I just logged in and played for about 10 mins.
Would love some info on when the offline mode will be available.
There's an off-line, single-player mode planned for release, in addition to the shared universe single-player on-line.what do you mean offline mode? You have single player scenarios. You aren't going to get a persistent galaxy in offline mode. You would have to run your own server. you don't have 2000+ star systems downloaded onto your hard drive. If you want a true single player game with no need for internet access I would hate to imagine the size of the file you would need to download.
Bummer just bought this game today after getting really bored of X and it goes down after I login to open play for the 1st time after doing some tutorials![]()
Oh please god, not this conversation again.lol.
you didn't buy a "game"
Still, whats a bit of hyperbole between forum members...

That's the problem with sweeping generalisations: Everybody does it.
Trying to start the launcher i get this message:

I am using the newest launcher and was already running 3.0 this morning.
This is ridiculous, been downloading the beta 3 for 2 days now on a 6Mbps line.
My route to the download servers is more direct than many from EU, it's 8 hops with download server 300ms away. After some research I found that Amazon does indeed limit some downloads based on IP range and route costs, Microsoft cloud does the same thing. It's amazing that people would suggest that my country infrastructure is at fault rather than consider that Amazon is at fault, everything that ends up on the sea cables is beyond my ISPs' reach and I can reach the destination with no problems.
I ask for Frontier to please make the patches available from a normal FTP server.
Carcharodon, that link is broken.
Packet loss is at 0%, it's visible on Resource Monitor.I would install Wireshark and have a look at the packets for any losses or retries, just to iron out issues with your connection or ISP.
Have you updated the client launcher? Need to do that otherwise you'll see that error when hitting the log on button.
