Ouch. They must've been some bits you sold. I only wanted earphones which didn't fall out every five seconds, but that's my low bar, not yours.

And I've no doubt you didn't have any idea what you were talking about. ;) Let's see whose computer melts first next week. This is my first pre-order/alpha/beta so I'm quite excited. Plus it's a week off after next weekend so I get more time to play.

Wow, several times?

I was enjoying it for a while but finally got bored soon after I got off-world. It's just one of those things. Like with TV shows. There's plenty of them out there, and if something doesn't grab you early, better to just move on.

cuda is a Nvidia technology for parallel processing on Graphic-cards - we use that to compute complex adaptive systems pretty quicky, but it is an all purpose computation technology to speed up tasks, which can be done in parallel. There are as well parallel processing cards, which use cuda but have no graphical outputs whatsoever.

cuda is slightly different from the OpenGL standard, can run OpenGL applications but applications specifically made for Cuda don't run on other OpenGL machines.

It looks promising but I hope it doesnt fall to the mile wide inch deep problem which can affect such a large sandbox universe. If its just that one big room with different skins (like all the stations) but with more all less all the same generic npc types giving generic missions it will tire quickly.

On the graphics side of things, I am running a 3700X with 2060 Super and it has been effortless so far but with the latest 'update' or whatever, I noticed that in Haz Res once I dogfight inside the ring it sometimes stutters. Anyone else experience this?

Reminds me of the Chevrolet Impala from "Supernatural". I've always had a hankering for an American muscle car - a Plymouth Roadrunner with a huge blower would be nice. I'd love to pull up next to some kid in a all-mouth-and-no-trousers Corsa in one of them. "Hey! Whippersnapper! This is a proper car!"

I'm still grinding combat. Oh lord, it's so sloooow.

Think I need to take a wee break and sell that painite that's been stinking up my hold for ages. Thing is, prices are pretty low at the moment and seem to have stayed that way for a while; I may have to bite the bullet and sell anyway.

Got thrown into a brig last night for pulse lasering a good guy. Was a bit unpleasant as the Mamba has a truly embarrasssingly short jump range and I had to call the carrier over to bail me out. When I radio'd in, Hannah, the FC COVAS laughed at me when I yelled "Wear's the soap!"

I'm not sure what the issue is there but I wouldn't have minded that much if we had to wait a little longer, to be honest. Maybe PC is a kind've test bed though.

Does anyone know of good ways to find carriers for a lift? I don't really see a point in spending days grinding back to the bubble when I've technically already made the trip in reverse. The best I can hope to get out of it is probably less cart data than I earned the first time around and I'm already Elon Musk level rich right nah.

yes it really is, I've banished myself to rackhams peak, about 2 thirds of the way there and should get there by tonight, those 20min jumps are a pain

There is a fleet carriers discord. Whatever that means. If you know about discord, seek it out. You can arrange lifts in there. I think it’s called Fleet Carriers Owners Club. I’m not a discord person though.

I could out run any carrier in my Dolphin, as long as the jumps in the carrier are done by a human, not some bot or script. 500ly jump. 15mins to rev up. a couple of mins to cool down. You can easy cover that distance ion most ships, quicker. If you're not 'driving' the carrier though, it is a lot easier to hitch a lift.
