I am looking at it right now.... 165k ls to go...
We have...

1. Balance: Credits spent on suits, personal weapons, consumables, # premium suits/weapons purchased, credits spent on premium suits/weapons
Note: both of the last two need fixing - thry are cut off and from what I can see have the wrong values, unless I have purchased more than 10,000,000 suits...

2. Combat: Dropships, CZs, CZ wins (by type), total wins, settlements defended, settlements conquered, skimmers killed, scavengers killed
Note: some of these are wrong - I have killed many more than 0 scvengers

3. Crime: Settlements shutdown, Production sabotaged, production thefts, total murders, citizen murders, guards murdered, data stolen, goods stolen, production samples stolen... profiles cloned...
Note: some of these are also at zero... and shouldn't be...

4. Exploration: Shuttle journeys, shuttle distance, credits spent on shuttles, first footfalls, settlements visited
Note: again... these numbers are not correct...

5. Search & Rescue: Surface salvage, illegal salvage... maglocks cut, panels cut, settlement firess extinguished, settlements rebooted...
Note: this should be renamed as Search, Rescue & Salvage... and the numbers are off, again...

6. Crafting: As expected, just like the ship engineering stats

7. Exobiology: New stuff... These numbers are correct!

Note: not an exhaustive list, but you get the idea.

@Sally... Cmdr Codex is in, but the numbers are mostly wrong, and by wrong, I mean set to 0.

I'm looking into this now and what you've listed here is MASSIVELY helpful to me in this thread. Thank you. I just need a bit of time to get back to you guys so I'm accurate in understanding things. Thank you!!
 
To reiterate - For those still experiencing Orange Sidewinder issues - validating files via Steam doesn't seem to work.

Try validating via Elite Launcher :
  • Launcher Options-> ED Cache disabled!
  • Launcher Options -> Validate Game Files
May take a little while - should show 'Working' then you should be able to play. Worked for me and a lot of others thanks to some great community work - o7

That's a work around. Not a fix. I shouldn't have to do FDev's job for them.
 
Okey, Steam validation didn't help - still Orange Sidewinder.
Launcher is not usable for long on Linux too, menus do not work there, only play btn.
Have to wait and keep playing other games.
Did you try going back to ED(Original), and if login was successful or revert successful, and go back to Odyssey and try login?
 
Performance has increased again on my PC, nothing major, but another 5 fps or so. Im out in the black so dont know about interiors etc...

Launcher's menu "OPTIONS" where check for updates is hidden, not clickable.
Just one of those trial & error methods, coz I had Orange Sidewinder after update 4, and just tried by logging into different versions of ED, and now I'm in Ody fine.
 
I care a lot. The galaxy is big, you know. Way too big to stay in your galactic garden until the end of times... We can at least expect that star population is based on some formulas and about what we know about the spiral arms. That should be a little more than just artist's work.
That's all good, but that changes nothing about the fact that the skybox is broken. Galaxy is overexposed, background dark, etc. Have you ever been under the true dark sky at night? Try it and you will see what I mean. The stars are casting shadow of you on the ground, it is so bright.
 
Those are precisely the places I screenshotted in my thread, including the red glass.

I found the opposite with the GPU and CPU usage, oddly enough. Both would drop at the same time my frame rate was tanking.

When you disable the shader, do you find the overall frame rate at settlements/concourses improves?

Also, is there a method to disable that shader? I'm keen to experiment.
In short, the problem can go in "overload mode" :)

When you walk toward the object :
  • if you reach 100% GPU usage before touching the object.
  • if i continue to walk toward the object, I see fps AND GPU/CPU usage dropping.

That's similar to one of the performance problem in settlements.
It's mainly the big ones (or the ones with many objects in view), you can reach 11k drawcalls,
and fps starts to drop linearly over that number (with GPU and CPU not maxed).

Have a look at the linux thread, there have been some improvements lately. I run EDH, but the launcher runs well, can update the game and you can use the menus and links.

I don't use the /steam option anymore.

I suppose the EDO launcher might be different..?

Despite bugs and performance issues - Odyssey is a tremendous achievement!
 
1. can we have a fix for frontier wars. rendered half drawn ship rear exhaust only being rendered /displayed on the "adder" on some occasions when you selected loadout change.

2. there also a problem with the rank section. when inflight to location the information is wrong. rank get zero , until it time to deploy
