FDev clearly thinks otherwise; it's their IP and they can chose who they want to associate themselves with, and who they don't.
