It is not fun when ship gives up ghost somewhere near Beagle and you spawn at nearest station (that being as fast as I remember Explorer's Anchorage near Sag A)

I agree with you as I have lost millions in exploration by pushing my luck: "Just one more neutron, just one more black hole" mentality.
It is a prudent pilot who knows his limits and abilities except I had to respawn at LSH 3447 because Anchorage was not in existence. It is not the ship but the pilot who has given up the ghost. because of a fatal error he/she made.

I got all sorts of chewed up during DW 3302 because of a glitch that bounced me off the surface of Darwin's Legacy.
The game was a lot more unforgiving back then since that is a less than .2G solar.
Maybe with the advent of Odyssey, FDEV will kick difficulty up a notch, with the new planet tech?
I'd rather not, that was a thruster inversion on the surface with shields on a .17G planet and it cost me 55% hull.

A bit of a grind tonight with lots of unique discoveries and a 4,200ly jump
I've left the Galactic Centre and am now just shy of the border between Riker's Hope and Izanami
Still trying to do this using Neutron Stars only, sometimes I have to jump a couple of lys and back to refuel but all good. I have ranked up to Pioneer which I'm really pleased with but I've got 260 million credits but still Mostly Penniless, wouldn't mind that kind destitution in the real world

You've got to make your money through trading to move that. You can earn untold billions through exploration and it won't shift a bit, make 100k from trading and you'll move up to Peddler.

If you plot a longer route and you will encounter a system which requires a permit, your plotting will fail; just find a way around it, above or below, and then continue on.
Don't worry, drop out of supercruise, approach those and use the composition scanner on them, they will be added as a discovery to your commander's codex. As you describe them, they're a type of metallic crystals, a type of organic structures.
I've discovered Prasinium Metallic Crystals.
There a 3 signals in this system, will they all be the same ?
